Taurus and Scorpio

The more quickly this horror is disposed of the better.

It is not, of course, always a horror, although the potential is there. When they really try, Taurus and Scorpio often get on well together, sometimes superbly. If the Moon Sign of one is conjunct, sextile or trine to the other’s Sun, they can chart new worlds of the mind or spirit, in space or on the ground. It can be a beautiful, lasting relationship in science, literature, the arts—or in simple human closeness. When they have a negative aspect between their Suns and Moons, they will remain opposed and powerful enemies, until one or both of them evolve to the concepts of tolerance, compassion and unselfishness.

As with all 7-7 Sun Sign Patterns, Scorpio and Taurus each sense in the other the missing qualities that would make him (or her) whole and complete. The magnetic polarity of their opposition on the astrological wheel tugs on them rather firmly—for good or evil. Scorpio is everything Taurus wants to be. And Taurus is everything Scorpio would like to be. However, each of them would almost rather literally be caught dead than admit it. Scorpio is not a dual sign, yet the Eagles live in two worlds at the same moment—the world of wherever their compulsive soul-yearning takes them and the visible, material world, believed in and seen by ordinary mortals. Scorpios float somewhere between both, a law unto themselves, as inscrutable as the Great Pyramid of Giza. To disguise themselves, and to keep people from seeing them dangling in the air like that, most Scorpios wear a mask. It could be a mask of sweet gentleness, icy detachment or cold practicality. But beneath it, they are all smoldering, boiling, bubbling cauldrons of intense emotion.

Taurus owns no false faces. Like the other Earth Signs, the Bulls don’t particularly like to dress up on Halloween—either to fool people or to frighten them. They just want to make them laugh (and make them behave). The Bulls live firmly and tangibly in one world only—Earth. Good old, familiar, safe Terra Firma. They are what they are, and nothing or no one will ever change them from what they were born to be—veritable mountains of dependability, courage, patience and determination. Although the average Taureans weren’t born with Scorpio’s power of penetration and steely will, nor the Eagle’s awesome regenerative potential, they do embody the true and genuine inner calm Scorpio longs to possess, the total emotional control Pluto-ruled men and women only pretend to own. It is for this that Scorp envies the Venus-ruled Taureans. (Now and then, a Bull is born whose Moon and Ascendent are in Scorpio—then look out! I mean, this person is a powerhouse supreme.)

As for the typical Bulls, they wouldn’t bother to plod across the street to either own or imitate Pluto’s emotional intensity, but they would trudge thousands of miles, even leap over barbed wire fences—uphill, if necessary (if no one was looking)—to gain Scorp’s ability to know without any kind of calculation … to simply know. Taureans would give all their gold to be able, like the Eagles, to stare into someone’s soul and learn all that person’s secrets. If only they could master this ability, the Bulls could build their empires faster. And if Scorpio could master, in turn, the Taurean impassivity toward Life’s magnetic emotional storms, they could accomplish their mysterious purposes with far less toll on the inner psyche.

Naturally, when these two get together in any sort of association—business, family, friendship or love—and decide to lend each other the use of their individual talents and virtues, working side by side, they can change destiny.

A blend of their qualities through a close relation-ship is never bland. It can tremble and shake with both highs and lows. I have a Taurus friend with a Scorpio brother, and they’re equally devoted to their Piscean mother. But when the Bull moved into a new house, he was too busy with the pressures of several financial crises to get in touch with his Neptune mother right away. Besides, he didn’t want to worry her with his personal problems. One night, the Bull and his wife invited the Scorpio brother for dinner, and he accepted. They prepared his favorite meal, the children were all washed, and brushed, and excited about seeing their uncle—but he didn’t arrive. When they called his home, he wasn’t in. The puzzling Pluto silence continued for several days. Then one morning, a note came in the mail from the missing Scorpion relative. It said, simply: There’s a very lonely lady in the Bronx who hasn’t heard from you in too long a time. After you get in touch with her, I’ll be happy to come for dinner.

The direct, uncomplicated Bull was red-flagged into fury over his brother’s undeniably devious behavior. Why didn’t he just come right out and say he was angry when he was first invited to the house instead of pulling the mystery routine and the silent treatment?

Why? Because he’s a Scorp, and that’s the way Scorpios are. Simple directness has no sting to it, you see, and this Eagle was determined to sting his sibling. The surprise element is necessary for completely effective Pluto retaliation. Yet, shortly afterwards, when the Bull’s financial woes had reached the emergency stage, the Scorp offered to lend his brother the cash he needed, without even being asked. That’s also the way Scorpios are.

One of the qualities Taurus possesses, and Scorpio usually lacks, is a sense of the ridiculous. There are Eagles who possess a fine sense of humor, but it’s seldom along the lines of the absurd. Humor is Nature’s great balancer. It bestows a sane perspective to life, and helps the Bulls avoid the twin (no relation to Gemini!) destructive influences of self-pity and egocentricity. When you laugh, you’re surrounded with warm, happy people. A joke attracts a crowd. And when you laugh at yourself, everyone adores you—because you’ve made yourself as human and fallible as they know they are themselves, allowing them to feel, for a brief moment, not so aware of their own vulnerability. Perhaps the lack of such easy and spontaneous humor, of the type which attracts a crowd, is why Scorpios often prefer to travel alone and incognito. It’s difficult for the Pluto-ruled to feign fallibility. Besides, they have no need to be adored.

A Bull might approach a Scorpion in a typically playful (and rare talkative) mood, and call out: Hey! Why are you hiding behind that bushy beard and the dark shades? Are you afraid people will find out you’re really Barnabas the Vampire? I’ve got it! The beard and glasses make you feel safe, is that right, Barny? (If the Scorp is a lady Eagle, substitute Vampy for Barny—sans the beard, of course.)

Right, Barny? (Or Vampy.) They replace the security blanket you chewed on and took to bed as a kid. (The Bull is thinking of his or her own blanket-Teddy-Bear stage of childhood.)

Scorpio will not laugh. The Scorpion will just murmur quietly, without so much as the twitch of a whisker, Perhaps.

But Taurus persists. No kidding? Looking like one of the Smith Brothers on the cough drop box makes you feel secure? Whereupon, Scorpio will smile Pluto’s faint smile of warning, prior to deadly attack, and remark in deep, Velveeta cheese tones …

You’re jealous, aren’t you? Jealous that I have a beard, and you don’t. Is it because a beard symbolizes masculinity and you’re sensitive about that, for some reason?

Now, nothing in heaven or hell can wound the ultra-virile Bull as cruelly as an insinuation, in jest or otherwise, of that nature. The Scorpion has struck again, whether the name is Barnabas the Vampire, alias Vampy or Barny—or Leonard the accountant. The Eagle has drawn blood. Taurus retreats, hurt and puzzled that a simple, good-natured joke laid an egg, floundering in water over any Bull’s head. Of course, when pushed too far, the Taureans won’t retreat. They’ll paw the ground, snort—and charge—totally destroying the Scorpion, who will then, in his (or her) final moments, whip around that dangerous tail, deliver the fatal sting—and they’ll both fall down dead. Naturally, I’m referring to an imaginary scene between the Nature symbols of the two Sun Signs. In a similar human encounter, you may translate it your own way.

Speaking of Nature symbols, I trust the reader is not confused by the reference to Pluto-ruled people as both Scorpion and Eagle. An Eagle is a Scorpion regenerated into the higher octave of his or her own Superconscious, capable of projecting all the finer, positive qualities of the Sun Sign. Like a kind of reincarnation within a reincarnation, so to speak. All Scorpio people are Eagles part of the time. If they keep trying, they can remain on this high level permanently, lifted from the Scorpion’s sands, into the Eagle’s skies of enlightenment, through aspiration—on the wings of the repudiation of revenge, soaring into a dedication to defend the helpless.

Many Scorps do appreciate humor, but normally only when it can be seen or projected in an impersonal way. Such as on stage or screen, or among friends—watching. Very few Scorpions find it hilarious when the giggles are at their own expense, and they’re not cheery backslapper types, as the Bulls can be, when they’re feeling especially jolly. The typical Scorp will chuckle sincerely at funnies only when in the company of good and trusted friends.

Scorpio Mike Nichols, American comedy writer, author, performer and director (a rather large hunk of comedic talent), doesn’t exactly have a reputation for being a continual bag of laughs in his personal life when the joke is on him.

Scorpio and Taurus do have some things in common. They both have a tendency to be reserved with strangers. Neither of them are blabbermouths, and neither is inclined to make long speeches unless there’s something important to say. Also, both equally dislike being rudely questioned by inquisitive people. But their reactions to such intrusions are quite different. Scorpio will use subtle strategies to keep his (or her) secrets secret. When subtlety fails, the Scorpio will simply lie, justifying it as an inalienable right when dealing with those who would violate his (or her) sacred privacy. (At any other time, Scorpios are the very souls of integrity, however.) The silent implication is: You pried into my personal affairs, and you got what you deserved. (The snooper should be grateful for the lie. It’s better than receiving a sting from the Scorpion tail. Sometimes, both defense measures are employed, simultaneously.)

The Bulls have an equal sense of privacy, and you won’t find them telling all they know, any more than Scorps do. But the Bulls are not subtle, and they’ll seldom bother with a lie. Taurus will squelch a prying person directly, with a plain statement of fact, like: Mind your own business, jerk, and buzz off.

No one can say no more emphatically, and mean it, than Taurus and Scorpio. If they say it to each other, that’s the end. But when they say yes to one another, a solid, lasting friendship will develop. Because the Bulls and Eagles have one more thing in common. Loyalty. For those they love and trust, they’ll move mountains, against any odds. They both consider a kindness exactly as they consider a loan at the bank—to be paid back promptly, with interest.

Taurus Woman and Scorpio Man

Was that boy asleep, or did he stand waiting… with his dagger in his hand?

There was no way of knowing… .

In the beginning, a Taurus woman may be wary of accepting the silent invitation in the hypnotic eyes of a Scorpio man. She’s heard some disturbing rumors about him. She’s been told he’s ruthless and sexy. Admittedly, that’s a strong combination, and it could make anyone a little cautious.

A Scorpio male has many shining virtues to offset his dark vices, but he is not a wide-eyed idealist with a naive trust in the goodness of human nature. Through the magic window of his penetrating Pluto gaze, he sees too much of human nature to have much faith in its goodness. He has more faith in his own instinct for truth and decency. In God he trusts. Of everyone else he is suspicious. That’s why he appears to be ruthless. Yet, if he’s an Eagle (instead of the Grey Lizard or Stinging Scorpion I described in the Scorpio chapter of my first book Sun Signs) he only destroys the enemies who would destroy him or the helpless (and he knows which ones they are). Those who merely step on the Scorpion’s tail by accident he will just sting lightly, to deliver Pluto’s message that they are not ever to again impose on him—or upon a defenseless friend. Then he nobly allows them to go on their way, unharmed. It’s a lesson. That’s all. Learn it is his unspoken warning to the offender—or beware of the next encounter.

Actually, his actions are impeccably fair and just, never petty—and always in line with his own strict ethics. Scorpio never asks of anyone what he is not prepared and willing to give of himself. It’s a philosophy similar to the code of that family-oriented society called the Mothers And Fathers Intellectual Association, which is sometimes abbreviated by its five initials, and symbolized by a mythical, legendary Black Hand. With Scorpio, as with this society, the black hand symbolizes protection for the weak, the poor and the helpless, as much as it symbolizes a threat to the disloyal, the greedy, the pushy and the snoopy. At least, these were the noble Robin Hood-like sentiments in the beginning, at the society’s birth in the eighteenth century, in Sicily, before the sincerity of the motive became stained by decades of dark deeds.

Many people think of Robin Hood himself as a Sagittarian. He was certainly an expert archer, and probably also a Sun Sign Archer, but I’ve personally always felt that his Moon was in Scorpio. Was Robin Hood ruthless in his attempts to distribute the wealth? Only the bad guys and the wealthy thought so.

Just as every individual member of the Mothers And Fathers Intellectual Association is not above reproach, every individual Scorpion is not above reproach. There are, in both groups, some well-intentioned and some evil souls. However, here we’re considering the average Scorp, and playing the percentages.

So, let’s say the Taurus woman soon loses her initial timidity concerning the Scorpio man’s ruthlessness.

In reality, the Bull fears very little which is tangible. Besides, he’s already made her feel warm and secure by sending her brother to summer camp, bringing her mother flowers, treating her like a lady, and treating her father as an older and wiser senior citizen—a man of respect. But Taurus is not quite so brave when it comes to the intangible, the unseen or the emotional—so how about the rumors of his sexiness?

What can I tell you? Like I said, they are probably true. A Scorpio male is not an impotent eunuch, or a bashful, stuttering schoolboy. He is, in every sense, a man. He’s as virile as Aries, as sentimental as Libra, as passionate as Leo, as sensitive as Pisces, and as sensual as the Taurus woman herself. If you add that all up, and it comes out as one word—sexy—well, is that something to complain about? True, an astrologically unenlightened woman might naturally fear such a strong masculine charisma. But what’s to fear? This man doesn’t run around seducing innocent damsels, as some astrology books would have you believe. It would be difficult to make an accurate survey of such a thing, of course, but any violated females would quite probably be Scorpio’s willing victims.

To a Taurus woman, physical proof of her deepest feelings is a necessity of Life. So the alleged Scorpio sexiness shouldn’t deter her from examining the possibilities of experiencing Life and Love with this man. If she does, you can be sure she’ll experience both in all of their various facets, nuances, shades and tones. What Scorpio finds fascinating, he probes and penetrates to its deepest meaning. What he finds unworthy, he causes to disappear by coldly ignoring it, as if it didn’t exist. Eventually, it doesn’t—at least, not in his own awareness, or in his immediate vicinity. That goes for both people and things. Obviously then, the problem lies in being sure they both find the same things and people interesting—and the same ones boring. Otherwise, there can be crossed wires, crossed purposes and possible emotional chaos. A Taurus woman can get attached like glue to a person or an object, and it could be disconcerting to have a dear friend or relative, a treasured cream pitcher or hooked rug, just disappear into thin air because the man you love doesn’t share your enthusiasm or taste.

If their birth charts indicate a harmonious Luminary aspect between them (Sun and Moon) they’ll share the same experiences, and blend their polarized individual personalities into one powerful vibration. If not, well maybe a little of that caution she felt initially will be called for, after all.

Since this is a 7-7 vibratory pattern, he has what she needs, and she has what he wants—and will probably get—(explained in the previous section more clearly). Naturally, an attraction like that will cause these two to be pulled together like bar magnets when they meet, assuming they’re both free, willing and able to tackle a rich relationship. Sometimes, even assuming they’re not. Did you ever try to keep two bar magnets from clinging together? Pick up a pair at the hardware store and experiment. It will be an excellent illustration of the magnetic law of attraction and repulsion in astrological romantic compatibility.

A Taurus woman is practical. She’s not flighty, impulsive, or a misty dreamer. In her steady heart, passion is not easily or quickly aroused. It grows slowly into fullness. But once her senses are caught by someone, when she finds herself noticing the scent of his hair, trembling at the sound of his voice, melting at the sight of his walk or his smile, and quivering inside when he touches her hand, her practical common sense may be suspended indefinitely. Despite her natural earthy stability, a Taurus woman in love is more vulnerable than a female Fish, and that’s pretty vulnerable.

She was born under a Fixed Sign, so she won’t change her mind, once she recognizes her lover as the man she’s been waiting for (sometimes for years). If he’s a Scorpio, she can count on his loyalty matching hers (unless they have serious afflictions between their mutual charts). She’s possessive in love, but that’s not quite the same thing as sudden flares of unreasonable jealousy. Taurus is not jealous. Jealousy is an emotion that has roots in a basic insecurity. Possessiveness describes the pride a Taurean takes in anything she owns—and the devotion she lavishes upon it, whether it’s a man, or an heirloom bedspread.

A Scorpio male will understand the difference between these two words, and he’ll give her very little reason to experience jealousy, while he rather enjoys her possessiveness. For all his reputation as a sex symbol, this man seldom looks upon sex as a pleasant pastime or a series of casual encounters. To him, sex is the reason for both life and death, the doorway to each, the one mystery he may never completely solve. It is, therefore, very close to being a religion to him. Which means that, when he finds the right partner, his concept of sex will be pure, though intense, and experimental promiscuity is not part of that concept. Therefore, regardless of astrological rumors, he’s less likely than most men to be unfaithful to the woman he loves, and if she was born under an Earth or Water Sign, the chances are even smaller that he will deceive her. The earthy Taurus woman understands the passion that rages and burns in Scorpio, perhaps better than any other female, and she’ll respond with a matching intensity of physical expression. However, although she may welcome his passionate lovemaking, she may not be as enthusiastic about his passionate convictions outside their physical relationship.

He’s a mysterious blend of cool reason and hot emotion, though he chooses to expose only the former, keeping the latter a dark secret. She’ll approve of his cool reason, his surface poise and his practicality, because they match her own. But hot emotions leave her cold—and disapproving. Scorpio becomes involved through his emotions, which, like the still waters of his Sun Sign, run very deep. From deep, it’s only a step to passionate involvement. Whether it’s politics, neighbors, career, ecology, space travel, relatives, abortion, renewable energy—whatever the issue—Scorpio takes a passionate, emotional stand—or shows his disinterest unmistakably. Taurus has little sympathy for the violent extremes of love and hate. To her, it’s an exhausting and unnecessary strain on the nerves. This will be the underlying cause, in one form or another, behind all their disagreements, major or minor.

For the benefit of the Taurus woman who is sad and lonely, because she’s had a quarrel with a Scorpion she loves, I’ll reveal one of his secrets to her, contained within a verse I once wrote, in an attempt to help any unsuspecting soul, who’s troubled by being unable to solve this man’s Pluto mystery. He is speaking to her… .

your icy voice put out the stars
it cracked my heart, and broke it in splinters
your tone as cold as Colorado winters

but I promise to soon forget
the contract we almost made … you’ll feel
the swift response of an equal
as the dream begins to fade
I’ll drown you in pseudo kindness
and a casual, friendly glance
I can almost imagine your blindness
as I watch and wait
for the chance
to suddenly—cruelly—make you know
how easy it was to let you go<a href=#filepos952948″>*

It’s called The Sting of the Scorpion. And here’s the secret I promised to reveal to the Taurus lady. It wasn’t easy for him to let her go. It tore him apart. But he hid the pain of his own grief beneath the frozen features of Scorpio detachment. Now that she’s been told, she can, perhaps, penetrate his disguise and heal those broken splinters if she remembers this: when she’s angry, a Taurus woman can truly project an icy voice and a cold tone. How can she see how he feels inside, while she’s wearing the blinders of stubbornness? The only thing that kind of attitude will bring is the swift response of an equal—and he is her equal. In Fixity… . in patience… . in loyalty … but also in remembering hurt… . and in the need to learn how to forgive.

Taurus Man and Scorpio Woman

He was a brave man; but for a moment he had to
stop there and wipe his brow, which was dripping
like a candle. Then silently he let himself go into the unknown.

A Taurus man who feels himself sinking into the mysterious underworld of a Scorpio female’s magnetic attraction, is either headed for what may be the most traumatic experience of his life—or the most uplifting. The outcome will definitely not be neutral.

It might be the former, if there’s a negative aspect between the Sun and Moon in their respective horoscopes. But if these two Luminaries are in a harmonious relationship, it could very well be the latter. Assuming everything is cool with their planets, it’s all right for him to sink in, but he might want to tuck a copy of the Bible under his arm, as he falls into the immeasurable depth of her love. It’s really a good idea to study the Holy Works before becoming involved with this woman on an intimate basis. No matter what they say or do, Scorpios can always find a passage in the Scriptures to justify themselves. And they’ll quote it, to make sure you know their motives are blameless. Not only are they experts on both the Old and New Testaments, but they also have the psychic ability to read between the lines—and what Scorpio finds between the lines is quite a testament in itself.

Not every Scorpio woman has the Bible committed to memory, of course, but it won’t hurt to take heed of the possibility. If she doesn’t quote the Scriptures when she’s loving him, or stinging him, she may have memorized large chunks of the Tibetan Book of the Dead. At the very least, she may have dropped into a couple of Hare Krishna meetings, or had an Egyptian scarab tattooed somewhere on her body, visible only to the naked eye. No? Then check her dressing table (if you can find the key to unlock it) and see if she has a pack of tarot cards, or a well-thumbed copy of the I Ching tucked in among her love potions, exotic perfumes and aphrodisiacs.

I don’t mean to imply that this woman’s nature is too hot for a Taurean man to handle, or her psyche too coolly mysterious for him to penetrate. After all, that silent film star Rudolph Valentino, the sheik to end all sheiks was a Taurus. So the Bull is quite capable of sneaking into a Scorpio woman’s tent, under the stars, with his nostrils dilating romantically. Since she’s chemically attracted to the opposite sex of her opposite Sun Sign (Taurus) she may even run out of the tent barefoot to meet him. If she does, she’ll resemble Queen Nefertiti herself, in the moonlight. That’s what makes it all so special. In the quiet moments of their aloneness together, a Scorpio woman can become to her Taurus man the image of every love goddess down through the ages. In the daytime, she slips on her Scorpion mask and becomes Lilly, the shy librarian—Millie, the modest maiden—or Laurie, little-girl-lost.

Despite her apparent tranquility and surface sweetness, this is not a female who is easy to live with. She’s fascinating, feminine, intelligent, loyal and passionate. But she is not an innocent, wide-eyed maiden who is willing to become a love object. Scorpio lives in the emotions, but sometimes they’re bottled up inside for years. That’s why she seems so docile, then suddenly, with no warning, she erupts into boiling anger—or disappears into frozen silence, which is even harder to cope with and certainly more difficult to understand.

For a time, she’ll go along with what her man says, unless he becomes too demanding. Then she’ll show her hidden strength. Tact and compromise are not her strong points. For that matter, they’re not his either. Neither Taurus nor Scorpio has much idea of what it’s like to see the other person’s point of view. No, that’s not quite right. Taurus has trouble seeing another point of view. Scorpio sees it quite clearly, with her uncanny perception. But she still prefers her own wishes to what her ouija board may tell her someone else’s are. They’ll have to make some adjustments here, or spend their lives together with their backs turned, arms crossed, and mouths sealed in stubborn silence. Both of them were born under a Fixed Sign. But both of them were also born under a feminine sign, so they can be equally gentle and sympathetic, when they choose to use these negative vibrations, which are the feminine compensations for the negative qualities of their Sun Signs.

He’s ruled by Venus, the planet of peace and love. She’s ruled by Pluto, the planet of explosive passion and mystery. Their sexual compatibility, therefore, is usually full of strange surprises and sensual ecstasies. She associates sex with the mystery of her own existence, and respects it as a sacred act of love. She also has a devouring curiosity about its secret implications, which can only be satisfied by ever deeper intimacy with the man she loves, although there will always be an aura of purity about her desires. Sex is never cheap to a Scorpio woman, and she’ll insist on being loved for her whole self, not just for her physical appeal. So will he.

The Taurus man may never totally comprehend their lovemaking in as much depth as she does, but that certainly won’t prevent his enjoyment of it. To the Bull, as to the Scorpion, sexual expression is an act of worship, a constant renewal of spiritual strength, through the giving and receiving of passion between them. However, sex alone is never enough for a lasting union, even when it’s as fulfilling as it normally is with Taurus and Scorpio in their 7-7 Sun Sign Pattern relationship. Other facets of their love will need constant attention. It’s never easy for these two to reconcile after a serious quarrel. Their mutual Fixed vibration keeps them apart. Scorpio says, I will forgive. But I cannot overlook. Taurus varies this only slightly, and says, I will forgive. But I can never forget. They’re both lying to themselves. What they really mean is, I can’t forgive. Because, true forgiveness does overlook, and true forgiveness does forget. The refusal to truly forgive is a dark and evil thing. The seeds thus planted in the heart will grow into cold and lonely isolation, premature aging, chronic disease and emotional neurosis, as surely as an acorn will grow into a giant oak tree.

His comic sense may be another cause for tension between them. The Bull needs an occasional practical joke and a constant touch of humor to make his life, which is serious enough, bright and bearable. She may laugh at his comic remarks, but her eyes won’t be smiling, and he’ll soon learn she can’t stand to be teased, because she’s never been able to really laugh at herself. His rich humor is what makes him such a warm human being. Instead of being annoyed by it, if she will let some of his laughter linger in her heart, she might find it’s the extra dimension she needs to color her own emotions a few shades lighter.

The love vibration between Taurus and Scorpio is perfectly symbolized by the strange pilgrimage of Taurean silent screen idol Rudolph Valentino’s much discussed Mystery Woman who was surely Scorpio (which might be a clue to her identity). Yes, she could only have been a deeply bereaved Scorpio woman, conceiving Life, Love, sex and death to be inseparable, as she made her lonely visits to her Taurus lover’s grave, dressed completely in black, her face covered by a veil … … to offer the memory flowers of her intense passion, grief and loyalty … … each year, with unwavering faithfulness, on the anniversary of his death.

That’s the way it is with Taurus and Scorpio. No light flirtation, or casual affair. It will be frigid disinterest, total disaster—or a devotion which will last a lifetime, and beyond that, past forever. All—or nothing at all. The Bible will come in handy, either way.
