Health
(Please note that this is an astrological perspective on health and not a medical one. In days of yore there was no difference, both these perspectives were identical. But these days there could be quite a difference. For a medical perspective, please consult your doctor or health practitioner.)
Health is good this year, as we mentioned. Until May 11 there is only one long-term planet in stressful alignment with you (and most of you won’t even feel this: those of you born late in the sign of Libra – October 17–22 – will feel it the most strongly). After May 11 Jupiter will make stressful aspects – but Jupiter’s stresses tend to be mild. Health is good.
Your 6th house of health is very prominent this year. So, you are focused on this area. Generally this is a good thing, but this year you could be overdoing it. The tendency is to magnify little things into big things. Be careful of such hypochondria. It is probably better to focus on healthy lifestyles and regimes than to over-focus on minor ailments.

Important foot reflexology points for the year ahead
Try to massage all of the foot on a regular basis – the top of the foot as well as the bottom – but pay extra attention to the points highlighted on the chart. When you massage, be aware of ‘sore spots’ as these need special attention. It’s also a good idea to massage the ankles and below them.
- The kidneys and hips are always important for Libra, and regular hip massage should be part of your normal health regime. It will not only strengthen the kidneys and hips but the lower back as well.

- The liver and thighs. These have only become important since December 30 last year, when Jupiter entered your 6th house. They remain an important area until May 11 (and also from October 29 to December 21). The reflexes are shown above. - The heart is always very important for those of you born late in the sign of Libra – October 17 to 22. For the rest of you, the heart becomes important from May 11 to October 29 and from December 21 onwards, and it will be important next year too. The reflex is shown above. Chest massage – especially of the breastbone and upper rib cage – strengthens the heart. The important thing with the heart is to avoid worry and anxiety, the two emotions that stress it out. Replace worry with faith. Meditation is a big help here.

Your health planet is in a Water sign – and this has been the case for the past ten years. Thus you have a good connection to the healing powers of the Water element – and these are considerable. Water applied to any area of the body that bothers you should be effective. Let the water – from the tap or the shower – flow over the afflicted area.
Home and Family
Your 4th house has been a house of power for the past twenty or so years and is still prominent in the year ahead. Pluto has been occupying this house and Pluto’s job is to transform – to renew things through death and new birth. By now (Pluto is getting ready to move out of this house and his job seems to be done) most of you are in new home and family conditions. There have been deaths in the family – literally and figuratively. There have been many life and death dramas over the years. The purpose was to give birth to your ideal home and ideal domestic situation.
There have been deaths in the family but also new births to balance things out. Nature always compensates. If it takes something it replaces it with something else. Home and family (and your overall emotional life) are much better now.
Pluto is your financial planet, and his presence in the 4th house shows many things. You earn money from home, through family and family connections. There is good family support. You spend on the home but can also earn from here. Over the years you’ve been making the home as much a place of business as a home. Home offices have been set up, and perhaps home-based businesses as well.
Your emotional life has been undergoing a detox for many years as well. And by now it is much more pure – more clean – than it has been.
Pluto in the 4th house indicates that there have been many renovations of the home over the years, and more could happen this year too. If you’re planning such work, January 25 to March 6 would be a good time.
A move was more likely in than now. There is nothing against it though – but nothing that especially supports it.
A parent or parent figure in your life has faced many near-death kinds of experiences over the years, and January 25 to March 6 could bring more of the same. This parent or parent figure will have a good financial year – this is his or her focus. This parent or parent figure could move (or enjoy the fortunate purchase or sale of a home) from May 11 onwards. (This move could also happen next year.) If the parent or parent figure is of childbearing age, there is greater fertility after May 11.
Siblings or sibling figures could move this year. Often it is not a literal move but the acquisition of another home, or the expansion or renovation of the existing home, or buying expensive items for the home. The effect is ‘as if’ they have moved. Their marriages or existing relationships gets tested from August 20 onwards.
Children and children figures in your life are difficult to handle as they seem very rebellious and on edge this year. They could have moved multiple times in recent years, and it can happen in coming years too. They are restless, have an intense desire for change and for breaking with the status quo. Their emotional lives are not stable. Meditation will be a big help for them.
Grandchildren, if you have them, are having a quiet, stable home and family year.
Finance and Career
Your money house is not prominent this year – not a house of power. This has been the case for some years now and tends to the status quo. You are basically content with things as they are and have no special need to make dramatic changes or to overly focus here. The financial upheavals of don’t seem to have affected you too much, and probably led to greater wealth.
Pluto, your financial planet, has been in Capricorn (and your 4th house) for decades now, and will remain there in the year ahead. The financial planet in Capricorn signals sound financial judgement. It gives a long-term perspective on wealth. You have a good sense of what an investment will be worth many years down the road. You take a methodical step-by-step approach to wealth. You are thinking long term and are not especially interested in the ‘fast buck’. You manage what you have efficiently. This money-management skill is perhaps just as important as increased earnings. You make good use of what you have.
This position favours long-term savings and investment plans. You have a disciplined approach to money. If you still haven’t set up such a plan, the year ahead is still good for it.
Pluto rules inheritance. And many of you have received an inheritance over the past years. But in many cases no one has to actually die: you can be named in someone’s will or be appointed to some administrative position in an estate. Many Libras are involved in the arts and antiques business. Thus, many deal with estates. These still seem profitable in the year ahead.
Pluto in your 4th house of home and family shows that you spend much on the home and family and earn from here as well. We discussed this earlier. Family support has been good. Family and family connections are important financially.
Jupiter has been in your 6th house of health and work since the end of . This shows a fabulous job opportunity happening. A dream job.
This is not an especially strong career year. Your 10th house is basically empty. Only short-term planets move through there and their impact is temporary. Your 4th house of home and family is stronger than your 10th house of career. In addition, most of the long-term planets are in the night side – the bottom half – of your chart. So this is a year for cultivating emotional wellness and harmony and for dealing with home and family issues. However, you can succeed in your career from your point of emotional harmony. The problem is that the interest – the desire – for outward success is not there.
The Moon as your career planet reinforces this reading. Generically, the Moon rules home and family. So for most of you this is your real career (even if you are involved in worldly things) – home and family come first.
Love and Social Life
The year ahead – especially the latter part of the year – is going to be a great love year. Benevolent Jupiter will enter your 7th house on May 11. He will be there until October 29 and then return on December 21, spending approximately half the year in your 7th house of love.
So, singles are likely to marry or be involved in a relationship that is ‘like’ a marriage. This is especially so for those working on the first marriage. In general your social circle will expand. You will be meeting new and significant people. You will meet interesting people in your neighbourhood – people who were always there, but you’ve never met. There will be more socializing with neighbours, siblings and sibling figures.
Generically Jupiter rules foreigners, religious people and academics. You find these people alluring now. You like people you can learn from. We see this in other ways too. Mars, your love planet, will spend a lot of time (over four months) in your 9th house, reinforcing what we say here.
You have the aspects this year of someone who falls in love with their professor, minister, priest or imam – your worship leader or teacher. Love opportunities could happen in foreign lands or at religious or educational functions. People at school or in your place of worship can play Cupid. Siblings, sibling figures and neighbours could also play Cupid.
The physical aspects of love are always important, but you need more than that these days. There has to be a meeting of minds. You don’t have to agree on every point but you should at least be on the same page. More relationships fail because of philosophical incompatibility than for any other reason. The other reasons are just the ‘excuses’ that mask the philosophical problems.
For those in or working on the second marriage this is also a good social year. If you are single, marriage could happen. If you are already married, there is more romance in the marriage.
Those in or working on the third marriage will have an expansive social life, but the love life is quiet. Those who are married will tend to stay married, and singles will tend to stay single.
You tend to be a love-at-first-sight kind of person by nature, and this year even more so. You go after what you want. You don’t play games. If you like someone they know about it.
Those already in a relationship can enhance their relationship by taking courses – in subjects that interest you – as a couple. A foreign trip will also enhance an existing relationship. Worshipping together as a couple will also do much to deepen your relationship.
Self-improvement
Neptune has been in your 6th house of health for many years, so you are in a cycle for exploring the spiritual dimensions of health. There is a very strong and intimate connection between the two things. The body is only the place where disease happens, but it never originates there. Always, without exception, it has its origins in the more subtle regions – the realms of thought and feeling. So, while it is good to relieve symptoms (it relieves suffering) we shouldn’t confuse this with a cure. Cure only happens when both the symptoms and their underlying root causes are dealt with. These root causes can only be dealt with spiritually. This is the realm of spiritual healing.
Spiritual disconnection – disconnection from the source of life, the Divine – is the root cause of all disease, for all people. In your case it is more dramatic, so it is very important for you to stay in a state of grace. This is good for its own sake, but for you it is an actual health issue.
There is nothing that spirit can’t cure if allowed in.
By now you understand much more about this. But there is always more to learn. And this is a good year for doing so (even more than in previous years). Read all you can on the subject. The works of Ernest Holmes and Emmet Fox are good places to start. This will lead you to other books.
Uranus, as we mentioned earlier, has been in your 8th house of regeneration for some years now, leading you to be experimental in sexual matters. This has good points and dangers. The good points are that everyone responds sexually in different ways. Everyone is wired up in a unique way. What pleasures one, displeases another. There is no ‘one way’ to enjoy sex. So the object is to learn about ourselves and our partners and see what works for us. This requires letting go of the rule books and experimenting in real life. This is how real knowledge is attained. The dangers here are also real. Sometimes this experimentation can turn destructive. The act of sex is an act of love, not of pain and destruction. So experiment by all means, but keep it constructive.
