Gemini and Capricorn Zodiac Compatibility

Zodiac Compatibility

The roar of it echoed through the mountains, and the echoes seemed to cry savagely, Where are they, where are they, where are they?

What are these Gemini people trying to do? Where do they stand? Where are they? cries the honestly puzzled Capricorn, trying to deal with the Twins. They are nowhere, answers the astrologer. They are nowhere, yet they are everywhere. It is difficult to tell, without taking into consideration that each Gemini is at least two people.

Do you think for one minute that a Goat is going to stand for that kind of an obtuse answer? No way. It’s too ephemeral, entirely too abstract to be a practical solution to the problem. So don’t try astrology on Capricorns whose lives are being tossed out of their orbit of set routine by the antics of a pair of Twins hiding within one Gemini. It won’t work. I’m not sure just what will work, but that won’t work.

You might try explaining Gemini to Capricorn by pointing out that Gemini is an Air Sign, therefore Mercury-ruled people are very much like the wind. The wind is invisible, yet strong. It can be a friend or an enemy. It’s more or less neutral (like Switzerland). Sometimes it will uproot entire buildings. Sometimes it will not. There’s just no telling with the wind—or with Gemini. The wind is free and unpredictable, and it’s impossible to guess in which direction it will blow. It is a question asked only by the foolish; consequently, any astrologer who tries to answer it is a fool. Still, all that won’t cut any ice or slice any pickles with the Goat, who will, after all your trouble, continue to demand which way this particular Gemini’s wind (or hot air) is blowing. Just tell him North. It is blowing North. Then forget about it. Even if Gemini’s emotional wind was blowing South, East, or West at the time under discussion, you can be sure it will be blowing North within a couple of hours. You see? There are always ways to handle these things if you try.

The taciturn Capricorn will not admire Gemini’s verbal gift if it becomes too profuse. Although most Goats enjoy listening vicariously to gossip about the famous (those who have achieved, if only in their own communities), they are seldom inclined to partake of it personally. (Gossip, I mean. They are always willing to partake of fame.) To Saturn, the ruler of Capricorn, caution is the beginning of wisdom, in speech as well as in action. Symbolically, Saturn is the planet of wisdom gained through long tests of initiation in many incarnations, traditionally the ruler of the Hebrew culture. Also the ruler of exasperatingly bossy employers, grandparents, anyone in authority, including the government—all those people and institutions tending to get their kicks from saying NO. Absolutely, NO—(for your own good, of course). Yes is a foreign word to the typical Goat.

Capricorns have trouble even pronouncing it, some of them substituting words like okay or I-suppose-so. I even know a Colorado Goat who substitutes the word Yippee (spoken very softly) for YES—an inexplicable habit, but nonetheless typical. So, Cappy does not like to say YES. I think it has something to do with money or financial security. To Capricorns, no seems to rhyme more with dough—and yes rhymes with less, especially when it’s spoken without due and proper consideration. Something like that.

This is a 6-8 Sun Sign Pattern, meaning that Capricorn will attract Gemini for a reason relating to mystery, death, sex, reincarnation, hypnosis, psychiatry—or some bending of the mind, even drugs. One of these areas will be involved in a subtle way or subconsciously. As for the reverse, the Goat will always find some useful purpose for the Twins, and often Gemini will end up by in some way serving the slightly selfish Capricorn. Self-sacrifice of one kind or another is bound to be present in the relationship, whether it be within the realm of the family group, business, friendship or lovers. But then, someone has to sacrifice when two people are as essentially different in character as these two.

Capricorns are clothed in an antique and thoroughly elegant manner, such an exalted aura being only proper as the means of radiating the Saturnine wisdom and skill through experience. The attitudes of some Goats almost whiff of mothballs. Most of them despise modern furniture, leaning more toward the traditional, the old, the lasting. Let Geminis pursue the trains of modern thought, deck their homes with plastic and shining chrome. To Cappy, the tried and true seems more sensible. No one can argue the superiority of craftsmanship. I certainly wouldn’t. But Gemini might. The Mercury-ruled can argue on behalf of any weak point and make it seem reasonable or feasible. Except to the Goat. Capricorns are rarely the victims of Gemini persuasion. Oh, it happens, but when it does, which is seldom, Cappies will catch on quickly to the manipulative mental game, sense that crooked psychological dice are being used against them, and back away, determined not to be caught twice with their caution down.

There’s more than a trace of the magnificence and serenity of Nature in Capricorns, something of the mountain goat’s dignified bearing. All this naturally draws the restless Gemini, who seeks repose of the spirit more desperately than is ever shown or admitted. The serious but kindly and gentle Capricorn man, woman or child can supply a stable, calm, and rational basis of emotional security that the Twins find both comforting and necessary, a place to fold their wings between flights. Life moves so swiftly for Gemini, it’s often a frightening blur, and on occasion, they need to have the inner frenzy stilled. Capricorn seems almost to be a resident of stillness, of silent, deep-green woods, and can bring many moments of tranquility to the Twins who stop to rest awhile. With Capricorn, Gemini may study the forms of Life and Love at Saturn’s more leisurely pace.

There are also lessons Capricorn can learn from Gemini. Innocently self-centered, intellectually independent and curious, Gemini is magically able to temporarily enter the realms of every book ever read, every movie ever seen, every symphony ever heard—to move as naturally and freely in that so-called imaginary world as if it were the kingdom of his or her birth.

Consequently, the Twins can present the Goats with the valuable knowledge of how to be more than just a visitor to the worlds of literature, music, art—for these worlds of make-believe are where they live. Gemini returns to this Earth only by karmic obligation, to re-enter a flesh prison after a long spell of daydreaming on other levels of awareness. Capricorn benefits from this, because it is so difficult for the Goat to comprehend the reality of any place but Earth, Capricorn being so rooted in it, so practical and down-to-earth on both a conscious and a subconscious level.

There are, of course, rare Capricorns whose imaginations flash during a summer thunderstorm, whose spirits wonder and wander on a quiet, star-filled night, who display a pixie sense of humor, understand about psychometry, extraterrestrial life, telepathy …….. and the Great Pyramid’s mysterious wonders. But the more typical Goat does not waste time pondering anything which can’t be taken apart and put back together again by blueprint. When Capricorns fly, they make their reservations early, to be safe. When they go by car, they take a road map, to be sure. But there are no blueprints, no maps to guide the astral traveler. Trips out-of-the-body, into worlds beyond the material or the physical senses, don’t require a reservation—only faith.

It must be admitted that Gemini, when investigating other worlds, is not necessarily motivated by faith or spiritual hunger. The Twins are usually motivated by simple curiosity, the kind that killed the legendary cat but doesn’t seem to be fatal to Mercury Birds.

A surprising number of Capricorns satisfy their soul hunger in the Saturn-approved method of becoming involved in art. They sometimes collect it, enjoy it, become patrons of artists—or paint, sketch or draw themselves. Some enter the acting profession or become dramatists. A few follow music in some manner. But whatever the Goat is or does, both feet will remain planted firmly on terra firma, and how far can you swing on a star when both feet are on the ground? It requires a bit of stretching to enter other galaxies. Still, any creative endeavor of any kind is akin to a dawning comprehension of an existence beyond the five senses, bearing a hint of a sixth, even a seventh ……. and more. The ancients claimed that Saturn is a seventh-dimensional planet. We live our daily lives in the third dimension, while Time itself, an eternal Now, as Einstein knew, is the fourth dimension. Surely the seventh must carry a higher wisdom than even Gemini can contemplate. But Saturn guards its secret well, with the usual Capricorn reticence and silence.

Capricorns are inclined to keep their own counsel. Geminis are born and natural communicators. Which is right? Both are—each in his or her own way, as long as neither interferes with the other doing his own thing. Or her own thing. With these two Sun Signs, doing their own thing is rare. But the dictionary definition of rare gives a choice between uncommon …. or very beautiful.

Gemini Woman and Capricorn Man Zodiac Compatibility

….. the island was looking out for them. It is only thus that anyone may sight those magic shores.

There it is, said Peter calmly.

Where, where?

Where all the arrows are pointing.

No matter how brief or long a time these two remain together, the Capricorn man will never be able to figure out why the Gemini woman cannot see clearly what to him is very plain: the consequences of word and action, which are, inevitably, either reward or punishment. Newton’s law of For every action, there is a reaction is obvious to him. Why can she not see it too?

To her way of looking at things, his error is in seeing the material world as reality—and imagination as a separate, amusing pastime. Her own mind is busy probing, dissecting, searching, calculating and wandering on the wind, all at once, which can cause two worlds to fuse as one—the real world and the world of imagination, of possibilities.

The responses such a mercurial attitude evoke in the Goat are multiple and consecutive. First, he responds with excitement. After a while, excitement turns to apprehension. None of these things she says and does make sense to him, from a logical, practical standpoint. Finally, his apprehension turns to severity—and then he turns off. Once Capricorn has decided a subject is not worth discussing, that’s it. He can be abrupt, terse and stern. We won’t talk about it anymore. The subject is closed. No subject is ever completely closed to the Gemini female. It is always open for new argument, fresh points of view. Yet, even with all her charm, she will have difficulty turning the Goat back on, once he’s been turned off.

Gemini’s occasional frenetic activity may seem frivolous to Cappy. She has an apparent lack of attachment in her engagement with Life. But he will find sufficient cause for admiration in studying the amazing way her mind works—untangling knots with the greatest of ease, arriving at solutions to intricate problems effortlessly. And she will, initially at least, respect his wisdom—a different matter altogether from her own quick intellect and cleverness. This can create a bond of yearning between them, which can be both purifying and strengthening. After a time, however, the essential differences in their natures may become more visible. There is a certain gravity to Capricorn which can depress her—a curious moodiness in her own make-up which can be disturbing to him. Often, their dispositions, personalities, characters and motivations are miles apart.

Let’s take their mutual families. If he’s a typical Capricorn, he is very close to Mummy, Daddy, Auntie, Uncle Hymie—and cousins by the carload. No, I didn’t forget his siblings. How could anyone forget them when they are around so much? When they aren’t around, he talks about them. If she’s a typical Gemini, she may be genuinely fond of her folks, even behaving affectionately toward them in an airy, casual way. But she does not feel quite so cemented to family ties as the Goat. She goes her multiple ways, they go theirs, and if their paths should cross now and then—great! If she refuses to allow her own relatives to smother her, obviously she isn’t going to be overjoyed about having his camping around all the time and being the main topic of conversation, even in their absence.

Then there’s the way they feel about money. They both like it. Neither of them has a thing against it. But she uses it to spread around, to spend and enjoy. He uses it as a sort of emotional tranquilizer. As long as he knows it’s in the bank, he can relax and breathe easy, confident in the knowledge that he’s a solid citizen, to whom no unpredictable financial disasters can occur. Capricorn feels about money the way gold-mining king Winfield Scott Stratton felt about gold—that the safest place to keep it is in the ground. To Cappy, the safest place to keep money is in the bank. The Gemini woman can’t comprehend what good it does to have it just sitting there doing nothing when it could be spent. Interest, my dear. It draws interest. Then she might say, with one of her sudden Mercurial twists of mind, but that only makes more money—to leave just sitting there, doing nothing. What does she mean, doing nothing? It’s working, isn’t it? And it’s giving him peace of mind. It’s giving her a bad case of frustration.

When the Capricorn man is upset, cross, or out of sorts, he pouts, becomes silent and sullen. When she is in the same state, she can be caustic, bitter and sarcastic. His moods are dark brown, indigo, black and blue, yet they are, to some extent, predictable. Hers never are. One moment she can be as gently exhilarating as a spring breeze, the next, as destructive as a tornado—first restlessly active, then passive and uncommunicative. She smiles, her expressive eyes flashing quicksilver loveliness. Enchanting. Out of nowhere, a frown line appears on her forehead. Now there’s a tear in the corner of her eye. Her lips tremble. She is beautiful when she is sad. Suddenly a joyous thought overcomes her, she leaps up, throws her arms around him and plants a kiss on his nose. Her changing moods are as flighty as Tinker Bell’s, by turns all frivolous fancy, like a butterfly, then logically concise, one after the other, in swift progression ….. first deeply intellectual, then totally abstract, almost mystical. But she does not remain in the dreamy state for long. Gemini is too much of a natural skeptic to be a true mystic.

Now and then, one comes across a Capricorn man who loves to solve mysteries, to answer riddles, and this kind of Goat will follow the Twins down the twisting, turning Mercurial bypaths and shortcuts with overwhelming fascination. She is like the multicolored, scattered pieces of a puzzle, waiting to be put together. Besides, she is dainty and feminine, with a lilting laugh, and she looks good on his arm. Capricorns do enjoy possessing a woman of the type who may be shown off to advantage in front of others. To gain the love of such an exciting creature is assuredly an achievement, an accomplishment of no small order, and the Saturn-ruled have this thing about achievement and accomplishment. The Goat must climb. Capricorn men enjoy the view from the top of the mountain. They like to be looked up to and respected. Displaying a Gemini wife or lover (with him it will probably be wife) who is several women in one, each charming, lovely, talented, bright and feminine—will cause less fortunate males to envy him. Just so he remembers the astrological advice that, regardless of her delightful femininity, her mind is masculine. This will be brought home to him on more than one occasion.

There are Capricorn men who infrequently kick up their heels in a merry dance, especially in later life when they rush to capture what they never discovered in youth, or were too shy to seek, too busy achieving and working to enjoy—just as there are some Goats who are quicker of movement, faster of speech, more careless than cautious. But these are definitely exceptions to Saturn’s rule. Most Goats are models of restraint. In fact, his romantic overtures in the beginning are often so tremulous and cautious, so slow and deliberate, that she at first inclines her head to one side, as if she were harkening to a whisper. He’ll probably be wearing clothing of subdued good taste, smile at her in a particularly engaging, lazy fashion, his gentleness and soothing stability mingled in just the right amounts to intrigue her into thinking this is one man who will understand her, and not be impatient with her.

He seems happy to please her, touchingly grateful to have a woman to please. It brings him contentment to be in love, and she senses he is not one to be unfaithful to his vows, once committed. It is at this point, perversely, that she may get nervous. It’s the word commitment. Geminis do not like even a hint of commitment. If love is real, it will last. She would like that, of course, but she would not like to sign any long-term leases on romance. Just let it develop. If it turns into a forever thing, wonderful! But to ask for a guarantee—to expect a guarantee—is not the way the game is played with Gemini.

In a physical sense, they may surprise each other by exchanging an instinctive understanding of mutual longings. Sex is not something akin to blazing fires of uncontrollable passion to either of them. Both Capricorn and Gemini seek sexual unity as a means of rest and comfort. Normally, they will not make excessive emotional demands of one another. However, there may be infrequent occasions when his need for playful physical and affectionate displays of bear hugs and the like do not find the desired response in her—or when the Gemini woman needs words of love, verbal expressions to excite her into lovemaking, and does not receive them.

Other than such areas of possible discontent and mild frustration, these two could be cozily compatible in their sexual sharing of love. Because their togetherness is influenced strongly by the 6-8 vibration, sex may be a dominant, or at least a most important factor in their relationship, and he will possibly have magnetized her in the beginning in a strongly physical way, which is not likely to fade, as long as they remain together, which will likely be permanently, surprising all their friends (and his relatives)—if there is a Sun-Moon conjunction, sextile or trine between their mutual horoscopes. Even without such planetary help, they will probably remain friends after they drift apart. Not all 6-8 Sun Sign Pattern couples do, but the Twins and the Goat very well may.

Love has a way of melting the ice from a Saturn-ruled heart. Something about this man, when he has melted, will make her tremble with anticipation of the picture of absolute Tightness he projects when he’s with her—the promise of ultimate happiness through their relationship. Later, it may seem to her that this unspoken promise has been broken, as Life begins to appear drab to the Gemini woman, who feels chained to Capricorn’s rather mundane, albeit secure, existence. Still, she should not forget that he’s the most likely candidate of all lovers and husbands to be exciting during the golden years, becoming more youthful, turning more free (more like her) the older he gets. If she will wait, that promise of Tightness may be kept after all.

Gemini is impatient and does not like to wait. But she should make the effort, because if she does, the rewards will be well worth it, and she could discover with him a great secret—that in the halting of restless movement, the true form and shape of love can be discovered, its deeper beauty revealed—and beauty is what her divided heart has been seeking since she was a little girl. Patience. Patience is the key word with this man. She must cultivate it.

There could be a Gemini woman in love with a Goat who reads this and wonders why they should need such advice. They are so very happy—right now. Well, you don’t teach someone to swim while they’re drowning. You teach them ahead of time—just in case. The word again, Twins, is: PATIENCE.

Gemini Man and Capricorn Woman Zodiac Compatibility

Keep back, lady, no one is going to catch me and make me a man …….

She had to tell him.

I am old, Peter. I am ever so much more than twenty. I grew up long ago.

You promised not to!

I couldn’t help it.

The Capricorn woman cannot help it if she is wise beyond her years, any more than the Gemini man can help it if he is little-boy-irresponsible at times. In our society, up until the Women’s Lib movement, the man was supposed to be the strong, mature and practical one. A woman was expected to be flighty, somewhat unpredictable and helpless. Now men are permitted to be sensitive, changeable, and lighthearted, and women are allowed to be steady and sensible. It’s a lucky thing for the Goat and the Twins that the gender roles have equalized. It’s quite fortunate for all of us, but especially for these two. The differences in their personalities are enough with which to cope—who needs the extra problem of trying to fit into the predesigned, prejudiced images of someone’s idea of Man and Woman? Not Gemini and Capricorn. They have plenty to keep them busy in the complicated pastime of capturing the harmony of compatibility between their two divergent natures.

The sex of the two Sun Signs is as it should be, at first glance. Hers is a feminine sign, his a masculine sign. That is, well—it’s not quite that simple. True, Capricorn is a feminine sign, but it’s ruled by Old Man Saturn, who is definitely masculine, all the way. And Gemini is a masculine sign, but ruled by tricky Mercury, the Great Pretender, a planet known for its predilection toward deceiving, capable of switching from masculine to feminine, and back to masculine, in the flicker of a firefly. That’s pretty swift. Did you ever try to time the flicker of a firefly? So, there will be problems. Not insurmountable, just on occasion, annoying. Perhaps frustrating would be a better word.

There could be times when he’ll accuse her of being callous and unsympathetic—times when she’ll accuse him of being fickle and emotionally immature. In a sense, she is those things—just as, to a certain degree, he does possess those traits. Yet, a Capricorn woman can also be affectionate, loyal, and a veritable twinkling rainbow of humor when she feels she’s on safe ground, not the shaky terrain of continual change and movement—which may open up and swallow her. (All Goats have a subliminal fear of earthquakes.) Just as a Gemini man can project a truth more glowing than she realizes if he’s allowed the freedom of expression he needs, not hounded by suspicions, depressing predictions of the future ….. and nagging. Criticism and emotional severity will never bring out the best in the Twins.

The praying mantis is an odd insect, in that the female of the species often chews off the head of the male during the mating act itself. He read about this somewhere (Geminis have read about everything), and he’s inclined to feel like a male mantis himself when the woman he loves insists on chewing up his self-confidence with rigid, unbending disapproval at the same time she’s declaring her devotion.

She may be the one who should handle the money in the family. It will probably be a family eventually, if she has any choice in the matter. Cappy seldom loans herself out for romantic interludes of a temporary type. The future intentions are usually firmly understood before she dabbles or dallies. But back to money and the probability that she’s the best bet to hold the purse strings. Not that he isn’t quick and bright with figures—sometimes too quick and bright. Most Geminis can cause a computer to turn green with envy. It’s just that she’ll have a way of spending it more sensibly, investing it more wisely, some kind of magic touch in pressing the bank balance higher and higher—whereas he may possess the knack of causing it to sink lower and lower. (Unless, of course, his Moon or Ascendent happens to be in Virgo, Taurus, Capricorn or Cancer.)

Oddly, both these Sun Signs are frequently called cold emotionally by astrology—not to mention by their friends and relatives. She, because of Saturn’s icy rulership and stern influence over her behavior—he, because of belonging to the always somewhat detached Air Element. But she is, nonetheless, capable of an earthy, even a fierce, love, despite Saturn’s iron control over her emotions and his constant admonition against releasing them until she’s certain a relationship is genuine, and has a chance of being permanent.

As for him, he’s not yet learned, in a spiritual sense, love’s true ecstasy—or its anguish. He hasn’t, esoterically and karmically, experienced its real depth. Still, he looks forward to it with a special kind of excitement—and is not anticipation magical too? It is, and his enthusiastic searching can cause her own dreams to soar, while her quiet kind of love, like a steady candle flame, lights the way for his search and offers him a soothing refuge during his periods of self-doubt.

Sometimes a Capricorn woman can be almost too good, too perfect, too reliable for a Gemini man to handle. He feels caught in the prison of her very emotional steadiness, inexplicably, as if her devotion itself were an affront to him … but only because he suspects he cannot duplicate it, which both frightens and saddens him. And so he may secretly resent her affectional dependability—and run away, perhaps, for fleeting periods, then return to bask in it again—another facet of his twin confusion in matters of the heart.

Due to their natural inclinations (and disinclinations), their sexual relationship may not always be a smoldering volcano of intensity. Yet, strangely, it may fulfill the desire they both have for physical lovemaking, to be comforting and close but not all-consuming. Even during their most intimate moments, he needs to feel his own independence and freedom. So does she, surprisingly enough. A Capricorn woman, considering Saturn’s firm hold on her, isn’t likely to abandon herself to passion with anyone, not really-truly-all-the-way. Neither does the Gemini man, who is, at the core of his nature, actually two men. One watches the emotional involvement while remaining detached from it—the other experiences. This is how the Gemini Sun Sign learns, at the Mercury level of awareness. Still this woman may somehow, in a way he can’t explain, attract him physically. To him Capricorn represents the eighth astrological house of sexual mystery, as well as the deeper secrets of life and death.

The typical Goat Girl lives in a serene, traditional world of practical activity, where wisdom is Queen. He lives in an enchanted world, peopled with myriad fancies, teeming with mental activity, where curiosity is King. It can be a lovely experiment and a beneficial experience for them to visit each other’s world, from time to time—not for the purpose of fault-finding and criticism, but as one visits any faraway kingdom, enjoying the strangeness and beauty, yet glad to return home to the familiar.

If they travel a lot he will be happier. She will be less so—(unless her Moon or Ascendent is in Gemini also, or in Aries, Leo, Sagittarius, or Pisces). This is not a woman who can pitch a tent and call it home. Because of her reverse aging process, a gift from Saturn, as she grows older, she’ll become more vulnerable to wanderlust, and the mention or thought of a trip may excite her, soften her eyes and lift her spirits—as long as she’s sure the trip or voyage will eventually lead back home. Although there are a flock of Capricorn career women, she’s still a lady who’s essentially more content to sit by the hearth, like a cricket, than lead the life of a nomad or gypsy.

The Gemini man has nothing against sitting and dreaming before the home fires himself, except when his restless yearnings periodically attack him, with little warning. He can go months, years, acting the part of the perfect family man—then, WHOOSH! a spring breeze comes along—or even a winter wind—to sweep him and his dreams into a new adventure, even if it’s only a trip to a neighboring city, where he can lose himself for a few days in order to find himself again.

As with many 6-8 Sun Sign Patterns, these two probably met only when someone else introduced them or brought them together in some way. It’s seldom that Gemini and Capricorn gravitate toward each other magnetically, on their own—unless her Sun was trining his Moon at birth, or vice versa, or both. Once they do notice each other, however, the 6-8 vibration begins to vibrate between them, steadily increasing in strength.

A Gemini man is capable of a great deal of badinage, but it’s often only used as camouflage. He feels people would never believe the naked truth anyway. It’s too obvious. And so, he disguises it. I know that’s confusing, but most everything about Gemini is confusing. A little of this and a little of that. Geminis are never simple personalities. Take Donald Trump. Take Joan Rivers. Take Bob Dylan. Take all six of these Geminis—and what have you? Double images, reflecting every facet of sunlight and shadow ….. arousing contempt, hatred, envy, disapproval, awe, admiration, respect and love. This is what Cappy is in for with her Twin lover or husband.

The mercurial truth of the Twins can always be seen from two polarized points of view. But Cappy leans toward total honesty, which allows little or no room for a two-sided truth. Her Gemini man may feel her attitude is too harsh, for the continuation of his free flow of ideas depends upon leaving open ends for individual interpretation, now and then. He doesn’t know where the ideas come from, but they never stop, and they are the essence of his very being. To stifle his freedom of thought and expression is not the way to love this man.

She’ll want him to seek a profession or a career with some future promise, as well as a reasonable present financial return, and she’ll probably insist that they eventually own their own home. Cappy isn’t big on antlike, apartment dwelling or condominiums. He doesn’t really need that sort of security, since roots are not normally a Gemini requirement. He’s happier with a million dollars on paper and a hundred in the bank than with a hundred dollars on paper and a million in the bank. The former offers more challenge. She feels precisely the opposite. Gemini feels that his ideas, his imagination, are the most bankable assets he owns. He doesn’t understand her kind of security needs, not really—and perhaps he never will. Even the Gemini male with a more cautious Virgo, Cancer or Capricorn Ascendent or Moon Sign will suddenly, someday, without warning, toss away the entire balance in the bank for some new idea, dream, goal or prospect that’s popped into his head. (One of his heads.)

If their relationship begins to break apart, it won’t be easy for the Goat Girl to let go. After a Capricorn woman gives herself completely to a man, she cannot take back her gift without great pain. She cannot change as easily as he. When she loves, she intends it to be a forever thing. But if and when she does decide that her forever has come to a dead-end street, there will usually be no hysterical scenes of weeping and accusation, no excessive emotional displays. She will simply turn, hide her tears, walk away and not come back. No Sun Sign can be so unsentimental (on the surface) as Capricorn, when emotional surgery must be performed and there is no other solution possible. But … as she walks away, her gentle heart will be breaking, and her torment will be all the more agonizing because she keeps it inside … and bears it alone.

The Gemini man cries, with Whittier, How little I have gained—how vast the unattained!—then weeps for experiences lost, opportunities wasted, chances tossed away … love, unrequited, misplaced, or allowed to drift into emptiness. Yet, swiftly will follow the Gemini three-cornered grin, and Mercury’s quicksilver laugh. Tomorrow is a bright, new day of promise! Who knows what magic it may hold? Maybe … yes, maybe … even a reconciliation—forgiveness from his shy Goat Girl, and the chance to try again, this time treating her heart more tenderly.

Should their love affair or marriage end, Cappy will be slower to smile, and as for tomorrow being brighter—tomorrow will seem to her sad, Saturnine spirit a trillion light-years away. That’s why she’ll try harder to make the relationship work. With Saturn in her corner, she can build love strong enough to withstand the temporary tornadoes of disagreement.
