12TH AND 12TH BIRTHDAYS

If these birthdays only are taken into consideration Twelve personalities will be regarded as identical twins. However, this is not the position in reality. While a certain number of similarities can be expected, so can a number of differences, because several areas of influence will be responsible for a divergence of personality traits. Obvious differences will be the gender of the individuals, family backgrounds and the vibrations of the birth months, year, destiny number and names. Some of these influences may be similar, some sympathetic and some uncongenial. By and large, and despite many possible variations, basic personality traits are so much the same that a degree of competition and confrontation would be inevitable. These are not placid and compliant individuals in whom similar characteristics are harmonised, instead they are firm individualists who do not hesitate to confront each other when differences arise. Self-expression being their most essential need, they would not withdraw or surrender an opinion or action they believe is justified.

The vibration of the birth month, in particular, would emphasise some of the differences or modify others. For example, authoritative and opinionated Twelves are more likely to be found in the 1st, 4th, 7th and 8th months. However, such features are moderated by the Twelves who are born in the 2nd, 6th or 9th months. Attachment to home and family life is seldom found in Twelves born in the 1st, 3rd, 5th or 9th months as these are career oriented forces which propel the personality into the public arena. Although the Twelve personality is not essentially a domesticated individual those born in the 2nd, 4th or 6th month generally achieve a fair balance between public life and domesticity. Ego is so strong in both partners that they can be classed as ego-centred individuals. Their tendency is to go after and satisfy their own wants in the first instance and pay attention to the wants of others as a secondary measure. This is more a self-absorbed attitude than a selfish one. When gently reminded of their obligations they are generous with their time and money. A Twelve/Twelve partnership is a good example in which multi-talented and positive people form an intimate relationship. The inevitable result is a clash between a pair of strong egos.

Regardless of differences caused by various factors both Twelve partners possess a positive attitude towards life and do not waste time and energy propping up their identity as intelligent and productive individuals. Both possess unquestionable qualities of leadership with the ability to make firm decisions without much hesitation or deliberation. Being basically Three personalities (1 + 2 = 3) with the 1 and 2 vibrations operating in the foreground of the personality their form of leadership is not arbitrary or dictatorial. They acquire the loyalty of subordinates through friendliness, courtesy and their natural aura of self-confidence and knowledge. In addition, their air of intelligence and authority is enriched by a fine sense of humour and optimism. Both possess a powerful imagination along with a capacity to translate thought into action. While these vigorous and vibrant assets are activated by the 1 and 3 vibrations many gentle and cultivated features emanate from the 2 aspect of their personality.

Their strong individuality is a factor that could prevent them from settling down to a harmonious relationship. All three vibrations that form the personality structure of the Twelve create predominantly many ‘I’ and ‘My’ tendencies as opposed to ‘We’ and ‘Us’ attitudes. The result is an ego-centred mentality. Being equally capable of leadership and decision making there will always be a contest between them. Although their relationship is bound to be competitive it can, nevertheless, be maintained in a friendly fashion. While easily locked into verbal confrontation they do not harbour resentment or a desire for revenge. These negative features are quite alien to their open temperament. An equal partnership based strictly on a policy of give and take is their only alternative. But there will be obstacles to overcome before a degree of success is achieved. The degree of reciprocity they achieve will always be relative to the degree of ego strength in each. Twelves born in the 1st, 3rd, 5th, 10th, 11th and 12th months possess strong egos. As ego will usually be the problem with Twelves in their relationship they do not make any serious attempts to acquire a greater understanding of human nature in general and their own personality in particular. Consequently, they do not become as susceptible to sympathetic insight into another’s needs and desires as would less ego-centred people. However, Twelves with expanded egos such as those born in the 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th months possess greater awareness and appreciation of the opinions and needs of others.

Generally, Twelves can confidently trust each other’s decisions and judgments. As all-purpose individuals they could function effectively in the physical, emotional and mental realms. The birth month will indicate greater capacity in one or the other of these realms. For instance, a Twelve born in the 4th or 6th month will possess greater attachment to home and family than one born in the 3rd, 5th or 9th month, or a Twelve born in the 7th or 9th month will display a greater awareness of their spiritual nature than those born in the 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th months. Once again, the stronger the ego, the less concern will be shown towards exploration of the inner reality of things.

Regardless of the influence of the birth month all Twelves will be purposely goal-oriented. Having decided upon the cause they desire, they set about achieving their aims without deviation. Faced with a choice between their career and domestic responsibilities the demands of the former will be given priority. Being extroverted individuals they make friends easily. Another advantageous feature is their self-sufficiency. If sufficient attention is regularly given to them they do not depend too much on constant positive feedback from others to maintain self-esteem. They are always appreciative of compliments, and if compliments are not forthcoming they may elicit them in many subtle ways. Neither of the two would hesitate to occupy the centre of attention in a social or business setting, and would do so successfully. As a result, a Twelve couple could resort to competition against each other in order to capture and hold the attention of an audience. By effortlessly using their subtle sense of humour, lively imagination, pleasing body language and fluency of speech they contribute much more to a social setting than they take from it. Their essential positivity spreads good fellowship due to their instant response to the better qualities of the people they meet. They can overlook or treat with humour common human failings and inadequacies. They are also capable of breaking away from conventional social interaction and venturing into circles devoted to ultra modern or avant-garde activities.

Well endowed with the gift of speech both partners do not experience the slightest difficulty articulating their thoughts and emotions. They are also gifted with the power of the written word. This duel capacity for self-expression sets them apart from the average person. Consequently, neither partner suffers from any inhibition in regard to self-expression. This is one of their greatest assets that can take them far on the road to successful business dealings and social interactions. In private life, one partner would not be able to overwhelm the other in an argument as both possess versatile and persuasive tongues. Both will insist on having the last word. Never at a loss in conversation they need to take care to resist a natural inclination to talk excessively about their own affairs. When they succeed in doing so, they emerge as witty and engaging conversationalists. Rigidly attached to their opinions they can be expected to compete with each other or contradict each other during animated discussions. However, their innate sense of humour and fair play will usually prevent anger or animosity damaging their sense of wellbeing, or spoiling the atmosphere of a social scene.

A competitive spirit is strong and healthy in both partners. The spirit of sportsmanship governs their activities rather than the unrelenting urge to immerge as winners for the sake of financial or material gain. It is unlikely that any Twelve personality will resort to any unsportsmanlike action to gain an undeserved position. They are generally amateur sportspersons as opposed to professionals. Involvement in a variety of sporting activity will take up much of their non-working hours. They may not be keen students of the metaphysical aspects of life. Being independent and self-reliant they are unlikely to become ardent devotees to a religious leader or organisation. However, their natural talents will draw them into the cultural side of life, particularly in literary activity or as creative artists or performing artists. Intellectual rapport will be a tremendous help. While their preference will be for solo roles they will be content in group activity provided they are given the latitude to introduce innovations of their own. Both partners are very fashion conscious. Without much effort or competition from others they become leaders in the world of fashion as designers, models, or simply as individuals with an excellent taste for personal adornment.

Their capacity to earn money is well above average. So is their capacity to spend money. Consequently, money may go out as quickly as it comes in. They are generous spenders while not being irresponsible spendthrifts. Living expenses will always be high due to their expensive tastes and high standard of living. They are also capable of exercising a degree of self-control when necessary and making sound investments for future financial advantage. Although Twelves do not place money as a high priority in the scheme of things it will constantly emerge as a significant factor in their lives. A certain amount of dissention may arise in regard to money matters, especially in regard to priority in spending.

In spite of being very self-sufficient individuals, Twelves still depend on regular positive attention given to them by others to boost their self-esteem. This same characteristic calls for acknowledgment, appreciation and deference to their capabilities from their loved ones. In the first instance, they expect more than they consider giving. However, once assured of the love and loyalty of a loved one, their own love and loyalty is given without stint. They love deeply and romantically, but also expect to be fussed over in return. The problem with a pair of Twelves is the uncertain situation as to who will take the initial step towards releasing emotion and demonstrating love. Twelves certainly feel unloved without a certain amount of emotional demonstration as these are naturally romantic individuals. While all Twelves enjoy intellectual rapport, not all enjoy emotional rapport. This could be in the case of a partnership where one has physical numbers in the birth month, and the other has emotional numbers. Twelves will enrich their love life to the degree they loosen clinging to their egos. A balance between giving and taking being established, they will move out of a confined sense of ‘Self First’ to a more ‘Us’ and ‘We’ attitude to their relationship. The vibration or vibrations in the birth month of each will no doubt heavily influence the outcome of the success of this partnership.

12TH AND 13TH BIRTHDAYS

A spontaneous attraction between persons born on these days is unlikely. However, destiny may, with all its enigmatic ways, fashion a partnership between them, and in doing so link two exceptionally alert, positive, creative and self-sufficient individuals. The predictable result in a partnership between two such strong individualists as these personalities will be the very likely prospect of confrontation and competition on several issues. Personality clashes may not arise until the initial romantic and courting period has passed into the practicalities of life. However, these conflicts need not become a constant feature as these individuals possess many more characteristics in common to be used in a mutual exchange, than opposite features. These common features can always be used to strengthen their union if a cooperative effort is made to control natural tendencies and establish a balance of power within the relationship.

Either of the two is able to quickly come up with solutions to problems that may confront them and not spend time weighing up issues. Unless reminded of their obligation to consult each other they are likely to go ahead and make decisions on their own and act independently. When they want something their tendency is to gain it by taking the most direct route. They are extroverted and open personalities who are neither devious nor manipulative in their interaction with others or with each other. For the most part, they are in command of themselves in private and public life, and their leadership qualities are seldom questioned. However, it will be seen that down-to-earth and pragmatic aptitudes are stronger in the Thirteen, while diplomacy, adaptability and sensitivity are superior in the Twelve.

The Twelve is basically a Three personality (1+ 2 = 3) with the 1 and 2 vibrations effective in the forefront of the personality. The 1 contributes the active aspect while the 2 creates the receptive and caring quality. Initiative, self-esteem, self-confidence, strength of ego, self-sufficiency and concentration are features gained from the former, while courtesy, agreeability, sensitivity and gentleness is contributed by the latter. The 1 aspect strengthens certain reserved and hesitant features of the 2, while the 2 modifies certain egotistic and aggressive tendencies that could arise from the 1 aspect. The 1, 2 and 3 features combined in the integral Twelve personality produces a less autocratic form of leadership and authority than would be seen in a straightforward One personality. Romance, imagination and politeness are other complementary features. In addition, self-expression in the fine arts is given a tremendous boost by the united force of the 1, 2 and 3 vibrations. The 3, especially, provides an exceptionally high sense of colour and beauty. The combination of these three vibrations also centralises the egocentric nature of the Twelve.

The Thirteen is basically a Four personality (1 + 3 = 4) with the 1 and 3 characteristics prominent in the outer person. The basic 4 creates a practical approach to life which will be found to be stronger than that of the Twelve. A greater aptitude with their hands is an advantage held by the Thirteen in addition to their capacity to appreciate beauty and colour. The Thirteen has also a fine sense of form, accuracy, permanence and durability. They are less amenable to change than a Twelve is. An outlet for natural expression of sentiment, which is present in the Twelve, is not found in the Thirteen, unless the Thirteen is born in the 2nd or 5th months. While Thirteens may join their Twelve partners in the fine arts they may also extend into building and construction on a large scale.

These are career oriented personalities who may consider a home atmosphere oppressive if confined wholly to domestic duties. Despite many onerous responsibilities of domesticity both look towards a wider field of activity involving interaction with people and personal challenges. If one or the other is required to assume a domestic role it will be necessary for this partner to divert his or her mind from the restlessness experienced if confined too long to home. Involvement in some creative activity and social life will be essential. Neither partner will fit into a pattern of life determined by the other or adjust to an inferior or complacent position in decision making. While they do not feel the need to manipulate or dominate each other they will not let one assume control. This condition will be present not only in the domestic scene but also in public and social life. As both will assert their individuality and act from a position of strength they should endeavour to make all important decisions after mutual consultation.

Social activity will occupy a prominent place in their lifestyle. Both appreciate and welcome the opportunity for self-expression in social gatherings as well as the compliments they often receive from friends and acquaintances. However, they do not shape their conduct to suit the opinions and expectations of others. Nurturing an implicit faith in their own capabilities they may be inclined to overlook the various shades of human character and disregard the opinions of others. These are features that could also lead to conflict between themselves. Although this characteristic may not work to their advantage at times, they are at the same time, natural entertainers who gravitate towards a central or prominent position in any social gathering, and easily hold the attention of an audience by displaying a sharp sense of humour and oral flexibility.

Fluency of speech is one direct outcome of mental flexibility enjoyed by both personalities. They soon earn a reputation for entertaining conversation and the ability to employ various lines of argument in support of their views. Their ideas are always positive and optimistic. Both speak with a voice that is brisk and decisive. However, there is always the possibility of absorption in their own affairs and personal line of thought and speech. They could be oblivious of the efforts made by others towards balanced conversation. Their naturally authoritative body language and speech becomes more sophisticated with maturity, higher education and cultural achievement. While the Thirteen has the capacity to sustain a verbal contest for a longer period the Twelve has an equal capacity for self-expression with the written word. Stubbornness is a strong force in the Thirteen, and when disagreements arise they could be forthright and adamant in their disapproval. Twelves are more circumspect as their 2 aspect introduces diplomacy and adaptability into their integral personality. Some Thirteens could experience emotional blocks while all Twelves are able to give adequate expression to their feelings through the medium of speech or the written word. At the same time both partners can do so through the medium of music and poetry.

A variety of cultural interests will attract these partners. With sensitivity for beauty and form, artistic appreciation and creativity are inherent talents in both. They are also gifted with delicacy of touch. Twelves could use it for healing purposes and the handling of delicate instruments. Thirteens use their strong and sensitive hands and fingertips for creating physical form out of raw material. While Twelves may in time accept psychic phenomena and other esoteric practices as an extended feature of normal life, most Thirteens may view these with scepticism or with disinterest. While both will be active in a variety of sport their potential to devote themselves to art, music, the theatre and literature is much stronger. Care should be taken to ensure that their recreational activities and other outside interests are not carried to the extent that domestic duties and family togetherness are neglected.

Both partners will favour a high standard of living. As a consequence, expenditure will be high, but so will individual or joint incomes. In the management of their finances, on a daily basis and in saving and investment, the Thirteen partner will display better judgment and self-control. Twelves are not incapable of financial management but self-discipline is not as strong when spending on their favourite indulgences. The Thirteen is in a better position to adjust their living standards to meet their income. Not only can they plan to be in a position to meet their bills when they arrive but they can summon the patience to hunt around for bargains and best buys.

As both partners are straightforward in their thoughts, manipulative techniques will be absent in their interaction. In free and open discussion they should be able to find ways and means to divide domestic and other duties agreeably and unambiguously. Due to the verbal effectiveness in both there is certain to be a good deal of talk before agreement is reached. The Thirteen will want to arrive at solutions much sooner than the Twelve. However, as both see things from a positive point of view discussions will not turn into argument just for the sake of argument. Despite their romantic element both partners require personal space. The Twelve will give and expect more emotional demonstration. Intimacy and emotional closeness is more restricted in the Thirteen although this condition is not an indication of the absence of love, loyalty and romanticism. Indeed, the love and devotion of a Thirteen may exceed that of the Twelve. It is the absence of an emotional outlet that prevents the Thirteen from giving easy release to intimate feelings. An emotional vibration in the birth month may help slightly but not as much as a Twelve would expect, especially if the Twelve also has an emotional number in the birth month. Once again, it may be said that the high intelligence in these partners can be applied to overcome any natural shortcomings or differences. Being genuine optimists they do not succumb easily to any real or fancied obstacles. A combination of considerable strength as well as individual freedom can be established without much effort.

12TH AND 14TH BIRTHDAYS

When contemplating a relationship some people are attracted to prospective partners on the basis of similarities, leading to successful relationships. This happens when their similarities are of a passive and kindred nature, and such relationships are seldom fraught with argument and dissension. But they may not be as exciting, enterprising and adventuresome due to a degree of complacency that may enter into their mode of living. People are also attracted to each other on the basis of the extent to which their needs and personality traits are complementary. They seek out in each other the qualities they lack or in which they are deficient. Such relationships are usually very successful. Those with 12th and 14th birthdays do not fall into either of these categories.

A positive attitude towards life is an attribute possessed in common by these personalities. The principal advantages of positivity are ego strength, individuality, self-confidence, self-esteem, initiative, willpower and strength of purpose. These attributes make Twelves and Fourteens leaders and decision makers in all situations. They are also qualities that would be introduced into an intimate relationship resulting in a possible clash between two positives. Consequently, they may not look to each other to make up for any deficiency as both feel quite adequate within themselves. What may actually take place is a contest of wills between these strong individuals once the honeymoon period is followed by the practicalities of life. As neither will submit or adjust to a subordinate position the unconscious desire in each to take charge has to be recognised as unworkable and a division of responsibility agreed upon so that they share areas of power and feel that they have equal influence. When this is successfully established a partnership of considerable strength can be formed.

The Twelve is basically a Three personality (1 + 2 = 3) with access to or potential for self-expression on the physical, emotional and mental realms. However, the individual is not likely to concentrate entirely on any one of these realms, but rather though a fusion of the features of all three. The 1 aspect provides creativity and enterprise on the physical, the 2 moderation, adaptability, sensitivity and emotional release, while the 3 provides artistry in all things they undertake. Overall, these are multi-talented and self-assured people. They are neither rough in their manner nor strident in speech as their 2 and 3 features provide a good mixture of elegance, courtesy and friendliness. They are, however, self-centred to the extent that their thoughts and desires for their own welfare take precedence over their concern for others. Their ‘sins’ may be ‘sins’ of omission rather than ‘sins’ of commission as they are by no means selfish people, and are quite generous when they are reminded of their obligation towards others. As leaders they are more democratic than autocratic. While trusting their own decisions and judgments they are also prepared to listen to the views of others and adapt any feasible suggestions. A Fourteen partner can profitably enjoy this advantage and use it to strengthen their relationship.

The Fourteen is basically a Five personality (1 + 4 = 5) with 1 and 4 forces operating in the forefront of the personality. This is a reasonably well integrated individual as the three vibrations forming the complete personality have more features in common than any that may be conflicting. Any opposite features could be complementary rather than contradictory. The physical aspects of life are much stronger in this individual than in Twelve partners. Fourteens are motivated towards vigorous physical activity which includes sexual activity. The 1 and 4 are the strongest physical forces while the fundamental 5, though operating on the emotional plane, possesses heightened physical attributes combined with emotion. The Fourteen is therefore basically a down-to-earth, pragmatic individual with feet firmly placed on the ground, although not without emotional expression when necessary. While a single 4 vibration favours stability, consolidation, and revolts against movement and change, the inner 5 aspect of the Fourteen is always prepared to take up new challenges. The 1 aspect supports both the dynamic 5 and the entrenched nature of the 4; hence, the strength and balance within the integral Fourteen. A quality that appears to be lacking but in fact is quite abundant is emotion and sensitivity. Self-discipline and expectations of disciplinary behaviour by others obscure their sensitive nature. Their emotions are usually released in heavy physical activity rather than in sentimental speech and body language. Their love and loyalty can be judged by their actions. As they are not easily upset under pressure their presence is greatly valued in emergencies. They are not often subject to the neutralising effects of doubt and fear. With a natural flair to seek practical solutions to problems they do not hesitate to volunteer for tasks that others may hesitate to undertake.

Being multi-talented and extroverted individuals both partners may find a career as a homemaker somewhat confining. Both are open to new experiences – the Fourteen applying their creative powers to the physical side of life and the Twelve to the artistic and social domains. However, while mainly concentrating on their areas of preference both are also capable of successfully entering each other’s fields of activity. Fourteens are tireless workers who possess greater physical strength and kinetic energy than the Twelve and are likely to take up a greater share of household work. When differences surface as regards division of responsibility the Twelve would be more amenable to discussion and adjustment while the Fourteen would be more adamant and unwilling to change once they have made up their minds.

The Twelve’s involvement in social life may be more than that of the Fourteen. However, it is unlikely that there would be disagreement between them in the choice of friends and social activities. Twelves will be attracted to the entertainment side of social life as performers and spectators while Fourteens prefer to stay active behind the scenes as organisers and workers. Twelves are often more interested in personal enjoyment while Fourteens extend themselves into service and community welfare. Both partners are able to participate in group activity on a reasonably harmonious basis without sacrificing their identities as individuals. They are not likely to adjust their standards to meet with the expectations of others nor do they justify their actions to others. Yet both remain popular and invariably leave a good impression upon any social scene.

By and large, Fourteens are less talkative than their Twelve partners although they easily display eloquence when elaborating on subjects dear to them. But, in general, they leave the talking to the Twelve. They would interfere only when the Twelve lets imagination take over and fails to adhere to facts. Twelves enjoy expertise with the written word as well as the spoken word and both areas are enriched by their vivid imaginations. There is an emotional content in their speech which is used in positive ways and not allowed to interfere with self-control. Fourteens do not usually display emotion because they are able to detach themselves when they chose to do so from a considerable amount of emotion and passion confined in their make-up. Their speech is more authoritative and definitive with a strong disciplinary content. They are forthright in what they say and about what or who they like or dislike, while Twelves are rather more tactful. Fourteens are set in their opinions once they take a stand. Attempts to have them change their minds could be quite frustrating.

Hobbies and other extra domestic activities chosen by these partners will automatically follow the basic orientation of their personalities. Although they are not devoid of practical application of their creative instincts Twelves direct their creativity towards music, art, literature, drama and other mentally oriented activities. Fourteens show much more interest in heavy physical pastimes. All variety of sport involving body contact, daring competition and physical stamina attract these individuals. They are also genuine handypersons who enjoy fixing things for themselves and others. The 4 aspect of this personality creates an affinity with the earth and its vitalising power and also an affinity with all living things. If they take to the garden it will be for profit they could gain for their efforts rather than for purely aesthetic reasons. Fruit and vegetables will be their choice in the first instance and flowers and other features as a secondary measure. The influence of the Twelve will be seen in the latter feature. Both partners can easily combine to enjoy the pleasures of life without worrying too much about moral aspects or financial cost. Once the Fourteen’s initial resistance towards spending is overcome these people could be just as enthusiastic and enterprising, but an element of caution will always remain.

As both partners will be inclined to make decisions on their own, trusting to their judgment, matters concerning money, saving and investment will not be excluded from this practice. They would need to make an effort to consult each other before such decisions are made. The Twelve will find that the Fourteen has a sharp and pragmatic approach to money matters that does not accept anything on face value. They are at once cautious and courageous in their spending habits. They would conscientiously take care of daily expenses making every effort to get the most for their dollar. Twelves do not show much concern or as much attention to money matters although they enjoy spending money more than saving it for future needs.

A Twelve personality’s habits may remain conventional for the most part without any masked swing between conventionality and unconventionality. While the impression first given by the Fourteen will be towards conventionality they could surprisingly adopt many unconventional habits. Being self-sufficient individuals these partners are not likely to surrender all of themselves to each other nor would they expect anyone else to do so. As loyalty and confidence are qualities natural to both they could allow each other considerable individual freedom without unnecessary fears. They are not types who look habitually for difficulties where none exist. Although the habit of self-analysis is not strong in either, the Twelve may be more inclined towards a degree of introspection and will also more likely develop an affirmative state of mind. Fourteens are usually too busy being involved in the work they perform to develop the practice of self-examination unless circumstances force them to do so. When differences surface the Fourteen will display more stubbornness which the Twelve will have to circumvent with diplomacy. Tack and flexibility in the Twelve will be an important contribution towards settling many differences.

12TH AND 15TH BIRTHDAYS

Both birthdays create dynamic and positive personality types who share many features in common. Whatever attributes they do not share are complementary rather than contradictory. Their future together augurs well, although compatibility and success cannot be taken for granted. There is no room for complacency as some of their best qualities may be the catalyst for disagreement; a condition that is inevitable in an association between two positives. The degree of confidence positive personalities have in their own abilities makes it difficult to accept the leadership and decisions of others, or the fact that they may be at fault in any matter. Each is likely to take charge in different ways unaware that they could be encroaching on the other’s individuality. Both Twelves and Fifteens will need to subordinate certain individual urges to the expectations and responsibilities of a partnership. A partial surrender or compromise by both is called for. Distribution of authority and responsibility will be a condition that would need to be realised and addressed during the testing time of their early years together.

Both Twelves and Fifteens possess the potential for self-expression on the physical, emotional and mental planes. Neither, of course, confines their thoughts and actions to one particular plane to the exclusion of the other two, but rather through a combination of the characteristics of all three. As a consequence of their ability to draw upon the resources of all three planes they emerge as versatile and well-rounded individuals. Their ability to think for themselves and to execute their plans prevents them from looking up to others for direction. It is said that negatives wish and positives will. These partners fall neatly into the latter category.

The Twelve is fundamentally a Three personality (1 + 2 = 3). In multiple digit birthdays such as the 12th, characteristics of the outer numbers or vibrations usually operate in the forefront of the personality while those of the basic or inner number operate in the background. In many instances there could exist contradictions within the personality if the two areas are activated by vibrations of a different quality. This is not the case with a Twelve as the 1, 2 and 3 vibrations complement each other by forming a well-integrated individual. The qualities of each vibration become indistinguishable as they merge easily to form a single multi-faceted individual. Twelves are firmly individualistic and ego-centred individuals for the reason that individuality and egocentricity are essential qualities of the first three numbers. By and large, Twelves interpret events in relation to themselves rather than taking an objective view of circumstances and the actions of others. They seek to satisfy their own needs before they consider those of others. ‘I’ and ‘My’ thoughts and feelings are stronger than ‘We’ and ‘Us’ attitudes. This is clearly egocentricity as opposed to selfishness. They are in fact generous, obliging and friendly people whenever their help is called for. It is just their natural habit of thinking first of themselves that needs some adjustment in a relationship. Among other assets, self-reliance in the Twelve is provided by the 1 aspect, tact and adaptability by the 2, while the 3 reinforces the leadership abilities of the 1 and the genteel qualities of the 2 and introduces a youthful and optimistic outlook on life through its own nature.

The Fifteen is basically a Six personality (1+ 5 = 6) with the 1 and 5 vibrations operating in the outer personality. Unlike the Twelve whose outer and inner persons are relatively similar there is a marked contrast between these two faces of the Fifteen. Those who are unfamiliar with this personality may see only an energetic and dynamic individual involved in physical experiences and not the inner person who is attached to domestic and family oriented activities. Although not evident on the surface most Fifteens enjoy family life as much as they enjoy outdoor activities. There is a balance that exists within the integral personality, for which the 6 vibration is responsible, which prevents them from falling into any extremes of behaviour. They are therefore able to effect reconciliation between the inner and outer areas and enjoy the best of both worlds. However, to do so successfully in a relationship the cooperation of their partners is essential. In association with a Twelve this is possible as the Twelve also reveals the capacity and desire to join the Fifteen in both sides of life.

Both partners also possess well-integrated emotional natures. Decisions and reactions to life’s events will not be emotionally based as mind overrides emotion in most instances. Emotion is, however, not so much suppressed as given adequate expression in the proper circumstances. Their comfort zones or the amount of space they need between themselves and others in order to feel ease is relatively the same. Consequently, one would not impose an excess of emotional demonstration or sentimentality on the other, nor would they create emotional distance. Ample room will be maintained for romance and friendship. The friendship aspect of their relationship would be quite interesting and enduring. In the daily round of living a process of give and take and mutual help will be agreed upon sooner or later.

Both partners possess an extroverted attraction to social life. They are open personalities who display spontaneous gaiety while intermingling with friends, relations and acquaintances. Both can sense the emotional tone of various people or groups and adjust their conduct to suit the circumstances. Commitment to each other will not deprive them of previous social connections. Both will agree to keep up with old associations. Possessiveness is not a negative feature that enters into this relationship. Usually, Twelves gain popularity as entertainers and Fifteens as organisers. Fifteens may play a greater practical role as hosts and hostesses while Twelves take the lead in lively conversation. But, these roles can be reversed. Both are not just onlookers but are also participants who do not avoid conspicuous roles. More often than not one or the other will be responsible for setting the tone of any gathering as in all circumstances they are leaders and initiators rather than followers. It is only in rare circumstances that they would adjust to the tone of others and remain so for any length of time. Sooner or later they would either leave or alter the tone to suit themselves.

They are both good talkers who prefer to voice their own ideas and opinions rather than listen to those of others. Their speech is enriched with imagination, humour, and a degree of authority. Apologetic and conciliatory speech and body language are not part of their general manner. At the same time they are neither too forceful nor dogmatic. Fifteens are rather more argumentative. Possessing a wider field of awareness and curiosity, and a stronger inclination to take up challenges they are more persistent and animated in discussions. They could also resort to a degree of clever manipulation while retaining a sense of fair play. They are more objective in their views. The subjectivity of most Twelves places them at a certain disadvantage in an argument as they would be less inclined to listen to the facts placed before them by the Fifteen.

The hobbies these partners take up, and the method in which they spend their holidays will not move them apart. Both are well suited for roles requiring dramatisation; an asset that can and will be used in any avocation they follow. Depending on their cultural background they could jointly take an active interest in literature and drama. The Fifteen in particular, will display a tendency to dramatise themselves in various roles. The Twelves may confine themselves to the fine arts while Fifteens may extend themselves into physical activity, not excluding certain domestic duties such as an interest in culinary arts. Travel and holidays in unusual places will be another interest in which both will be in agreement and derive a great deal of pleasure. While Fifteens may take the initiative in all outdoor activities their Twelve partners will not be far behind. The differences will only be in the Twelve’s greater concentration on activity and the Fifteen’s desire to indulge in both mental and physical stimulation. Despite the Fifteen’s desire for movement and the Twelve’s association with such movement both partners are sooner or later drawn back to home and family attachments. Holidays will seldom be protracted affairs. Being versatile people both will participate in a variety of sport and carry this interest well into their advancing years, with mutual encouragement of each other’s particular activity. An equal element of spontaneity in each will prevent one or the other becoming restricted to a fixed routine. Both are able to free themselves from time to time from the repetitive tasks of homemaking.

As both partners possess several marketable skills there is considerable potential for diversity in employment and avocations. Consequently, their finances should always remain stable. While both are willing to make bold moves in investment an element of caution will also be present in all their dealings. Fifteens may display a more direct and practical approach and a keener interest in money matters. However, both partners need freedom to handle money with as little questioning as possible on their spending habits. One cannot fully take over control of the finances from the other. A certain proportion of money handled by each partner independently would be an ideal situation, and this is what is likely to eventuate.

Neither of these personalities would take kindly to an idea or suggestion presented to them as an instruction or an order. The success of their relationship has to be based on an indirect approach following the acceptance of each partner’s individuality and not upon one partner’s attempts to change the other. The way to do so would be in the first instance to gain insight into their own personality and the impact it may have on their partner. The good sense of humour natural to both will always emerge as an occupational and social advantage as well as a release from conflict that may arise between them. There isn’t a great deal of variation in their need to love and be loved and their need to support and be supported. In fact, neither can tolerate too much negativity or calls for help. An added advantage is that both are able to talk intimately to each other, influenced by the friendship that would develop between them. The Fifteen has, to a greater degree, shifted from a self-centred outlook to more inclusive attitudes while the Twelve may still be attached to the former mode of thought and action. However, the influence of the Fifteen, and several other family and social experiences will see the Twelve shift to a ‘We’ and ‘Us’ mode of living.

12TH AND 16TH BIRTHDAYS

Some of the many qualities a Twelve personality will contribute to a partnership with a Sixteen will be initiative, optimism, enthusiasm and versatility, as well as a noticeable proportion of self-centredness. A Sixteen, in turn, will counterbalance these qualities with thoughtfulness, analysis, reasoning, a strong vein of spirituality and a tendency to view life, more or less, from an impersonal point of view.

The attraction of opposites is the force that will bring about a meeting between these personalities. Both are gifted with a considerable variety of positive qualities, but of a widely contrasting nature. A combination of these features would produce an immensely resourceful and successful partnership. However, despite the law of attraction, the recognition, reconciliation and eventual merger of their separate characteristics will not be an automatic process. The first obstacle will be the essential youthfulness of the Twelve and the relative maturity of the Sixteen. However, efforts to establish a worthwhile and productive combination such as this cannot be given up easily, and is not likely to happen between Twelves and Sixteens. Despite the differences in their approach to life both share certain effective features, such as positivity, self-confidence, willpower, loyalty and the will to succeed in any undertaking. They look automatically on the brighter and constructive side of life. To fail in an undertaking, especially one as important as an intimate relationship will be regarded as a weakness of character unacceptable to their self-image. Furthermore, being individuals of high intelligence they would proceed from the premise that total satisfaction or compatibility cannot be expected from or offered by a partner. Confident of success both would to do their best to create a lasting and loving relationship based on love, loyalty and friendship. They would do so without the aid of others as these individuals do not allow their lives to be shaped by others or circumstances created by others. Aware that reality is a matter of personal perception they would rely on their own judgment to settle differences. The Sixteen will be exceptionally adept at making objective judgments.

A submissive role in any department of life is quite foreign to these individuals. Although leadership and decision making qualities are natural to both they do not feel the need or urge to manipulate or exercise undue power over their partners. Though both hold firm opinions they are not quarrelsome or overly argumentative. The desire for a friendly and peaceful lifestyle is much stronger than having their own way. Both are emotionally stable and capable of dealing with conflict without losing emotional balance. A partnership of equals is the likely outcome.

The Twelve is a happy blend of the 1, 2 and 3 vibrations (1 + 2 = 3). These forces complement each other to form a unified personality structure free from internal conflict. Rather than being pulled in different directions by contrary urges the Twelve charges ahead as a single consolidated force. Among other features, the 1 aspect provides independence, strength of purpose, self-confidence, self-esteem and a strong ego. The 2 softens some of the more aggressive instincts of the 1 and introduces adaptability, gentleness, sensitivity and the willingness to negotiate and cooperate to a reasonable extent. The 3 provides an optimistic and youthful outlook. The combined forces of the 1 and 3 strengthen leadership qualities and the ability to make firm decisions, while the 2, yet again, acts as a moderating influence. All three vibrations create an egocentric temperament in the Twelve as this is the nature of these early numbers. Subjective thinking is more natural to them than objectivity and they see life from a personal viewpoint, observing things not always as they are but how they may relate to their likes and dislikes. Once their own desires are satisfied they would generously consider the needs of others as these are not mean or selfish individuals. It is just that they are naturally geared to think first of themselves.

The Sixteen has the underlying 7 to compliment it (1 + 6 = 7). The 1 and 7 vibrations operate on the physical plane and the 6, on the mental plane. The emotional plane is not represented here. Unless there is an emotional number 2, 5, or 8, particularly a 2 or 5 in the birth month of the Sixteen, they will not be an emotionally demonstrative individual. Even if these vibrations are found, emotional expression will be at a minimum as the 1, 6, and 7 that make up the integral personality are quite averse to demonstration of emotion. The Sixteen could easily be misunderstood and taken for a distant or unemotional individual, but nothing could be further from the truth. These are individuals with deeper than average emotion that is not expressed as much in words or body language as in their loving and responsible behaviour. The 6 vibration in combination with the 7 has moved the Sixteen from an ‘I’ and ‘My’ consciousness into a ‘We’ and ‘Us’ way of thought and action. The 6, in particular, is a force that provides balance, and therefore prevents the individual from falling into any extremes of behaviour. Also, as a mentally oriented force, mind governs the personality through analysis and rational thinking. Those strongly influenced by this vibration, as in the case of the Sixteen, are natural psychologists. They are also teachers, instructors, demonstrators, community workers and above all devoted parents and guardians. Their lifestyle is based upon a stable family and community responsibility. The 7 aspect of this personality is equally strong although the demonstration of some of its characteristics may not be as visible. Privacy and reserve are special traits of the 7 which invariably curtail some of the extroverted desires of the 1and 6, while it reinforces the inner strength, willpower and family consciousness of the integral Sixteen. Above all, it introduces an active spiritual element into the personality. A Sixteen could be an ardent follower of an orthodox faith or strike out as a lone investigator into all religions, especially their mystical aspects. Unlike the average Twelve a Sixteen is able to see things as they are, and not necessarily as they relate to themselves. Their objectivity makes them easier to live with once their straightforward and uninhibited manner is understood. A Twelve may at times resent the Sixteen’s clearheaded speech and actions. The largely impersonal or objective nature of the Sixteen gives them a wider view of the world. Imagination and fantasy do not influence them as they would do in the Twelve. In addition, the rationality of the 6 and 7 vibrations makes it impossible for the Sixteen to form inflated images of themselves. Content with their inner strength they feel no need to broadcast their capabilities or enter into competition with others.

Both partners are career oriented, but the Sixteen has a greater capacity and willingness to undertake the dual role of breadwinner and homemaker if required. As domestic instincts are stronger in the Sixteen this partner is likely to undertake a greater share of family responsibility. The Twelve is not without domestic attachment but in association with a Sixteen they would, without complaint, allow this partner to take the lead in decisions relating to home and family. A Twelve in general may be inclined to make decisions and act on their own accord but a Sixteen has the wisdom to avoid arbitrary decisions which would injure the sensibility of a Twelve. Consultation and mutual agreement will sooner or later become the usual practice in this partnership. Both will discover and acknowledge the large contribution each could make towards a happy and resourceful union when they join forces without competing with each other.

The Twelve is essentially an open personality who makes friends quickly and is easily accessible. They enjoy social life more than they do their own company. They look forward to and appreciate the compliments they invariably receive for their entertaining ways. Success in entertainment comes from their tendency to treat most things with a light touch of humour and a sharp eye for the ridiculous in human behaviour. This is a trait also shared by the Sixteen. The Twelve’s optimistic and positive attitude lifts the tone and atmosphere of any company, and their company in any gathering is appreciated. Their tendency to gain and enjoy the centre of attention in group activity relieves the Sixteen from doing so. In a social scene a Sixteen would display a cautious temperament which comes out as a controlled mixture of sociability, privacy and reserve. They are not afraid of themselves and consequently are able to bear their own company often better than they would the company of others. Their secret is the capacity to be part of the community yet maintain their privacy and protection of family. While Twelves may revel in participation Sixteens enjoy observation. Any unusual behaviour by others excites the Sixteen’s curiosity, creating a desire to investigate and understand the psychological reasons for such conduct. They are naturally skilled at picking up and interpreting body language. Their own body language is not easy to see through due to their even-tempered nature. The Twelve’s body language, on the other hand, is spontaneous, cheerful and animated. However, despite their buoyant nature, mind has strict control over emotion. Twelves and Sixteens can combine as excellent hosts and hostesses. Without competition or friction responsibility for home entertainment can be happily divided. Twelves will usually do all the verbal entertaining while the practical tasks will be taken up by the Sixteen. However, these roles can and will be exchanged on occasions. Sixteens are not wallflowers, nor are Twelves incapable of practical tasks.

Twelves are likely to display conversational skills on all manner of topics from the superficial to the serious. They offer opinions without reserve but feel impatient when obliged to listen to the opinions of others. Although Sixteens do not lack an interest in mundane affairs they are easily put off by too much superficial conversation. They are more contemplative than talkative as they are more open to the subtleties of the world around them. They are well aware of the correct moment to say something or to say nothing. Consequently, they give out their opinions with caution and remain open to what others have to say. Staying silent in a social scene does not unduly bother them.

Dissimilarities in the temperaments of these partners will become clearly evident in their selection of hobbies and other recreational activities. Twelves are too versatile to become attached to one form of activity or interest so that they depend upon it for their wellbeing. While social interests will certainly be an important outlet for self-expression their natural creativity will be directed into the arts as actors, musicians, singers, writers, painters and popular entertainers. Many Twelves bring in an income from their vocations as well as their avocations. Sixteens too are drawn to a variety of private interests, generally more than the average Twelve. Their 6 aspect introduces a love for domestic hobbies such as cooking and home beautification. Their fundamental 7 draws them into the garden as the 7 vibration creates the naturalist and nature lover. A Sixteen may not have as much time or inclination as a Twelve for social and other public activity although such interests will not be avoided altogether. Another aspect of the Sixteen is their curiosity and analytical interest in the philosophical and abstract side of life. There is a much stronger attraction to profound and arcane matters in the Sixteen than in the Twelve. They could easily become isolated from their partners in this respect as most Sixteens could detach themselves from mundane obligations when they become involved in metaphysical studies. Many Sixteens display the wholesome scepticism of a rational mind that does not accept anything on authority alone. While taking advantage of the collective wisdom of society they set out to find answers for themselves. Some Sixteens, however, may be devoted to a single orthodox religious practice and confine their studies to this particular faith. The average Twelve, on the other hand, may be too preoccupied with the external world and the collective culture of society to occupy themselves with spiritual matters. Psychic awareness in a Twelve may be overlooked until association with a knowledgeable Sixteen evokes an interest in parapsychology and other related subjects.

Although both partners possess an equal capacity to earn a good income (often from more than one source), the Sixteen will display more caution and responsibility in spending, saving and investing money. Some Twelves could be impulsive spenders, especially those with the numbers 2, 3, 5, or 9 in their birth months. Regardless of their birth month number, Sixteens will not spend or invest their earnings without careful consideration and investigation. Therefore, while Twelves are allowed a reasonable personal allowance which they may spend without question it would be better for the overall stability of the partnership if the Sixteen has a larger influence in the disposal of their income. Using a low key approach to life in general a Sixteen would seldom be in a hurry to part with their own money, or money held by them on behalf of others.

As this partnership will be lived generally in a mental atmosphere problems that arise from time to time will be addressed and solved by a rational approach. Highly charged emotional scenes will be most unusual as both are sensitive to the display of negative emotion. At the same time, demonstration of affection between them will not often be visible, yet always sincere when shown. The Twelve may be slightly more demanding of attention and for display of affection from the Sixteen. They will no doubt get their demands as Sixteens obtain more fulfilments in giving than in receiving. While their own love is usually undemanding they are seldom in need of proof of their partner’s love due to their ability to sense the degree of love and loyalty in their partners. Twelves are unlikely to fail them in this respect.

12TH AND 17TH BIRTHDAYS

The distinctive features of persons born on the 12th and 17th days create a gap that is wide enough to present a real challenge in the event of an intimate relationship being formed by them. The one feature they do possess in common is a positive approach to life which will help them overcome obstacles in their path. Rather than resort to escapism or surrender when faced with life’s problems both are endowed with the capacity to confront and overcome them. The very fact that they have different talents, different personality traits and different interests is what gives them value as a team. Some of their differences matter and some do not, but in general, they could make life not only challenging but also interesting and expansive. While competition will not be a problem as they will seldom cover the same territory they will need to understand and accept the fact that they look at the world from different observation points on account of the different forces that make up their respective personalities.

The Twelve is basically a Three personality (1 + 2 = 3). The hallmark of a Three is youthfulness with its accompanying qualities of optimism, extroversion, the pursuit of happiness, the urge for self-expression, a fertile mind and vivid imagination, a perennial sense of humour and friendliness. They are also ego-centred individuals who unconsciously call attention to themselves, with objective thinking being to a large extent foreign to their nature. Self-interest is more evident than a primary interest in others. However, egocentricity is counteracted to a fair extent by a generous, courteous and obliging nature. Once the first thought of self is overcome, positive Threes reveal themselves to be delightful and helpful individuals. The Twelve is a positive as well as a qualified Three personality as the 1 and 2 vibrations which operate in the foreground of the personality influence the basic 3 characteristics. Their influence is in every way positive and beneficial. Qualities of the 1 vibration emerge from the physical plane and those of the 2 from the emotional plane. The basic 3 is a mental force. Although each vibration has its distinct features which can be experienced individually they are interrelated and influence each other in the integral Twelve. The 1 provides individuality, willpower, a forceful ego, initiative and leadership. These qualities complement and strengthen those of the basic 3 and enhance powers of leadership and decision making. The 2 aspect introduces moderation, sensitivity, romance, courtesy and charm. The combination of the 2 and 3 forces mitigate certain rough and aggressive edges to the personality that the 1 vibration may introduce. All in all, Twelves are well balanced individuals who can fulfil their destiny without the need to first reconcile conflicting forces within themselves. They follow their natural urge to forge ahead and do so as an undivided personality.

Basically an Eight personality (1 + 7 = 8) the Seventeen is a combination of the 1, 7 and 8 vibrations with elements of all three vibrations observable in their normal behaviour. These vibrations do not emerge as comfortably in the Seventeen as the 1, 2 and 3 do in the Twelve. The 7 is the odd one out that creates a degree of contradiction in the integral Seventeen. As it does in the Twelve, the 1 vibration provides the impetus for confident self-expression. However, unlike its execution in the Twelve many egocentric and egoistic features have been removed by the impersonal features natural to the 7 vibration. This force represents, among other features, the mystic element in life which is altogether contrary to the promotion of ego, the acquisition of power over others and over-attachment to material possessions – desires which are prominent in the 1 vibration. The 7 aspect therefore neutralises many materialistic and physical promptings of the 1 aspect. Consequently, Seventeens feel the urge to detach themselves to a fair degree from materialistic and egoistic attachments and to form a balance between their 1 and 7 aspects. It cannot be confidently stated in any particular Seventeen that one aspect is more effective than the other unless the background of the individual is known. Furthermore, this is not the whole situation. An additional problem faced by the Seventeen is the basic 8 force which is more akin to the 1 than the 7. The 8 is also a vibration of material progress. The 7 aspect, therefore, fights an uphill battle. Ambition, pride, authority, expertise in organisation and administration are some of the principal attributes of the 8 that are contrary to the nature of the 7, which favours private self-development. Consequently, the average Seventeen is torn between extroverted and ambitious needs of a larger portion of their personality and the introverted, introspective and reserved nature of a smaller but emphatic portion. They are, as a consequence, somewhat complicated individuals who can be misunderstood by others and disturbed themselves by their own ambivalent attitudes. An uncomplicated Twelve partner will certainly find the Seventeen’s values confusing and rather trying.

Twelves and Seventeens will display an equal capacity for making quick and firm decisions. For the most part, decisions will be made independently which may cause confusion. In certain circumstances Twelves may resort to consultation but Seventeens seldom think of doing so. Qualities of leadership are natural to both but Seventeens will reveal better organisational and administrative skills. Both react positively under pressure but do so in different ways. Twelves are alert, light-hearted and quick on the uptake while Seventeens are cautious, firm, decisive and self-controlled. Both strongly resent playing second fiddle, especially in an intimate relationship. The idea that one would have to accept the decisions of the other will not sit comfortably on either of the pair. As a result, one will not be able to assume authority over the other. A clear division of responsibility and areas of personal freedom will be the only alternative so that the relationship can be maintained on an equal footing.

A career in public life will be a stronger attraction than a role as a homemaker with both partners. A full-time occupation as a homemaker, despite its varied responsibilities, will not offer an opportunity for full expression of themselves. However, the Seventeen’s talent for organisation and method and their ability to cope with routine may result in this partner taking up a larger portion of domestic duties. They are in a better position to accept the discipline of working to a timetable and fitting into a comfortable routine. Also, constant interaction with people in public life does not hold the same attraction to them as it may do to the Twelve. Punctuality is demanded by all Seventeens but may not be as important to many Twelves.

Temperamental differences between these partners will be most evident in social activity. Twelves can easily drop into place in any company and sooner or later assume a popular central role. Seventeens experience an ambivalent feeling of wanting to be involved and at the same time of wanting to avoid too much interaction with people. They are usually uncomfortable in group activity. Here again, it is the 7 aspect that interferes. On the occasions they are involved in a social scene they usually play their part on the sidelines. Intolerance is one of the Seventeen’s problems that affect not only their social life but also their private and business life. They are seldom able to suffer fools gladly. People and situations seen as frivolous and superficial are strictly avoided. This is a clear instance in which the strong individuality and private nature of the Seventeen clashes with the social obligations imposed on them. The individuality of the Twelve does not create any reservations or inhibitions towards interaction with others. They preserve their individuality while participating freely in company. Their extroverted attitude relieves any pressure the Seventeen may feel in a social situation. This is one instance in which the Seventeen would gladly concede a leading role to a Twelve.

The disparity between Twelves and Seventeens is once again revealed in oral expression. The talkative Twelve and generally taciturn Seventeen make an interesting and non-competitive combination. The Twelve suffers hardly any restrictions either physically, emotionally or mentally in converting their thoughts into words. They make full use of a naturally extensive vocabulary and fluency of speech. The Seventeen, on the other hand, feels restricted when they need to fully enunciate their thoughts and feelings. Although the vocabulary of many Seventeens may be more extensive than that of the average Twelve they fall behind in fluency and clarity of speech. Another reason for controlled oral expression is the Seventeen’s natural disinclination to talk too much. Some become lazy talkers and consequently their speech becomes unclear. While unable to take full advantage of their power with words in oral expression they use the outlet of the written word much more effectively. Following their natural tendencies Twelves are fond of talking about their own affairs with only a half-hearted concern for the affairs of others. They pay attention to conversation as long as the topics conform to their own thoughts. Seventeens prefer to discuss non-personal topics while revealing little of their private lives. They listen sympathetically to the problems of others and offer good advice provided such problems are real and not imaginary and repetitive. The Twelve’s fine sense of humour enables them to engage in light-hearted give and take. Seventeens are also quick at repartee with an element of subtlety and sarcasm in their sense of humour. Both partners find protracted argument tiresome. If they do not quickly agree on some matter they usually agree to disagree. For the most part they are able to keep excessive emotion out of their speech as well as demonstrative body language. While both speak with authority, their speech is enriched by a fine tonal quality and friendliness in the Twelve and an aura of knowledge and personal dignity natural in most Seventeens.

Boredom is never a problem with these individuals. Just killing time is not a diversion these talented people resort to. Both will actively engage in productive and beneficial hobbies and recreational activities. Their interests may not be the same but will be viewed with mutual respect, support and joint participation in some instances. It is possible that some Twelves may mix their personal and professional lives, but most Seventeens will keep these areas of activity separate. Twelves are natural artists whose private interests often involve music, drama, light literature and painting. Seventeens will also be attracted to these areas but with an emphasis on profound literature and music.

The nature of the Twelve is to become involved in a variety of interests while the Seventeen would rather specialise in one or two areas. While Twelves enjoy their hobbies in the company of others Seventeens prefer to do so in their own company. They enjoy aloneness while Twelves avoid this state. The 7 vibration has considerable influence upon the Seventeen’s choice of recreational activities. On the one hand, it draws them into the garden and all natural surroundings and on the other hand, it creates the perennial student involved in books and other avenues for gathering profound knowledge. Enquiry into the purpose and meaning of their existence carries them into metaphysical realms which a Twelve partner may not care to venture into to the same extent. It is here as well as in the garden that Seventeens enjoy periods of aloneness essential to their wellbeing. The extroverted and gregarious nature of the Twelve will only allow them limited and intermittent association with the Seventeen’s studies. The Twelve’s avocations may also be such that bring in an additional income and consequently leaving little time for self-enquiry. Seventeens are certainly not incapable of earning money through an avocation but their interest in self-development may be greater than the desire for more material wealth. While on holiday Twelves would prefer the bright lights and entertainment in cities while Seventeens would prefer country life among trees, rivers, creeks, animals and the relative silence of natural surroundings. They are also attracted to places of historical and archaeological interest. In general, a good amount of self-time will be needed and accorded to each other during their spare time.

Different values are held in regard to money and its usage. Twelves possess an easy attitude towards money. They are generous in personal expenditure and their optimistic nature does not entertain too much concern for future needs. Seventeens, despite the non-materialistic element in their make-up, take a cautious and responsible attitude towards money. Personal expenses are not as high and financial security is important to their wellbeing. This is not a pessimistic attitude but a purely businesslike one that expects a profitable use of money; the 1 and 8 aspects being responsible for this. They may attempt, with some success, to keep a Twelve partner’s spending habits under control. Apart from normal household expenses, decisions relating to larger financial matters should be made by the Seventeen with the Twelve’s consent. Basically, the difference between them will be optimism and generosity by the Twelve and the business-like efficiency by the Seventeen. Both show generosity towards others but while the Twelve’s generosity may not always be well chosen, the Seventeen takes great care to give only to those who can make best use of their money.

In the matter of romance neither of the two likes to be pursued. Both prefer to do the pursuing and take the initiative in lovemaking. The Twelve, however, expects to be fussed over once the conquest has been made. They should not expect too much sentimental attention from a Seventeen as demonstration of emotion is not a natural expression of this individual’s love and affection. On the other hand, the attention paid to a Seventeen by the Twelve will be less than they expect for themselves. This may suit the Seventeen as any attention paid to them needs to be quite subtle because they are not comfortable with emotional demonstration. They are quite adept at concealing their feelings and revealing them only in strict privacy and in special circumstances. Love moods of these partners may not always coincide. Those of the Twelve may be more frequent and short-lived while those of the Seventeen less frequent but long lasting. Frequency of verbal endearments will also be a Twelve’s privilege by virtue of their spontaneity and verbal effectiveness. By and large, interaction between these partners will be of mutual benefit. The influence of the Seventeen will help the Twelve emerge from an attitude of mind that the world revolves around them while the Twelve will introduce more vivacity, gaiety and sociability into the naturally reserved Seventeen.

12TH AND 18TH BIRTHDAYS

The most interesting aspect of Numerology Compatibility is found in the variety of personality types created by the vibration or vibrations of each day of the month. The primary consideration during an analysis of these personalities is to determine whether they are inclined towards positivity or negativity in their attitudes, whether they fluctuate between the two states, or function at a point in between. Thereafter, all other considerations follow a relatively predetermined course. Often it will be necessary to examine the birth month before a decision is made. This may be necessary when the birthday does not clearly indicate the position. The certainty of a positive personality is the presence of the 1 vibration in the birthday. When this is not present the need to look to the birth month arises. Positivity in all persons born on the 12th and 18th days is unmistakable. If any of these individuals is found to suffer some negative traits environmental conditioning and not their birthright will be responsible. However, these persons usually outgrow such traits with maturity.

Twelves and Eighteens are admittedly different personality types, but the positive features they share and which could be the catalyst for conflict are self-confidence, independence, decisiveness, authority, leadership and willpower. Positive people do not let their lives to be governed by circumstances created by others. They quite naturally make correct evaluation of things and events and shape their lives accordingly. The degree in which their positive attributes are manifested may not be the same, but it would be sufficient to cause conflict if adjustments and compromises are not made. Inflexibility could be stronger in the Eighteen if the birth month is the 1st, 4th or 8th.

Due to their basic positive features Twelves and Eighteens will not be drawn together through the law of natural attraction of opposites. But if other circumstances bring them together the first problem to be overcome will be the natural tendency in each to assume a leading or decision making role. Neither will fall willingly into a secondary position. It would not be natural for one to live in the shadow of the other, nor would they remain content in a subordinate position in public life. An equal partnership in which areas of responsibility are clearly defined so that they do not tread on each other’s toes is their only option.

The Twelve personality is a well adjusted individual as the three vibrations (1 + 2 = 3) that form their personality merge harmoniously to create an unified and versatile individual. They are good all-rounders or all-purpose people. They do not suffer from indecision, inaction or inconsistence as a result of contradictions within their personality structure. Any changes they make in their affairs will be due to a natural desire for new and better things. Their concentration is above average enabling them to go about their business with their minds set fast upon the task at hand, excluding extraneous events. The combination of the 1 and 3 aspects provides initiative, inventiveness, a creative imagination and optimism. Subjects of these vibratory forces are constantly on the lookout for more than one form of creative activity. Boredom, laziness and complacency are negative features foreign to their nature. The 2 aspect compliments the 1 and 3 as this is a supportive, adaptable and cooperative force. It also serves to curtail excessive ego-oriented actions that may be created by the 1 and 3, thereby affecting a good balance within the personality. Over and above all these features the hallmark of the Twelve is youthfulness with its natural passion for joyful living. Their aim is to live their lives and to do so with the naturalness of an uncomplicated nature. By contrast, the Eighteen is of a more profound nature. Basically a Nine personality, the Eighteen is powerfully influenced by the vast practical experience of their 8 aspect and the innate wisdom of the 9. The 1 component provides the impetus for emphatic manifestation of these forces.

The hallmark of the Eighteen is adulthood. All Eighteens possess the potential to leave a mark upon society. Their touch will be felt by a wide range of people. The extent Eighteens use their considerable potential will depend on their background and current environment. It is impossible, however, to envisage an Eighteen as a consistent loser. They are natural winners in whatever they undertake of their own accord. They will stagnate in frustration if circumstances place them in a position that stifles their initiative and powers of organisation. These are talents provided by all three vibrations individually and collectively. The one problem experienced by an Eighteen will be the contrasting nature of the basic 9 and the outer features of the 1 and 8. The 9 vibration in the Eighteen (1 + 8 = 9) creates the humanitarian and deep thinker on moral, philosophical and mystical issues. The 1 and 8 create the practical no-nonsense business personality and administrator. These vibrations do not place limitations on ambition for gaining influence over others in public life and the acquisition of material prosperity. By contrast, the 9 element places strict limitations on the desire for power over others and the possession of excessive material goods. What the 9 aspect urges is an unlimited benign influence upon the welfare of a wide range of people. The Eighteen has to reconcile these different forces. Affecting a balance may be difficult as the 1 and 8 are forceful vibrations, while the 9 is a temperate and benevolent one whose influence may be felt only spasmodically in early and middle life. However, after the Eighteen has achieved their ambitions in the world the 9 aspect will emerge and evoke the philanthropic element that may have remained dormant in the early years. The older Eighteen will thereafter function as a humanitarian.

These partners are not domesticated people, least of all the Eighteen. The Twelve, by virtue of the 2 aspect, possesses some attraction to the quietude of domestic life as opposed to the competitiveness and noise of public life. However, in order to realise their highest possibilities Twelves need to be involved in a career that offers opportunities for regular expression of their creative and artistic talents. The talents of the Eighteen, on the other hand, are best demonstrated in self-employment or in an organisation that offers full freedom of expression for their administrative and organisational skills. Both partners, in different ways, possess an infectious vitality which creates enthusiastic support and cooperation from subordinates and their peers. The ability to motivate others is a quality inherent in both. Twelves may not always separate their public responsibilities from their private lives. They may involve their partners in their worries and pleasures. Eighteens seldom bring home their troubles and usually minimise their triumphs. While justifiably proud of their achievements they do not display their pride or seek the adulation of others. Twelves, on the other hand, may expect acknowledgement of their successes. Both use an active social life and several hobbies as outlets from the pressures of public life.

Both partners possess social graces that gain or assure popularity wherever they function. One condition they cannot abide by is isolation or loneliness because their best expression of their gifts is made during interaction with people. Twelves are natural entertainers while many Eighteens would be looked upon as guides, philosophers and friends. As both are optimistic by nature, their presence lifts the tone of any company or situation. They effortlessly fraternise with strangers and in the course of time gather a host of friends and acquaintances. An interesting social life will be a mutually enjoyable feature. As good mixers they are not the type that feels complete and confident in one situation and anxious and uncomfortable in another setting. Neither are they apologetic by nature. They do not seek to justify or explain their decisions and actions. Both are capable of playing a leading role in any group, and strangely enough, they are not likely to compete with each other. Eighteens are more likely to take greater notice of other peoples’ reactions. They do not see people and situations as opportunities for personal advantage, but rather as opportunities for enlargement of experience and for responsible sharing of their own considerable experience. Twelves may use people as avenues for self-expression but, at the same time, provide good fellowship.

Eighteens generate a larger quantity of emotion. Despite their positive nature a fair amount of negative emotion is churned up and retained through frustration caused by restricted situations and the incapacity of the sort of people they are obliged to deal with. This will not happen with their Twelve partners. By and large, emotion does not arise and settle as evenly in the Eighteen as it does in a Twelve. There are periods of withdrawal or exuberance in the Eighteen caused by emotional turmoil which will not be seen in the Twelve. A visible display of emotion by the Twelve is usually one of enjoyment. Emotional control is not a problem as negative behaviour by others does not create any lasting reactions. Consequently, moodiness or excessive display of excitement and inapproachability are not features seen in the average Twelve.

The difference in the emotional content of these partners is clearly seen in their body language and oral expression. Both are gifted with eloquence, although fluency and readiness to enter into general conversation are qualities seen more often in the Twelve. Also ego-oriented speech enters much more into the Twelve’s conversation than in the Eighteen. While Eighteens remain open to what others have to say Twelves stay engrossed in what they wish to say. Yet, the Twelve’s conversation is usually entertaining due to their fine sense of humour, lively imagination, colourful language and general cheerfulness. Variation of emotion is once again more noticeable in the Eighteen’s speech than in the Twelve. Eighteens are genuine motivators in any field of activity. In this position they emerge as powerful and influential speakers and emotion is used positively. As general conversationalists their participation depends largely on the mentality of the group they may be in and also on their own mood. They may fluctuate between lively conversation and relative silence (however, this tendency will be most affected by the birth month in which they were born). Banal conversation will seldom hold their attention.

The vibrations forming both personality types create talented sportspersons. Sporting activities will take up a large portion of their recreational time. Once again, differences will be observed in their attitudes. Eighteens are highly competitive people who place no limits on their ambition to be the best in any field and they usually turn out to be so. As supporters, players, coaches and administrators their dedication is complete and their attitude towards opposition thoroughly combative. Twelves participate for the pleasure they derive from these activities and are not carried away emotionally to the same degree as the Eighteen. Besides their sporting talents they will undertake other interests and may not remain as dedicated to sport as the Eighteen. All Twelves possess artistic talents in one form or another. Music, literature, drama, painting, dance and any form of artistic expression attracts the Twelve. Eighteens, too, possess a latent attraction to the fine arts which could be smothered but not extinguished by too much concentration on sport and business interests. A Twelve partner may take the initiative to encourage the Eighteen, and develop a mutual interest in exploring the fine arts.

Both partners are capable of contributing generously towards the financial stability of their partnership. Using their artistic talents Twelves can engage in income-producing activities besides their regular lines of work. Eighteens are more likely to use their business and administrative expertise to concentrate heavily on their main source of income. Many Twelves would prefer to have someone else manage their financial affairs as long as they are allowed to retain some control over a portion for personal expenditure. An Eighteen partner will fulfil this role admirably. The average Eighteen will be extremely reluctant to release management of money matters into other hands. Not only are they capable of managing their own affairs but they are also competent to handle financial affairs of others. The spending habits of these partners will not vary a great deal. While neither can be charged with either cost-cutting or extravagance they are generous spenders on personal needs and on social obligations as well as good investments.

As the relationship develops and these partners begin to appreciate each other’s qualities, which they are sure to do sooner or later, the rewards will be worth their efforts. With no self-defeating features on the one hand or overbearing tendencies on the other, they can look towards a partnership based on love, loyalty, mutual respect and the exchange of special skills. Differences can be discussed and settled without acrimony and a line of communication kept open. While an Eighteen may take some time to emerge from an emotional setback the Twelve bounces back quickly without a residue of resentment. More often than not this partner will take the initiative to settle differences that arise from time to time.

12TH AND 19TH BIRTHDAYS

The 12th day of the month creates a qualified Three personality (1 + 2 = 3). Features of the 1 and 2 vibrations mingle harmoniously with those of the basic 3 creating a uniform and well adjusted integral personality. The 1 introduces attributes from the physical plane, the 2 from the emotional and the 3 from the mental plane. These vibrations are essentially egocentric forces. Consequently, the thoughts and actions of the average Twelve are geared towards an ‘I’ and ‘My’ approach to life as opposed to a ‘We’ and ‘Us’ process favoured by more objective individuals. Although personal needs are usually given precedence over the needs of others Twelves are not ungenerous people. They are, in fact, quite free with their time and resources once reminded by circumstances of their obligations.

The Nineteen is a One personality (1 + 9 = 10 = 1) remodelled by the powerful forces of the 9 vibration. The 1 and 9 vibrations at the opposite ends of the number spectrum symbolise quite different characteristics. The 1 represents the starting point and therefore self-sufficiency, individuality and egocentricity. The 9 represents the culmination of the characteristics of all the other digits from 1 to 9, and imparts impersonal, worldwide and humanitarian attitudes. In many ways the 1 vibration creates the ‘getter’ and the 9 the ‘giver’ thereby fulfilling the natural order of evolution from the primal 1 stage of beginning to completion at the 9 stage. The Nineteen personality does not always act as a well-integrated force as the Twelve does, but discovers the need to reconcile the two diverse elements within their integral personality. They usually do so when the 9 qualities activate and modify the self-seeking desires created by the 1 When this change takes place the best 1 characteristics are elevated and expanded to form a superior One personality.

A Twelve/Nineteen partnership will be a combination of resourceful and self-sufficient individuals motivated by a positive outlook on life which enables them to make full use of their natural talents. Positivity is the outcome of the 1 vibration within both birthdays which endows both partners with the energy, willpower, ambition, self-confidence and perseverance to succeed in whatever course of action they undertake. Some initial differences of opinion can be expected when two strong personalities enter into a relationship. Until certain adjustments and reorientation of their expectations are made true harmony will not be established, nor will they successfully pool the resources of their richly endowed personalities. All agreements have to be made with the understanding that neither partner would adjust to a subordinate position or accept arbitrary decisions of the other. Both are quick decision makers able to arrive at speedy solutions to any problem or challenge. The Twelve’s decisions are usually optimistic and inclined to be hasty at times. They need to take care that personal feelings and prejudices do not interfere with the need for objective judgments. Nineteens too, do not linger when decisions need to be made in a hurry, although more objectivity enters into their conclusions. The difference between these personalities is caused by the general youthfulness of the 3 vibration and the emotion in the 2 as major parts of the Twelve’s construction. Wisdom is the hallmark of the 9 vibration which provides maturity to the Nineteen and the ability to stand aside of themselves and make impersonal assessments. While Nineteens are often self-critical Twelves may be inclined to view any personal flaws with complacency.

The leadership manner of these partners is neither aggressive, dictatorial nor manipulative. They do not believe that it is important to hold absolute power over others. It is just their natural propensity to retain their individuality and exercise their freedom of thought and action that generates the desire to take the initiative in all matters that may give rise to conflict or misunderstanding. This problem can be solved when both recognise and acknowledge their individuality, agree upon areas of responsibility and always maintain lines of communication. Positive individuals understandably do not wish to be accountable to anyone for their actions. However, once it is realised that in an intimate relationship this habit has to be relaxed they are well on the way towards a unified and harmonious combination.

A lifestyle tied to domestic responsibility, despite its varied obligations, will not appeal to either partner. Both need to pursue a career in public life which provides better opportunities for exploitation of their natural endowments. Being extroverted and energetic people their best expression is made when interacting with others in a position of influence and authority. Subordinate positions inhibit full execution of their talents and give rise to frustration and even insubordination. Twelves may willingly undertake more than one income-earning occupation. Apart from regular lines of employment their avocations often provide opportunities for monetary gain. However, many Twelves not being aware of their full potential may not take full commercial advantage of their gifts. Leading a happy life is more attractive to most Twelves than dedicating it to the accumulation of money and material goods. Despite their busy lives essential domestic duties will not be neglected by a Twelve. This partner will be quite willing to enter into an equitable distribution of domestic work. Nineteens are likely to concentrate on a single career in which they invariably gain eminence. Avocations taken up by them are usually of a voluntary or non-profit nature to do with some form of humanitarian activity. Nineteens, too, lead exceptionally busy lives and their range of activity may take them beyond that of the Twelve. Consequently, less time will be available for domestic duties.

Social activity is another factor that will add to their involved lifestyle. Both partners will be seen as leaders in any social scene; the Twelve in fashion and entertainment generally, and the Nineteen in education and the upliftment of social conscience. These are also individuals who do not adjust their behaviour to conform to a pattern of conduct laid down by rigid community standards; nor do they shape their conduct according to the private opinions of others. On the contrary, members of the community are usually willing to accept them as initiators, trend setters and spokespersons. A matter that should not be neglected by them is the need to control their public activities and apportion a reasonable amount of time for family togetherness in both work and play. It would not be wise for each to separately carry out allocated domestic tasks at different times. As far as possible they should endeavour to spend time working together. While both partners may find friends and acquaintances in many walks of life the Twelve is likely to be involved with a greater number of contacts. They may not be as particular or discriminating in their choice of company as is a Nineteen. The Nineteen is rather exclusive in their choice of close friends and less tolerant of persons with superficial values. However, their sympathy and help will always be willingly extended to anyone who approaches them.

The self-expression of the Nineteen is allied to their need to be of moral and spiritual help to those in need. They know how to listen and are therefore seldom carried away by one-sided conversation of their own. Twelves, on the other hand, tend to be one-sided talkers and impatient listeners, pursuing their own lines of thought without concerning themselves too much about what others have to say. With an extensive vocabulary, a vivid imagination and a fine sense of humour they usually relieve to some extent the pressure they impose on others by their fondness to concentrate on their own affairs. Eloquent gestures and witty observations while natural to the Twelve are not exclusive to them. These are features that are not only present in the Nineteen but may also be found to be expressed on a much higher register. The body language of the Nineteen reveals a degree of maturity and reserve as opposed to the cheerful and animated gestures of the Twelve. Although both personalities can summon a variety of lines of argument in support of their views they are not habitually argumentative people. They would rather state their views emphatically and rationally and expect to have them accepted. Consequently, Twelves and Nineteens should not experience difficulty appreciating each other’s opinions or points of view. Patience is the only quality they need to cultivate.

These partners will not need to follow different pastimes during their leisure periods. Physical activity as well as mental entertainment can be enjoyed together. They are types that can cultivate and draw upon their own resources for happiness and self-development, and rely less on others for creating pleasurable activities. A difference may, however, be seen in the Twelve’s inclination to confine themselves to mental and physical realms while Nineteens may take themselves and their Twelve partners into higher realms of abstract thought and study. The 9 aspect in the Nineteen introduces flashes of knowledge from no readily recognisable source and this is usually the stimulus for conscious enquiry into non-physical aspects of life. Although both are quite extroverted there is a stronger tendency in the Nineteen, given the opportunity, to move among people who are different to themselves in their cultural and spiritual backgrounds. In doing so they not only evoke knowledge that has remained dormant from within themselves but are also able to contribute to the general knowledge of any gathering. If a Nineteen fails in this direction it will not be due to the absence of potential but rather the denial of opportunity by environmental restrictions. The chances are that they usually break through these restrictions at some time or the other. All they need is a slight push, as it were, from someone or some special circumstance to set them off on the road to spiritual enquiry and community leadership. Although much enjoyment and many advantages can be gained by mutual interest and joint participation in one or more undertakings these partners are not dependent on each other to shape a way of life that enhances their wellbeing. By mutual consent they can establish a balance between togetherness and independent activity.

An important area in any partnership is the financial side. The amount and manner in which money is earned, spent and saved has considerable bearing on the eventual harmony in a relationship. Twelves and Nineteens are not likely to experience irresponsible or destructive habits in either. While neither considers money the most important thing in life both enjoy the freedom money can bring. They are naturally endowed with the capacity to earn a good living. Income should never be a problem although there could be slight variations in their spending habits. Twelves do not deny themselves personal luxuries and spend rather freely on a day-to-day basis. Although their spending habits will not be taken to extremes they do not always bother going after bargains, or question whether they obtain full value for money spent. Nineteens are less self-indulgent and are not constant shoppers, but when they do spend they may spend up big! Serious gambling is not a habit that will be acquired by either partner. Both may have the same disposition in the savings department. While not overly anxious of their future financial position they share reasonable concerns for the need to provide for the future. Both possess the confidence and ability to bounce back when the chips are down and rise above adversity. However, it is not likely that this combination of talent will find themselves in financial difficulties.

The degree to which emotion is expressed or demonstrated has a bearing on the tolerance levels in all intimate relationships. Persons whose emotions are contained cannot usually abide by volatile or highly demonstrative and gesticulating partners. At the same time, a partnership between emotional or highly temperamental partners will be disastrous. Partners who do not visibly display their emotions and are not ruled by them are usually in control of their lives and their relationships. With certain individual differences Twelves and Nineteens fall into this last category, as mind rules both individuals. In general they will not take sentimentality and emotional displays to an extent that could be distasteful or embarrassing. Twelves are more at ease with their emotions due to the more evenly balanced make-up of their integral personality. The 2 aspect provides a controlled outlet for emotional release. Control is affected by the physical 1 and mental 3. The 19th day does not provide an outlet from the emotional plane and therefore, from easy emotional release when necessary. There is indeed considerable emotion generated by the vibrations of the 19th day. Emotion is built up and released in outbursts from time to time. However such outbursts are seldom damaging due to the combined forces of rationality in their personality. An emotional number in the birth month in some Nineteens will prevent the build-up of emotion to some degree. Communication by touch will be used by these partners only on rare occasions as these are personality types that do not favour too much invasion of personal space. However, communication by thought transference will be normal with them.

These partners may reveal a tendency to work out their troubles alone, not through distrust of their partners but more as a natural habit of shouldering their own problems. This may be especially so with the Nineteen. Both should cultivate the habit of opening out to each other and working through their problems together. The more they do so the more they will see that each has a great deal to contribute towards individual and mutual wellbeing.

12TH AND 20TH BIRTHDAYS

Please refer to the chapter on the 2nd and 12th birthdays. There is no material difference between the Two/Twelve and the Twelve/Twenty relationship. Two and Twenty personalities are almost identical. The Zero in the Twenty does not contribute any additional characteristics. The most it may do is emphasise the Two features. It should be noted, however, that positivity in the Twenty as in the Two depends on the existence of the 1 vibration in the birth month. If this is not present the Twenty may vary in various forms of negative expression.

12TH AND 21ST BIRTHDAYS

The chapter on the 12th and 12th birthdays will adequately cover this combination. Both are basically qualified Three personalities (1 + 2 = 3). The 1 and the 2 vibrations mingle harmoniously with the basic 3 forming well-integrated positive personality structures.

12TH AND 22ND BIRTHDAYS

Although the numbers 12 and 22 are reduced to 3 and 4 respectively, the 12th and 22nd days do not form centralised Three and Four personalities. Their integral personalities are qualified by several additional influences that distinguish them from those born on the 3rd or 4th days of the month. Consequently, this is a combination that is much more complicated than that between a Three and Four couple. People with several facets to their personalities think and act on a wider and more varied scale, and therefore spread their wings further afield than those with concentrated attributes.

Twelves, and Twenty-Twos in particular, belong to this diversified type. The immediate problem that arises when two widespread and energetic minds get together is the harmonising of their multitude of thoughts and actions. Self-expression and expectations in a Twelve/Twenty-Two combination will not be near enough to make this an easy task. Nonetheless, a good measure of compatibility can be established as these are not weak individuals who give up a challenge easily. In their different ways, using their individual attributes, they can agree to reconcile dissimilarities that may threaten or interrupt a happy and loving relationship.

The Twelve is a harmonious blend of the 1, 2 and 3 vibrations (1 + 2 = 3). There are no conflicting features here because characteristics of these vibrations complement each other to create a strong and uniform integral personality. Qualities such as initiative, self-confidence, sensitivity, adaptability, versatility and extroversion are present in equal strength as all levels of expression are open to the Twelve – the physical through the 1, the emotional through the 2, and the mental through the 3. These are, at the same time, vibrations that represent an egocentric stage of life and are therefore manifested as such in their subjects. Concern for personal welfare and absorption in their ambitions usually take precedence over attention to the needs and desires of others. This is a natural process with the early numbers or vibrations. A subtle difference between selfishness and self-centredness has to be noted here. Twelves are by no means people who selfishly hold on to their goods or refuse to give their time and services to others. They are, in fact, the opposite. They are quite generous with their possessions and their time once a special request is made. All they need is to be gently reminded of a special need of a partner, dependant or friend. It should surprise no one if they revert back to their normal state thereafter.

Although Twelves are multisided and all-round individuals, they are not complicated people with contradictory elements that cause inner turmoil and uncertainty within their self-concept. As mentioned before, they function as well-integrated units. This would be the case regardless of the influence of the important vibration of their birth month. An additional 1, 2, or 3 here will increase the effectiveness of this vibration without noticeably altering the harmony of the overall personality structure.

The 22nd day is governed by a master vibration. Unlike the Twelve personality which is already formed by the birthday and does not depend on the birth month for a clear identity, the nature of a Twenty-Two varies according to the vibration of the birth month. Consequently, there are Twenty-Twos of various types. Some function with positive execution of manifold talents to considerable personal fulfilment and benefit to a wide variety of people. Others suffer from several negative features which inhibit natural gifts and give rise to self-created problems in their interaction with others. The major failings in these negative Twenty-Twos are abnormal self-consciousness, hypersensitivity, personal insecurity and an unreliable psychic sense. They do not function at the level of the master vibration, but rather fall back as negative Four personalities. Creations of a powerful negative imagination are often projected onto others and seen and reacted to as if they belong to them. The result is a rash, unfair and invariably wrong judgment of the motives and actions of others. Twenty-Twos born in the 2nd month are especially subject to these negative features. Despite these personality deficits their practical skills remain unimpaired.

Positive Twenty-Twos are those born in the 1st, 10th, 11th and 12th months. These individuals have the potential to lift themselves to the full implementation of the features of the master vibration. Many may not, due to contrary family habits, cultural background and other environmental restrictions. However, they are certain to function as strong positive Fours, superior to the Four born on the 4th day. Twenty-Twos born in the other months vary according to the nature of the vibrations of the particular month. Those born in the 3rd month are exceptionally artistic while the 4th month introduces practicality and a materialistic outlook on life. The 5th month creates Twenty-Twos who are versatile, emotional, restless and changeable in temperament. The 6th month creates a Twenty-Two who is home and family oriented. The 7th month will bring out the true spiritual enquirer and practitioner of spiritual values. Emotion is well under control with these Twenty-Twos. Those born in the 8th month generate a great deal of emotion which could be expressed aggressively more often than desirable. They insist on organised lives and are keen on material wealth and power over others. The 9th month will produce the true internationalist, and cultural, artistic, ethical end spiritual values take precedence over all other considerations.

When a Twelve enters into a relationship with someone born on the 22nd day he or she acquires a partner who could be one of several types. On the other hand, a Twenty-Two who enters into a partnership with a Twelve meets a single personality type. It is not possible to detail the degree of compatibility that could exist between a Twelve and each type of Twenty-Two in this type of work. Clearly a partnership with a positive Twenty-Two will have the best chance of success because in this individual, emotion is not allowed to govern reason, nor is self-consciousness allowed to interfere with rational evaluation of persons and situations. The truth is that a Twelve could be more compatible with a practical and homely Four than with a Twenty-Two who aspires to the heights of the master vibration. The chapter dealing with the 4th and 12th birthdays should be of interest.

The ambitions of a Twelve are confined to personal achievement while those of a full-blown and positive Twenty-Two are largely impersonal, humanitarian and international. Personal advantage is very much a secondary or, in some cases, a non-existent issue. Application of spiritual values seldom enters into the actions of a Twelve, whereas positive Twenty-Twos constantly seek to harmonise spiritual and worldly values. A wider and deeper interest in other faiths and cultures distinguishes them from the Twelve, and in fact, from most other personality types. Contrast between the personal and impersonal could lead to misunderstanding and some degree of conflict between Twelves and Twenty-Twos.

The Twelve’s method of leadership and decision making is clear and precise. They are not plagued by fears and doubts especially those that are imaginary or irrational. The combined force of the 1 and 3 vibrations bring out genuine leadership attributes and make them natural leaders. The 2 prevents any arbitrary or dictatorial elements affecting their demeanour. Twenty-Twos, whether they swing between the characteristics of the 4 or the master vibration are not usually instant decision makers or clear and outright leaders. They may lead by example as they are usually good organisers. They prefer to take their time arranging matters and could display hesitancy when faced with the need to make sudden decisions. In a Twelve/Twenty-Two relationship the Twelve will usually take care of decisions on short term matters while the Twenty-Two will take care of decisions on long term matters. The toughest problem faced by the Twelve is the Twenty-Two’s easily hurt feelings. Twelves quite naturally cannot be expected to take particular care to nurture the Twenty-Two’s feelings at all times. While they are naturally courteous and polished in their manner they are also straightforward and realistic in speech and body language. This may not always be sufficient in dealing with some Twenty-Twos who take umbrage easily due to a vivid imagination that could be geared negatively. On the other hand, these same Twenty-Twos could be dogmatic, opinionated and overbearing in their own approach to others. With a badly negative Twenty-Two the Twelve will not be dealing with a realistic or logical partner, but rather one who is bursting with pride, vanity and prejudices. At the same time they would be dealing with a partner who is practical and versatile in handling both delicate hand work and heavy manual labour. A Twenty-Two would easily outlast a Twelve in monotonous work that also requires skills. Twenty-Twos possess surprisingly strong inner resources which help them to patiently survive hard times. The Twelve is essentially an ideas person yet not without practicality, while Twenty-Twos are essentially practical persons without ideas of their own. In regard to abstract and spiritual thought many Twenty-Twos are far ahead of the Twelve. Being practical idealists and visionaries there is inevitably some degree of conflict between the upward pull of their spiritual nature and the downward pull of the physical and materialistic desires. Twelves do not suffer from these extremes.

Both partners are essentially career oriented persons, although Twenty-Twos, especially those born in the 6th month and to a lesser degree the 2nd and 4th months, could be content to adapt to a domestic lifestyle. Patience and understanding will be required by both partners to ensure an equal distribution of domestic tasks. Unlike some couples, where one partner is better at domestic tasks than the other, both Twelves and Twenty-Twos are equally capable of doing anything within the domestic scene. The problem they may face is the availability of time, as both may be heavily involved in their careers and other public undertakings.

Motivated by a healthy form of optimism and a bustling confidence in themselves Twelves are popular social figures. They do not see others as a threat to their wellbeing or look upon them as competitors to be watched. In fact, they regard others with the same assurance as they regard themselves. The same can be said of all positive Twenty-Twos but not of those who suffer from various forms of negativity. These negative Twenty-Twos distrust themselves and transfer their distrust onto others. They could be quite critical of others and are seldom socially popular. While positive Twenty-Twos can be motivated by thoughts and feelings of expansion and strong benevolent objectives, negative Twenty-Twos submit to those of contraction and self-absorbed habits. The suggestive influences of a good environment, heredity and education has, without doubt, considerable bearing on all Twelves and Twenty-Twos as they do for all individuals. It helps those who are positive to maximise their potential and negative individuals to overcome or minimise their defects. The lead in social activity will be generally taken by the Twelve partner in all light-hearted entertainment. All Twenty-Twos prefer interaction of a more profound nature and could easily be put off by frivolity or surface entertainment. Their sense of humour is not as free and spontaneous as that of a Twelve.

An extensive vocabulary, fluency of speech, with the confidence and ability to hold the attention of an audience are special attributes of the Twelve. Within this relationship the Twelve will be the talkative partner dealing with topics ranging from the frivolous and humorous to practical matters. Romance is also a delightful aspect of their personality which is apparent in their speech, body language and personal interests such as romantic music and literature. Twenty-Twos may not respond equally to the Twelve’s degree of oral expression and romantic overtures. Their pragmatic nature plus their attraction to metaphysical and spiritual topics do not summon the need for much speech or emotional demonstration. However, while Twelves may outdo them in romantic actions Twenty-Twos may surpass them in sexual performance. Like most healthy Fours they are strong physical partners in the proper place at the proper time.

One aspect of life in which Twelves and all Twenty-Twos would find common ground will be hobbies and avocations they undertake. Both are creative as well as performing artists with a keen sense of beauty, form and design. The sense of beauty is stronger in the Twelve while the sense of form and design is keener in the Twenty-Two. A truly rewarding combination can be formed in music, drama, art and literature. Self-expression can be spontaneous in the Twelve with little or no hesitation for occupying the spotlight. Most Twenty-Twos may prefer to execute their creative talents in the background. Both possess the potential to excel as composers of music, conductors and leaders of orchestras, fashion designers, writers (romance and humour), beauticians, calligraphers, dancers and dance instructors, florists, sign writers, cartoonists, choreographers, fashion models, jewellers, masseurs and sculptors. Spiritual investigation and practice is an area in which some Twenty-Twos will branch out and not be followed by a Twelve. The hallmark of the number 22 as the symbol of a master vibration is its blend of spirituality and practicality. Circumstances may create some inner conflict and indecision in many Twenty-Twos as a result of moral, ethical and spiritual values coexisting with material and physical desires. Reconciliation of the two aspects will be a perennial battle. Almost all Twenty-Twos possess precognitive, intuitive and clairvoyant gifts which can be used beneficially in their own affairs as well as helping the needs of others. Twelve partners may not be attracted as readily to this aspect of the Twenty-Two’s activities but they would not be hostile or opposed to it. Twelves, by virtue of the 2 aspect of their personality, are able to develop clairvoyance and other related features and join their Twenty-Two partners, but in most instances they may be too busy in other activities to be able to do so successfully.

Both partners are equally capable of contributing to a comfortable income. They are also able to manage their finances responsibly. Twelves may tend to spend more on themselves, particularly in dress and other accessories. They enjoy variety, and need to keep up with all modern trends. Many Twelves set new trends in fashion. Twenty-Twos can vary from generosity to outright meanness. Neither partner will agree to be restricted or controlled in their spending. It is, therefore, important that each has the freedom to spend a certain amount of money without one being held accountable to the other.

As neither partner can be kept under control, considerable freedom of movement and action must be accorded to each in order that their relationship is to succeed. Furthermore, this is not a conventional combination in which similar needs and aspirations predominate. Every effort needs to be made to emphasise those features they have in common, and an understanding of those in which they do not share an interest. Almost all Twelves are a healthy combination of modern and traditional values. Remaining within the bounds of convention does not inhibit their talents and expansive ideas. Many Twenty-Twos, on the other hand, could seek an unconventional lifestyle. Often at war with the established order of society they are not intentionally rebellious, but rather their bohemian habits often place them outside the pale of conventional society. There are also Twenty-Twos who take the other extreme and lead strictly conventional and insular lifestyles.

12TH AND 23RD BIRTHDAYS

A cursory glance at this birthday combination reveals not merely an abundance of talent but also the availability of several outlets for successful execution of these natural gifts. Twelve and Twenty-Three personalities, on the one hand, have much in common with the promise of an exciting future. On the other hand, the manner in which they employ their assets will differ. Mutual attraction will not take place on the basis of an interchange of attributes but rather for the activities they can jointly engage in. The relationship will not be without its share of confrontation and competition as a consequence of their ability to perform any task with equal competence. Constant watchfulness will be needed to prevent an excess of competition and argument from damaging their intimacy. Whatever happens, this will not be a relationships that would flounder through boredom or loss of interest in life as a whole or in each other. If at all, there would be a need for both partners to harness their activities in such a way that their varied interests will keep them functioning as a team as much as possible. The temptation to strike out on their own will often lead each along an individual course due to the need for personal freedom being essential for both in different ways.

As the need for independent action is alive in every strand of their personality structure these are not dependent personalities. They may certainly enjoy each other’s company but they do not necessarily depend on each other for fulfilment of their ambitions. They resent being held accountable to anyone for their actions. As they need to retain a good portion of their time for personal use they should not be expected to commit themselves to domestic responsibilities. Inevitably a frequent shifting, combining and separating of their association will take place.

There is a pertinent difference between these birthdays that has a bearing on the relationship. The 12th day contains the 1 vibration which, among other things, provides strength of purpose, persistence and tenacity. In other words, the strength to resist other temptations and the determination to stick to a task or undertaking until it is successfully completed. As the 23rd day does not provide this directing and stabilising force, Twenty-Threes are changeable individuals who may allow themselves to be pulled in different directions by the multiplicity of their talents and desires. Those Twenty-Threes born in the 1st, 10th, 11th, and 12th months are able to minimise this tendency and harness their natural skills constructively and maintain a steady course. They are also able to exercise better control over their emotional nature. Other Twenty-Threes are likely to be too temperamental for the comfort of a Twelve partner and also for their own welfare. In such instances the Twelve will be forced to readjust many of their expectations for a lifestyle based on organisation and regularity. They are, in fact, quite flexible even though most Twelves will insist on accuracy and completion and seldom or never acquire the habit of leaving any loose ends.

It is difficult to typify the Twenty-Three unless one regards them as interesting, dynamic and attractive individuals with an infectious vitality and active curiosity, and as persons whose actions and reactions cannot be taken for granted. While Twelves enjoy a state of mind in which reason and feeling are generally in harmony, in Twenty-Threes impulse and emotion exercise a stronger hold over the personality.

The Twelve’s pattern of leadership and decision making is more consistent than that of the Twenty-Three. The urge to take charge and run things their own way is stronger in the Twelve. Twenty-Threes, on the other hand, do not insist on outright control over persons and situations. They are skilled at getting things done through various methods of persuasion and even manipulation. With extra powers of persuasion they usually convert others to their ways of thinking, but this will not be successful with a Twelve partner. Although the Twenty-Three may not insist on taking charge this partner would refuse to turn over responsibility for decision making to the Twelve, especially when any decision has a bearing on their freedom of movement. Personal freedom is more important to the Twenty-Three than responsibilities of leadership. Many Twenty-Trees prefer to do as they please and not be restricted by rules of conduct which a Twelve partner is likely to impose.

A domestic arrangement in which an equal share of responsibility is allocated will be difficult to establish due to the Twenty-Three’s involvement in a variety of activity outside the home, and their general indifference to following a set of duties in sequence. Twelves too, will be attracted to outside interests, but not to the extent of a Twenty-Three. The Twelve may be obliged to shoulder a larger share of domestic work. However, the versatility of the Twenty-Three plus their natural ability to cope with emergencies and sudden changes will always be available. They do not understand fairness in terms of equal distribution of domestic tasks, but would be willing to undertake any form of work with great enthusiasm only in intermittent sessions.

Both partners need the company of others and can be expected to involve themselves in an active social life. A quiet life with periods of silence is not conducive to their wellbeing. Twenty-Threes in particular, find it difficult to put up with their own company whereas Twelves can do so to some small extent. The Twelve’s social life will be orderly and governed by a carefully set social calendar. As Twenty-Threes are much more changeable, adaptable, easily moved by boredom and motivated by a stronger desire for life’s experiences they do not confine themselves to a regular social network. With a sharpened awareness of things and persons around them, and the capacity to cope with swiftly moving social changes their presence has an enlivening impact on any group. The Twelve’s presence is not without a similar affect but it may not be as rapid or instantly gripping as that of a Twenty-Three. Both partners are able to blend mental and emotional behaviour but in different proportions; mental control being stronger in the Twelve while emotional release is easier in all Twenty-Threes. Neither partner will choose to remain as part of a crowd or group or adjust their behaviour to conform to group expectations. Sooner or later they emerge into the limelight on their own terms. Both, unconsciously for the most part, generate their own amusement if a social scene does not conform to their idea of entertainment. It is at this stage that competition to hold the centre of attention will arise between them. By and large, the Twelve possesses more inner security and is able to remain themselves rather than put on a façade to suit a particular situation. In contrast, being natural actors the capacity to put on many faces is a special skill in a Twenty-Three. Many need to do so in order to cover up an insecurity.

Speech is a particular form of self-expression with which both partners are amply favoured. Once again, this is another gift that is used in different ways by each. A good measure of control, both mentally and emotionally, is exercised over speech and body language by the Twelve. They do not suffer from an urge for constant talk, but when they do speak out they do so with a fine tonal quality, authority, and a finality on any chosen subject. Not many choose to contradict them, nor are they tolerant of contradiction or protracted argument. The Twenty-Three’s habits, on the other hand, are almost the opposite. Many feel an incessant urge for conversation, and suffer an inner and outer restlessness when circumstances force them into silence. Their speech has a distinct emotional content accompanied by demonstrative body language. Their manner is usually quite convincing due to a natural talent for showmanship. Animated facial expression plus an exceptional skill in the variable use of words and phrases distinguish them as persuasive and influential speakers who could instantly capture the attention of an audience. They are usually very successful salespersons. Although they speak with conviction they may not always be as knowledgeable about their subject matter as they make out. At the same time it is not easy to corner them or bring them to account because their skill at wrangling out of a tight situation is quite remarkable. Despite a disinclination to do so the Twelve partner will be drawn into frequent argument with a Twenty-Three. The Twelve may be forced to repeat whatever statement they made in the first instance with a quiet obstinacy instead of countering the variety of diversions which the Twenty-Three would introduce in order to avoid facing the main issue. While the speech of most Twelves will remain relatively the same, the Twenty-Three’ s oral expression may vary according to the nature of the vibration of the birth month. Self -dramatisation and exuberance will be less in those born in the 4th, 6th, and 7th day but will be emphasised in those born in the other months in varying degrees. Communication by touch will still be more natural and spontaneous in all Twenty-Threes as they are much less inhibited in their demonstration of affection. Twelves are more restrained in showing their feelings and would feel embarrassed when sentiment is expressed by others in their presence.

Both partners follow their natural inclinations in the choice of hobbies and other activities in non-working hours. Being alert, resourceful and imaginative individuals they are free to engage in a variety of interests, ranging from mental to physical activities. To specify how they would be likely to spend their time would only indicate some degree of limitation. However, Twelves could easily excel as entertainers, and Twenty-Threes as actors as well as entertainers. As it is possible that each may be drawn into individual pursuits it is important that these partners should set aside some periods of the day for couple time and family togetherness. While both enjoy an appetite for life’s experiences the manner in which they do so will, as usual, differ according to their temperaments. The Twelve will exercise a good measure of balance and control while the movement and actions of the Twenty-Three, especially those born in the 5th and 9th months, will be extensive, short-lived, changeable and uninhibited. Having no fear of the unforeseen or for complexity their taste for change seldom diminishes. The experiences they gather in life will always be above average.

An important part of a relationship that could create harmony or disharmony is the financial side of life. It is here that Twelves and Twenty-Threes may find themselves in frequent argument unless each is financially independent. They are not types who could share a common pool of money or agree to a common budget. Both spend generously on personal needs. While Twelves do not deprive themselves of anything they do exercise a degree of caution in their spending habits either. Twenty-Threes are unrestricted spenders and rather more self-indulgent. Twelves will show reasonable care for future security through good investment and saving but Twenty-Threes do not feel the need for insurance in any form. With their first priority being an enjoyable lifestyle money is handled in a non-possessive manner as only a means to an end. A Twelve/Twenty-Three relationship is admittedly one in which a harmonious rhythm of life will not be easy to achieve unless constant conscious effort is made to reduce discord and increase harmony. Both partners possess the alertness and sensitivity to register subtle vibrations that may escape others. Instead of unconsciously using the faculty for personal advantage they should consciously use it to monitor and relate to each other’s feelings and needs. As reality is a matter of personal perception full agreement in all matters is not to be expected, although a good measure of understanding can be gained. Although these partners may be opinionated they are not aggressive, stubborn or narrow-minded people. On the contrary, both possess a capacity for compromise and adjustment. All they need is a circumstance or situation that calls for the need to reach out to one another. It will be at these times that their relationship will grow strong.

12TH AND 24TH BIRTHDAYS

The law of attraction of opposites will be responsible for the commencement and development of a relationship between Twelve and Twenty-Four personalities. The Twelve has an essentially youthful nature that will be attracted to a Twenty-Four for the warmth, care and homeliness which are the natural qualities of this personality. The Twenty-Four, in turn, will be drawn to a Twelve by their vibrant, optimistic, humorous and self-assured ways. In other words, the Twelve secretly or subconsciously feels rested and cared for in the company of a Twenty-Four and the Twenty-Four feels uplifted and elated in the company of a Twelve. The reason for these different impacts is the predominance of active numbers or vibrations in the Twelve who is fundamentally a Three personality (1 + 2 = 3), and the receptive vibrations which form the Twenty-Four who is basically a Six personality (2 + 4 = 6). The temperaments of these partners may differ, but not in ways that create disharmony. A reciprocal course of action is much more consistent with their temperaments than confrontation or rivalry. Competition or challenge in any form will not mar or hinder the interchange of all their positive qualities. The Twenty-Four, in particular, will be the least interested in asserting authority over the Twelve.

Both partners are multi-talented individuals with several outlets for easy execution of their talents. The Twelve is likely to move faster than the Twenty-Four due to the presence of the energetic 1 vibration as part of their integral personality structure. This vibration introduces several self-motivating features as well as self-centred traits. The absence of this force in a Twenty-Four indicates an individual who is neither domineering nor self-promoting. A prominent ego which is a natural feature of the Twelve is in sharp contrast to a toned down ego in the Twenty-Four. Twelves are swift thinkers and impulsive in their actions while Twenty-Fours are deliberate thinkers and methodical in their ways. They need to weigh and consider all practical and profitable aspects of an issue before making a decision. Spontaneity in one and deliberation in the other will no doubt have a salutary effect on this partnership, but not before a measure of compromise and adjustment is made by both. Willingness to make these concessions will be easier to the temperament of the Twenty-Four than to the Twelve.

The personality structure of the Twelve is well-rounded by the 1, 2 and 3 vibrations which represent the physical, emotional and mental planes. Their versatility is not only derived from this fortunate combination of forces but is also energised by the 1 aspect which provides the impetus for maximum employment of their attributes. The 1 vibration also introduces a strong element of ego-consciousness which is not discouraged by the qualities of the 2 and 3 aspects of their personality. Most Twelves are likely to think and act from a personal viewpoint before they consider the position of others. There is, however, an ambivalent condition in all Twelves in regard to giving and receiving goods and services. They are not ungenerous or selfish by nature and although their natural orientation towards self creates a greater desire to receive rather than to give, they are in fact quite generous once they are reminded of their obligations.

The integral personality of the Twenty-Four is also well-rounded. The physical, emotional and mental planes are extensively represented. However, as the propelling force of the 1 vibration is not present, qualities such as competitiveness, high ambition, self-promotion, egotism, instant decision and direct leadership qualities are not normal characteristics. These are replaced by patience, persistence, order, loyalty, balance and a peaceful temperament governed by logical and practical thought processes. The combination of the 4 and 6 vibrations is responsible for these pragmatic qualities. Imagination is confined to practical and functional processes. While the general disposition of most Twelves is cheerful and active, that of the Twenty-Four is placid and easy-going. The Twelve meets life’s events with optimism and confidence while the Twenty-Four does so with caution and a practical interpretation of events. Twenty-Fours do not promote themselves as leaders or assume arbitrary authority, but allow others to lead their own lives as long as they are allowed the same freedom. They are, however, natural teachers, guides, guardians and instructors. A Twelve partner is better equipped to assume the role of decision maker with the tacit consent of the Twenty-Four, but decisions that could be contrary to the Twenty-Four’s wellbeing or the stability of their partnership, especially in financial and family matters, will be stubbornly resisted. Diplomacy is a special skill that can be developed by the Twenty-Four provided they overcome a tendency towards stubbornness. It can be used effectively to solve family problems as it will be this partner who will be approached to solve such matters. Day-to-day decisions in regard to domestic affairs will invariably be made by the Twenty-Four who is likely to take over a larger share of home and family responsibilities. Domesticity is an intrinsic quality in the 4 and 6 vibrations as well as in the 2. Attachment to home and family will therefore be the hallmark of the Twenty-Four. If circumstances make them do so these partners will capably perform the dual task of breadwinner and homemaker. A career in public life will be much more attractive to the extroverted Twelve than a role as a homemaker. While the Twelve would take up occupations demanding originality and creativity Twenty-Fours generally move into the helping and caring professions such as teaching, medicine and the administration of law and order.

A well adjusted social life will be a matter of course with these partners. A prominent position will normally be taken up by the Twelve while the Twenty-Four will choose a comfortable place as an observer and occasional performer. The Twelve is more concerned with self-expression and entertaining others while the Twenty-Four would rather be entertained and enjoy self-expression in the form of service to others. The Twenty-Four is more likely to feel competent and capable in a situation in which they are familiar, and uncomfortable in other situations. They are sensitive to the feelings and needs of others and are prepared to adjust their behaviour within reason to suit a set of circumstances. Twelves are usually concerned as to how a social scene suits them and will not hesitate to change or influence it to suit their liking. As they are much more extroverted they reach out to a wider range of people without waiting for others to reach out to them. They find it easier to ask others for favours or assistance.

Twenty-Fours are often reluctant to make the first move or ask for favours. They would rather do things themselves or go without if they are not offered help.

An obvious difference in these personalities can be observed in the manner in which they express themselves through speech. The Twelve will be seen as the talker and reluctant listener and the Twenty-Four will be the patient listener and selective talker. Twelves possess an extensive command of words and phrases, usually delivered with a ring of authority. They believe that what they have to say is important and that others should pay heed. They could vary their manner of speech and body language to suit different situations. Twenty-Fours use their vocabulary carefully maintaining a strict rationalist position without seeking to impose their views on others. They are, however, much more persistent and adamant in general. They usually have a fixed pattern of speech and points of view with the ability to remain silent at the right time. As they lack the flexibility of the Twelve they may often resort to common clichés which may not always convey what they wish to say. They do not indulge in or generate humour as much as the Twelve, and rather sit back and enjoy the humour introduced by others. Basically the Twelve is a cheerful and imaginative conversationalist while the Twenty-Four emerges in conversation as an adviser, instructor and teacher who is more interested in conveying practical and realistic facts than engaging in light entertainment. The Twelve is certainly not without practical and rationalistic thoughts but the combination of light-hearted and serious speech distinguishes them from the Twenty-Four. In a social scene or in private life the Twenty-Four is unlikely to challenge the Twelve’s greater urge for oral expression unless the Twelve resorts to unrealistic or unprofitable ideas. In such instances the Twenty-Four will interrupt with down-to-earth contributions.

Hobbies and avocations taken up by these partners, while reflecting their different temperaments, will be fulfilling as well as profitable individually and collectively. Although they are not without practical skills the Twelve is likely to be attracted to mentally oriented pastimes such as music, drama, literature as well as sporting activities that do not expose them to much body contact. Twenty-Fours, on the other hand, prefer to combine mental creativity with physical creativity. While maintaining appreciation for the fine arts they derive greater satisfaction in the use of their hands by converting their own ideas, as well as the ideas of others, into physical form. They are natural handypersons who will willingly undertake a greater share of home maintenance and improvements. They are also community oriented people who do not hesitate to volunteer their services for community needs. The Twelve is more likely to spend their time in personal interests, but could also be influenced by their Twenty-Four partners to fall into community projects. All Twenty-Fours have an above average fondness for food. Cooking will automatically become one of their special pastimes. Twelve partners may not have the patience to spend too much time in the kitchen, but when they do so, they usually favour specialised dishes and decorative cooking. Twenty-Fours are home-oriented non-travellers while Twelves have no objection to periodic trips around the country. Both partners can use their avocations to supplement their regular income.

The Twenty-Four will, without a doubt, play the major role in administering the partnership’s finances. The Twelve is neither disinterested nor incapable of doing so, but the Twenty-Four’s greater desire to handle this aspect of their affairs and their precautionary habits will eventually see the Twelve concede this responsibility, at least in day-to-day matters. Twelves are likely to initiate and be involved in major expenditure although not without careful censorship by the Twenty-Four. The Twelve’s spending habits are usually more liberal than those of the Twenty-Four who is a much more discriminating spender. Twelves spend more on personal adornment and the latest fashions while Twenty-Fours go for simplicity and durability. Saving and investment will be the special preserve of the Twenty-Four who may even maintain a savings account or nest egg unbeknown to the Twelve. This will be done not for selfish reasons, but purely for meeting emergencies.

By and large, a good deal of emotional tranquillity can be established in this relationship, particularly at the insistence of the peace loving Twenty-Four. The Twenty-Four’s occasional lapse into pessimism or despondency will be helped by the positivity and optimism of the Twelve. The nature of the Twenty-Four, at the same time, is such that they are able to accept, within reason, certain unalterable conditions they may have to live with, whereas Twelves are more inclined to resist them. The Twenty-Four’s way of life is regulated to a much greater degree by conventional thinking and the established order of society. A problem with many Twenty-Fours is that they get caught up with too much reason and analysis, and then lose touch with romance and light-hearted living. Twelves can combine serious living with romance and light-hearted living. This relationship will blossom through the energy and initiative of the Twelve and the patience, tolerance, practicality and devotion to duty of the Twenty-Four.

12TH AND 25TH BIRTHDAYS

Both birthdays create multi-talented personalities with several outlets through which nature’s abundant gifts can be exploited. The inevitable quandary resulting from this type of combination is the reluctance of these partners to follow or consult each other, as both are self-sufficient individuals able to rely on their own capabilities. Vibrations symbolised by odd numbers control both personalities. The problem they are faced with is that while even numbers favour blending, odds favour individuality and competition. On the one hand, this combination can turn out to be one in which both partners strive to overcome individualistic and competitive urges and combine their talents to live life to the full. On the other hand, they could be constantly at loggerheads. The outcome may depend largely on the degree in which they have either benefited from a genteel family background or been disadvantaged by a neglected upbringing. In any event, both personalities do possess an innate wisdom to eventually see that their blending will create greater solidarity and productivity than would individual effort. The connecting link in this combination that can assist in cooperation is the 2 vibration which calls for peace, reconciliation, companionship, sharing and other gentle features that are conducive to togetherness.

Both individuals are soon cramped by narrow circumstances, and forced interaction with commonplace and insular minded mentalities. Fortunately, there isn’t the slightest chance of these conditions arising within their relationship. On the contrary, their interaction will serve to widen already extensive horizons.

As Twelves are basically Three personalities (1 + 2 = 3), opportunities for self-expression are open in the physical (1), emotional (2) and mental planes (3). Their most prominent feature is a forceful ego introduced by the 1 vibration which provides the impetus for self-promotion, self-reliance and other self-centred attributes. Independent thought and action, inventiveness, concentration, persistence and acquisition are other natural features. Sharing or joint ventures are not instinctive qualities of the 1 vibration. The 3 vibration is rather similar in this respect. Independent self-expression is a basic 3 quality as it is in the 1. The 3, however, is a youthful force, and following its youthful nature, introduces the need for admiration and applause, and the desire of its subjects to occupy the centre of attention. In this respect there is a dependence on others which the 1 aspect does not have. As individuality is reinforced by the blending of the 1 and 3 vibrations the Twelve personality’s reluctance to share or partake on a mutually consenting basis can be understood. As the 2 aspect of the Twelve represents opposite characteristics, and as it will not be forceful enough to counteract the joint forces of the 1 and 3, a genuine effort has to be made by the Twelve to listen to a partner’s needs and points of view. The 2 aspect will receive some help from the 3 as, despite its many similarities to the 1, it has certain common features with the 2, such as courtesy, cultivated speech and the absence of aggression and acquisitiveness. An attitude of ‘Yours’ and ‘Mine’ can gradually be changed into one of ‘Ours’.

If the Twelve is seen as having a rather complex personality structure, the Twenty-Five will be revealed as a much more involved personality. Despite the Twelve’s abundance and variety of personality traits their reactions outwardly and inwardly to life’s events are generally predictable – a condition which facilitates accord within a relationship. This is not always the position with a Twenty-Five. While the three vibrations forming the integral personality of the Twelve are complementary rather than contradictory, those forming the Twenty-Five have strong contradictory elements which account for the degree of unpredictability within the personality. Many of their features are not readily known to a casual observer or acquaintance. They are basically Seven personalities (2 + 5 = 7) qualified by the qualities of the 2 and 5 vibrations. While the 7 introduces reserved, aloof, and almost introverted features, there is an extroverted force in the 5 which demands free and frequent expression on the physical, emotional and mental planes. Tranquillity, peace and the need for privacy are special features of the 7, but restlessness, change, impulsive action and openness are natural features of the 5. The 7 helps its subjects remain content with their own company and absorbed in exclusive activities while the 5 seeks variety and frequent change of scene which invariably includes interaction with all sorts of people. Eventually the 7 aspect prevails. The 2 aspect acts as an ambivalent force. On the one hand, it needs movement, company and support while giving as much as it receives. This aspect favours the 5. On the other hand, it demands a harmonious atmosphere free from noise, tension and turmoil. This aspect favours the 7. The mentality of the Twenty-Five may be described as old, yet new. Extroverted as well as introverted.

Although attributes of leadership and quick decision are expressed spontaneously in the Twelve any attempts to assume a controlling role in this relationship will not succeed. Twenty-Fives do not show interest in assuming a dominant role nor do they submit to a subservient one. Freedom to exercise their skills is what they expect. If such freedom is denied them unexpected inner resources emerge to resist any form of arbitrary authority. At the same time they could be manipulative though not dominant. As loss of independence will not be tolerated by either partner. A relationship of equals is their only option. It may be said that while the Twelve favours control over people the Twenty-Five takes control over circumstances. While the Twelve’s ego likes to be flattered from time to time the Twenty-Five’s ego remains self-sufficient and often inaccessible. A factor that may distinguish the Twenty-Five from the Twelve is an underlying element of spirituality which comes to the fore every so often without conscious effort. This is not absent in a Twelve but is in many cases obscured by a stronger attraction to physical and mental pleasures.

A domestic way of life is not a compelling need in either partner. Their attraction to careers in public life will leave them little time for domestic duties. The burden of such work has to be shared equally as neither will be prepared to take on more than the other. The Twenty-Five will, however, treasure their home and garden as a retreat from the hustle and bustle of public life – a need that is not as urgent in a Twelve.

While the sociability of the Twelve remains constant and predictable, that of the Twenty-Five cannot be taken for granted. The 7 aspect pulls the Twenty-Five from time to time away from social intercourse into solitary pastimes. It is during these periods of withdrawal that they take to their gardens, books, music, fishing, bushwalking and other activities that do not call for interaction with people. Their 5 aspect, although an extroverted force, is directed more towards activity than interaction with people. The 2 aspect responds either way. Qualities such as curiosity, awareness, knowledge and aloofness are projected by the Twenty-Five and account for a degree of inscrutability in this personality. Sociability in the Twelve is derived from the combination of the 2 and 3 vibrations and supported by the 1. They carry about them an atmosphere of youthfulness, good humour and optimism which contribute largely to their social popularity. People respond to the Twelve as they would to an entertainer and to a Twenty-Five as they would to an instructor. In their different ways both are seldom far from the centre of attention. While the Twelve is rarely a social rebel, the actions of a Twenty-Five may not be as regulated by conventional thinking and behaviour. They do not seek popular applause or social recognition as much as a Twelve. Twelves, however, are much more likely to develop lasting friendships at a more frequent rate than a Twenty Five.

The Twelve does not hesitate to make maximum use of the gift of speech. Despite the fact that their conversation is often centred on their own affairs they emerge as light-hearted, jovial and imaginative talkers. Twenty-Fives are much more objective in their choice of topics. Unlike a Twelve much of their conversation is confined to practical or profound topics avoiding ordinary chit-chat or personal affairs. It is much easier for a Twenty-Five to resort to periods of silence. They are also adept at using restrained but very effective body language to convey any thoughts and feelings they do not wish to verbalise or have difficulty articulating. Periods of silence in which a Twenty-Five will indulge should not be misunderstood by the Twelve as moodiness. Twelves do not resort to as much body language, because they possess a greater fluency of speech and a much keener urge for verbal expression. Communication by touch between these partners will be kept at a minimum. The desire to convey their feelings by this means is often thwarted by an equal disinclination to do so.

As these are individuals with independent thought and action they will automatically take control over their private lives and engage in a variety of pastimes during their non-working time. Intellectual rapport will ensure that interests they develop in common will exceed any that may divide them. While the physical, emotional and mental elements are easily balanced in the Twelve the spiritual element, as mentioned earlier, is an additional force active or prominent in the Twenty-Five and underlies their thoughts and actions. It gives them the ability to tune into their intuitive side without much effort. While Twelves with a keen artistic touch are able to appreciate and create beauty in their surroundings they are, by comparison with a Twenty-Five, less sensitive to non-physical aspects of life. They are by no means devoid of an intuitive side, but this may be obscured by physical and intellectual activity. They usually fall into the category of people whose strong egos avoid enquiry into inner realities because such pursuits usually involve temporarily putting aside ego-consciousness. The Twelve is essential a creator and the Twenty-Five is an investigator. In short, while man-made creations attract the Twelve, nature’s creations attract the Twenty-Five. The very nature of the Twenty-Five urges them to probe into things deeper and further than most.

These are not types that would struggle to earn a living. Both are capable of contributing income from more than one source. They are generous spenders but not to the extent of extravagance. There is an inbuilt precautionary component in each that cries halt to excessive or impulsive spending. In most relationships one partner usually takes up the responsibility of money management, but in this partnership it is not easy to say who will choose to do so. It is more likely that each will retain access to a portion of their income for independent spending while the disposal of the larger portion is done by mutual consent. This should not be difficult as selfishness, distrust and greed are not negative qualities suffered by either. Money would not be placed before personal dignity and self-esteem or allowed to interfere with harmony in their relationship.

Happiness or unhappiness depend on the way we meet events in life rather than the nature of the events themselves. Both these partners face life’s vicissitudes with a positive attitude and a spirit of adventure. Consequently, in the course of their association they will extract a good deal out of life. Their positive auras will attract thought waves and reactions from others that are in harmony with their own. Affection for each other will not depend upon agreement at all times and in all things. In fact differences of opinion should keep their relationship vibrant and challenging.

12TH AND 26TH BIRTHDAYS

The interesting features in this combination of birthdays is, on the one hand, the connecting link of the number 2 which creates an empathy between Twelve and Twenty-Six personalities, and on the other hand, there are other elements within their personality structures that are subject to the law of attraction of opposites. Both conditions contribute generously to the formation of a compatible and successful relationship, in which love and loyalty are the most prominent features.

The Twelve is motivated for the most part by energetic and active forces with a smaller component of receptive and placid features. The Twenty-Six is formed by receptive and accommodating forces along with a liberal quantity of resolution, analysis and stability. An optimistic and positive self-image and an essentially youthful attitude will be demonstrated by the Twelve while a rational, systematic and worldly-wise approach to life will be seen in the Twenty-Six. Consciousness of self is a much stronger feature in the Twelve along with the need for attention and admiration. Self-consciousness and the need for approval, by comparison, are much less in the Twenty-Six. While Twelves may be positive and emphatic they are at the same time fond of being cared for. While Twenty-Sixes are neither self-assertive nor competitive they are self-sufficient in regard to their personal needs, physically and psychologically. They would rather care for than be cared for.

All Twelves are multi-talented people with avenues for self-expression within the physical, emotional and mental planes. They are basically a 3 personality (1 + 2 = 3) and the 1, 2 and 3 vibrations that form their personality structure complement each other making their temperaments well integrated. These individuals do not suffer from contrary traits that may pull them in different directions. Acting as a unified and self-directed unit all Twelves possess the power to complete any undertaking despite opportunities or temptations to enter into other ventures. Vibratory forces from the birth month and birth year which add to the overall personality structure extend their versatility. The energetic and ambitious part of the Twelve arises from the 1 and 3 vibrations and is much more self-assertive than the gentle 2 aspect. Nevertheless the 2 aspect does exercise a moderating influence over tendencies towards individualistic and noncooperative attitudes inherent in the 1 and 3.

The three vibrations forming the Twenty-Six personality are all receptive forces. Giving and serving rather than receiving and being served are natural tendencies. Cooperation, non-competition, sociability, companionship, guardianship, parenting and domesticity are special features of the 2 and 6 vibrations. As the Twenty-Six is basically an Eight personality (2 + 6 = 8) the character of this vibration operates in the background of the personality. Many 8 features complement the 6 aspect, such as system, organisation and rationality. The 8 is also an ambitious and competitive force – features that are not usual in other receptive vibrations. Individuals with strong 6 and 8 features are drawn into public life as administrators or teachers, also into law and any form of business dealing with accommodation or household products. A Twenty-Six is therefore capable of undertaking the combined role of wage earner, parent and homemaker. Although they may suffer some anxiety in performing this dual role and reconciling their ambitions in both directions, they do possess the capacity to wisely apportion their time and energy so that both responsibilities are handled successfully.

Most Twelves are fond of having their own way. When they want something they go after it by taking a direct route. They are seldom hesitant in informing others of their needs or desires. With undisputed qualities of leadership and decision making this partner will attempt to assume an authoritative position, but success will be very limited with a Twenty-Six partner. The Twelve will not easily counter the practical, realistic and methodical habits of the Twenty-Six or their reasoning skills. While Twelves choose to run their own lives as well as lead others, the Twenty-Six prefers to organise their own lives and help in the organisation of the lives of people they are responsible for. They do not like being ordered about, although they are always willing to lend a helping hand. They achieve their wants by pursuing an orderly and well planned course of action.

There is a greater degree of flexibility in the Twelve which helps them adapt easily to changing circumstances without adverse reactions. Twenty-Sixes in general need a clearly defined field of operation and set out to establish such conditions. They do not adapt to change as easily as does a Twelve. This partner will certainly exercise more influence in day-to-day management of domestic affairs. They are not likely to be challenged by a Twelve for this position, not only due to the Twelve’s lack of an equal interest but also to the Twelve’s dedication to a career and other personal interests. Some Twenty-Sixes may be inclined to attach an undue importance to household duties, especially those born in the 6th month. House, home and family with these people could become the sole source of happiness, or unhappiness if they are prevented from having their way. As both partners are extroverted individuals a happy social life can be enjoyed together. The nature of the Twelve’s extroversion is usually more emphatic and spontaneous while that of the Twenty Six is composed and controlled. Most Twelves enjoy making an impact on an audience and taking a prominent role in any social gathering. The Twenty-Six will choose an active but less prominent role. They are moved by a greater desire to observe the drama of life without necessarily becoming actors in the scene. Different sets of social values, greater or lesser desire for interaction with people or competition for the centre of attention are problems that will not cause friction between these partners. There is ample room for both to accommodate themselves in the same social scene, thus forming a productive and popular team. They are unlikely to burden themselves with distasteful company. As positive and no-nonsense people they choose and attract company of the same temperament. Social interaction will be a matter of quality rather than of quantity. Twelves are essentially modern and experimental while Twenty-Sixes are somewhat conservative. Despite these differences both strive to live up to society’s expectations, and a good sense of humour inherent in both will always remain an occupational and social advantage. Twelves shine as entertainers and Twenty-Sixes stand out as listeners and friends when in need. They will readily shelve their own troubles in order to listen to others and help when possible.

The extent of emotional and sentimental expression is almost equal in both partners. Consequently, the ability to talk things over in a rational and analytical manner and maintain a distinction between what is logical and objective and what is emotional and subjective is present in both. The position may vary if the Twenty-Six happens to be born in the 2nd, 5th, or 8th month. In these individuals emotion will have a greater control over the personality.

Oral expression of a Twelve is brisk and decisive. The Twenty-Six seldom uses an authoritative tone, instead speaking out with a voice that captures attention and invites few objections or challenges from others, while the speech of the Twelve is generally optimistic, and may include a touch of satire when the mood hits them. That of the Twenty-Six has a tone of seriousness and the authority of a teacher, adviser or instructor. Twelves may be precipitate in their judgments or opinions but Twenty-Sixes prefer to defer them until they are acquainted with as many facts as they can obtain. They possess a greater capacity to see more sides to an issue. Twelves may not be able to endure for long any conversation in which they or their affairs are excluded, but the Twenty-Six does not usually feel the need to introduce their personal affairs unless invited to do so.

The ability to sever themselves from public and domestic responsibilities and enjoy recreational activities comes easier to the Twelve than to the Twenty-Six. As they are not strictly mercenary or materialistic in their outlook most Twelves, given a choice, usually participate in sport as amateurs. Self-confidence and natural talent invariably place them as winners and rarely as losers. They are also found among creative artists. Many make a name for themselves as painters, writers and musicians. With a flair for fashion they insist on keeping up with the latest trends in dress and deportment while making their own contribution as designers and promoters. Twenty-Sixes are too often work-oriented people. They can easily become attached to public responsibilities or domestic duties at the expense of personal recreation. They are generally reluctant travellers who rather choose home based hobbies and local community activity. The Twenty-Six will willingly associate with their Twelve partners in all the fine arts. In addition their talents will extend into culinary art. The Twenty-Six’s interest in cooking will merely add to their domestic attachment. While Twelves are usually satisfied with mental, emotional and physical enjoyment of their hobbies the Twenty-Six looks for some tangible reward for their time and labour. To a greater or lesser degree one uses the gift of imagination and the other the gift of practicality.

The capacity to earn money is as good in both partners, but the ability and the need to handle and manage finances judiciously would be keener in the Twenty-Six. While Twelves are always willing to make bold moves in investment Twenty-Sixes would need to give careful consideration before acting. When things go wrong Twelves are likely to blame others but Twenty-Sixes would usually blame themselves. The Twelve’s personal expenditure will, for the most part, be higher than that of the Twenty-Six. They expect to have their wants fulfilled as they arise but their partners are less demanding and willing to set priorities. The Twenty-Six is likely to take over the management of their finances without opposition from the Twelve, provided the Twelve is allowed a fair portion for independent spending.

Positive or negative self-expression could often be tied up with the nature of one’s environment. The removal of factors that stand in the way of positivity is often left to the capacity of the individual. A Twelve will find it easier to do so while a Twenty-Six, who may at times be inclined to self-doubt despite their maturity, may need some injection of optimism into their outlook. This will be automatically provided by the Twelve partner. The Twenty-Six should take care of being too self-analytical and strive to emulate some of the spontaneity of the Twelve. At the same time the steadfast and resolute ways of the Twenty-Six will influence and control any precipitate actions of the Twelve.

12TH AND 27TH BIRTHDAYS

The number 2 present in both the 12th and 27th birthdays is an indication of a degree of affinity between individuals born on these days. However, despite the presence of this connecting link, dissimilarities in the nature of the outer forces within these days outnumber similarities. Yet, these differences are such that they do not give rise to disharmony in a relationship between Twelve and Twenty-Seven partners. The vibrations or personality traits that will intermingle are neither aggressive nor recalcitrant forces. They can be guided into a mutual exchange of natural gifts and not directed into power struggles or competition.

Unrestricted expression of natural potential on the physical, emotional and mental planes is not provided by all birthdays. Some may give access to all, but others concentrate on one or two with restricted or limited access to others. The 12th day provides free access to all three. The freedom to enter the spiritual plane is also present, as it is in all birthdays. The 27th day provides unhindered access to all four planes with the spiritual plane having a significant influence upon the personality. Herein lies the main difference between the Twelve and the Twenty-Seven. While interest in the spiritual plane has to be evoked in the Twelve it is a spontaneous feature in the Twenty-Seven. Another fundamental difference between these personalities that needs to be understood by both is the ego consciousness of the Twelve and the subdued and expanded ego of the Twenty-Seven. In other words the I’ andMy’ consciousness of the one and the Us’ andThey’ consciousness of the other. The subjectivity of the Twelve creates an emphasis on personal gain and the objectivity of the Twenty-Seven, while not excluding personal needs, includes humanitarian interests.

The 1, 2 and 3 vibrations that form the substance of the Twelve personality are naturally ego-centred forces which demand self-satisfaction before other considerations (1 + 2 = 3). The 1 and 3 provide motivation to go out and get what they want and the 2, the urge to gather and look after what they have acquired, whether material or otherwise. Despite such apparently self-centred traits the Twelve is not selfish, ungenerous or grasping by nature. A mild reminder is all they need to display generosity. The fact that they are naturally geared by nature to think of themselves first creates their individualistic ways. Their temperament generates a greater desire than most for personal achievement and acknowledgement of their achievements by others. With a flair for forthright action, quick decision and self-confidence, success in all their ventures seldom eludes them. Confident of their own judgments (and such confidence is usually justified) they do not take kindly to advice or contrary opinions. They expect a leading role in whatever activity they undertake, and if this is denied them they soon lose enthusiasm and look into other avenues of activity.

The Twenty-Seven is a complex and rather perplexing mixture of the 2, 7 and 9 vibrations. There are many powerful elements that unify this personality as well as others that create differences, and even a degree of conflict. They are basically Nine personalities (2 + 7 = 9), but 9 characteristics are not always in harmony with the 2 and 7. Between the 2 and 7 also there are certain features in common but others of a contrasting nature. The 9 introduces an impersonal, worldwide and active humanitarian mentality. It is a liberated and extroverted force which in human application creates the giver and server rather than the go-getter and receiver. The 2 is a sensitive and self-conscious force representing in human terms the gatherer. Its nature is to look after and be looked after. Giving and receiving includes not merely material things but also understanding, compassion, service, protection and love. The 7 aspect which exercises a powerful influence upon the integral personality is inclined more towards the 9 in many respects. It is largely an impersonal and self-sufficient force that does not demand much attention from others. Its influence, at the same time, differs fundamentally from the 9 as it is for the most part an introverted, retiring and reserved vibration. Such features create a distaste for indiscriminate public activity and a corresponding urge for privacy and silence. Along with these contrasting elements there is a unifying force which enhances the fascinating nature of the Twenty-Seven. All three vibrations that form the personality are sensitive to and irresistibly drawn to the non-physical aspects of life. While Twenty-Sevens may be immersed in the practicalities of life they are, depending on age and environmental conditioning, seldom separated from an awareness of mystical elements underlying all manifestation. A Twelve partner with a relatively uncomplicated personality is confronted with a partner with considerable depth of personality. A Twenty-Seven will have less difficulty understanding the Twelve, but the reverse may take some time. Absence of a real desire to do so may be the main problem with the Twelve. However, the Twelve will always be attracted to and held by the aura of mystery about the Twenty-Seven, who in turn, will be uplifted by the optimism, vivacity and youthfulness of the Twelve.

The natural tendency of the Twelve to take charge of situations in which they find themselves still needs to be restrained in a partnership with a Twenty-Seven. These individuals do not show an interest in assuming a leadership role as their destiny is lead by example and precept rather than direct command. Both partners possess strong individualistic traits which can only be preserved by not attempting to crowd each other. Their intimate zones need to be understood and respected. This will not be difficult as neither will feel the need to impose their intimate thoughts on the other in circumstances outside strict privacy. The emotional content in each, although quite considerable, does not manifest much in outward demonstrations. Consequently, one would not be pressured by excessive demonstration by the other. An equal share of domestic responsibility will need to be agreed upon as neither will be prepared to perform more than the other. They are not domesticated people who can confine their lifestyle to home and close community activity. Both look towards involvement in public life in work as well as in recreation.

Almost all Twelves are socially oriented people. They are natural entertainers who not only create merriment and goodwill but also derive pleasure from the attention they receive in return. It is never a problem for a Twelve to occupy the centre of attention in any gathering. They are neither shy, sensitive nor silent in mixed company, or in the company of varied personality types. Their egos are much too strong and self-protected to be affected by the actions and reactions of others. With a natural tendency to concentrate on the present moment they are able to enjoy themselves without mental or sentimental distractions. Twenty-Sevens fall into a different class as regard social activity. While the 2 and 9 aspects of their personality complement the Twelve in this sphere of life, the influence of the 7 does not. Consequently, the integral personality of the Twenty-Seven cannot be placed in the same order as the Twelve in regard to sociability. This personality is not controlled as much by ego-consciousness and the need to have their egos nourished. They are sensitive to human presence and this sensitivity makes them intolerant of superficial mentalities and therefore selective of the company they keep. Most Twenty-Sevens would refuse to spare time for surface friendships. Periods of privacy are much more essential to their wellbeing than to a Twelve. Forced by circumstances into company not of their choosing they would remain distant from the conviviality around them. A large part of their attraction is not only an aura of mystery but also their availability in times of spiritual or psychological need. By and large, people are attracted to the Twelve for entertainment and to the Twenty-Seven for the guidance they offer in moral and spiritual matters.

Everyone carries around them the atmosphere of their own desires. Twelves, in the first instance, reveal the expectation to be listened to and to be given acknowledgement of their views on all subjects. Twenty-Sevens, on the other hand, capture the attention of an audience without any form of expectation. They may not attract as many listeners as does a Twelve, but those whom they do, are people of their own enquiring minds. They do not volunteer information, but rather speak usually on invitation. Most Twelves possess an extensive vocabulary, which can be used constructively as well as destructively. They express their opinions with confidence and without expectation of contradiction. They are usually impatient listeners as the urge to express their thoughts is too strong to resist. Despite this tendency, they are able to hold the attention of their listeners with their natural sense of humour, imagination, and optimistic views on life. Twenty-Sevens are not particularly vocal. They do not feel the same need to press their opinions on others. Yet, they are able to make a significant impact when they choose to speak out. Unlike the Twelve, they do not give away much about themselves, not only due to a certain distaste for doing so, but also their objective minds steer them away from personal affairs. With a voice that is seldom raised in authority or reproof they command attention through the element of mystery and general dignity of their personality. The extent to which these qualities are expressed will naturally depend on the individual’s education and family background. Communication between Twelves and Twenty-Sevens can be maintained on an even keel. Although the Twelve may be opinionated they are neither argumentative nor quarrelsome. Once they have given out their views they lose interest in further discussion. Differences of opinion are quickly forgotten as goodwill and friendship are more important to them than winning an argument. Twenty-Sevens, with their natural wisdom, are aware of the futility of argument. Consequently, discussions between these partners will be on a reasonable and refined level. They may often agree to disagree without a residual element of resentment.

As their choice of recreational activity will follow the natural bent of their personalities, there are bound to be periods of individual or separate activity. But such activity need not interfere with their basic unity. The Twelve’s interest will be divided between physical and mental activities. Natural skills will be revealed in all manner of sport as well as in the realms of art, music and literature. Twenty-Seven partners may not engage in the same amount of physical activity, although they will associate with the Twelve in their mental interests and even outdo them in this sphere due to fewer distractions emerging from the physical level. A separation of interest, at least during the early stages of their relationship, will be found in the Twenty-Seven’s attraction to the metaphysical aspects of life. While Twelves possess a powerful imagination Twenty-Sevens are gifted with inspiration, which is a gift received by letting go of ego. As Twenty-Sevens are able to do so with less difficulty the degree of inspiration emerges to a greater extent. There is a fundamental need in the Twenty-Seven to obtain respite from the material world by recourse to the spiritual. Twelves do not necessarily feel this need until the influence of a Twenty-Seven partner awakens an appreciation of its value. Though Twenty-Sevens participate in a number of activities they ensure that some time is left for themselves. They take great delight in scenes of natural beauty and tranquillity. Gardening will certainly be one of their private and cherished hobbies. They are also natural investigators. Research will be spread over physical as well as non-physical realms – for example, archaeology and mysticism. Intuitive knowledge of non-physical aspects of life is in fact present in the Twelve although not often displayed. The Twenty-Seven has evolved to a stage in which this knowledge is easily liberated while in the average Twelve its latency needs to be activated.

In general, the ability to reduce possessiveness is another trait most Twenty-Sevens acquire as they grow older. But this may remain latent in the Twelve. In the Twenty-Seven’s scale of values no possession, vocation or achievement can be as valued as being a whole human being. Possessiveness in the Twelve is due purely to their natural desire to enjoy the good things of life, and this makes them go out and get what they need. Having acquired their needs they are always prepared to share. This attitude is reflected in the manner in which they acquire and handle their finances. All Twelves possess the capacity to make money from more than one source. They also exhibit a tendency to spend money, particularly on luxury goods and on the latest fashions. Physical possession of anything is needed by the Twelve in order to enjoy it. Objective or detached enjoyment of a thing (which the Twenty-Seven is able to do) cannot be done by a Twelve. Twenty-Sevens maintain a responsible but detached attitude towards wealth. While acknowledging the need for money in mundane affairs they do not let the inadequacy of money or its excess alter the course they have set for themselves in their life path.

As mentioned earlier a necessary challenge to be met and overcome by these partners is the understanding and tolerance of the personal temperament of the Twelve and the largely impersonal nature of the Twenty-Seven. The love and loyalty of a Twelve will be concentrated on their partners. These qualities in the Twenty-Seven are as strong but are also extended beyond their partners and dependants. The Twelve may take some time to accept the Twenty-Seven’s humanitarian outlook, while the Twenty-Seven, in turn, will need to exercise tolerance of the Twelve’s strong sense of selfhood. Both are capable of making these adjustments and acknowledging each other’s individuality without surrendering much of their own. A Twenty-Seven, in particular, is capable of developing their own personality while at the same time helping others to do the same. A Twelve partner should not hesitate to draw upon the natural wisdom of a Twenty-Seven while continuing to contribute all their positive features towards the success of their relationship.

12TH AND 28TH BIRTHDAYS

All persons born on the 12th day are qualified Three personalities (1 + 2 = 3). Characteristics of the 3 vibration which operate at the foundation of the personality are enhanced and enriched by those of the 1 and 2. The advantage held by these individuals is the complementary nature of these vibratory forces. They blend without the least resistance to form a strong and well balanced integral personality structure. The Twelve, as this personality will be referred to, is a self-sufficient and self-confident individual who cannot be led, overruled or dominated. They are, at the same time, neither aggressive, dictatorial nor recalcitrant by nature. What they expect is freedom to release their natural talents such as decision, leadership, innovation and creativity without undue interference. When this expectation is met within a relationship the Twelve will prove to be a loyal, romantic and loving partner as well as one who is highly resourceful. In partnership with someone born on the 28th day the Twelve may not immediately receive all the freedom of action they hope for. The opportunity to run things their own way may not be available as many individualistic and leadership qualities they demonstrate are also found in the Twenty-Eight.

The Twenty-Eight personality is a qualified One, (2 + 8 = 10 =1). Characteristics of the 1 vibration such as the ability to stand on one’s own feet, to make one’s own decisions and to organise one’s own lifestyle are equally strong in the Twenty-Eight. Attempts to relegate these personalities to a secondary role, however nicely done, will be firmly rejected. In addition to the 1 vibration, the qualities of the 8 vibration which hold a firm grip on the integral personality do not take kindly to being told what should or should not be done. The natural consequence of independent and authoritative traits in both the Twelve and Twenty-Eight will be a clash between two strong wills. However, along with their self-willed qualities both possess the seeds of negotiation and compromise as well as the need for a prosperous, loyal and loving relationship. When these aspects of their personalities are evoked the potential for success cannot be doubted.

The Twelve’s outlook on life is essentially youthful, fearless, optimistic, enthusiastic, imaginative and ambitious. In general, the happiest person is one who thinks the happiest thoughts. This state of mind can be observed in most Twelves. They are also self-conscious and self-centred in their outlook as the main aspect of their youthfulness is the demand for attention. To use a common phrase ‘Number One’ comes first in their mode of thought. Yet, the Twelve is not a selfish and grasping individual. Once their needs are satisfied they can be most generous with their goods and services. Although their egos are strong they are not self-sufficient in the sense that they can get by without company. Interaction with people is essential to their wellbeing. If a Twelve is not paid sufficient attention in company they make it a point to have their presence felt. They cannot be assigned for long to restricted or subordinate positions which inhibit self-expression. The 1 and 3 aspects of their personality in particular are innovative forces constantly seeking avenues for implementation of new ideas. The 2 aspect is an adaptable and collaborative force which accommodates such ideas.

The fundamental desire of the Twenty-Eight is to lead a well organised life, and in doing so they tend to organise the lives of those within their sphere of influence. Rather similar qualities of leadership and authority created by the 1 and 3 vibrations in the Twelve are provided by the 8 and 1 in the Twenty-Eight. However, the 3 in the Twelve and the 8 in the Twenty-Eight introduce other features that are responsible for creating dissimilarities in their integral personality structure. It is the 3 aspect that introduces youthfulness in the Twelve and the 8 aspect that introduces maturity in the Twenty-Eight. The former promotes imagination and impetuosity, while the latter, deliberation and action along practical and constructive lines. Again, the former creates an optimistic view of the future while the latter creates mindfulness of the future. Willpower, competitiveness and ambition are prominent features in both. However, their use is more persistent and inflexible in the Twenty-Eight. The sense of self or ego-consciousness is not as strong in the Twenty-Eight. The Twelve may make decisions without feeling the need to consult a partner and unintentionally overlook a partner’s sentiments. Decisions made by the Twenty-Eight are tempered by the consciousness of their duty and obligations towards those in their care, whether in public or private life.

This is obviously not a relationship in which one partner assumes the role of leader in most aspects of life and the other remains content as the follower. A partnership of equals is their only option. Both know that they are capable of solving their own problems without reliance on the other, and in most instances they do so. However, this tendency should not be stretched too far as action following consultation will always be more successful than independent effort. The fact that they may occasionally disagree would lead to stimulation rather than a stalemate. As method and organisation are strong points of the Twenty-Eight they should resist the desire to organise the life of the Twelve. In turn, the Twelve should not initiate change into their lifestyle before considering the conservative habits of the Twenty-Eight. Twelves, for the most part, enjoy life on a day-to-day basis, combining work and play. Most Twenty-Eights, on the other hand, have their eyes set on the destination. Concentration on final achievement is more important than diversionary pleasures. The acquisitive instinct is stronger in the Twenty-Eight. The acquirement of power, material possessions and devotion to career or business may become the central object of their lives. In this partnership neither partner is likely to volunteer for household duties or outdoor tasks such as house and garden maintenance as these are not domesticated individuals. Exceptions will be found among those born in the 6th or 7th months. The 6 creates an attraction to home duties and the 7 to the garden.

The social life of these partners will not be disrupted by any significant differences in their needs and preferences. The Twelve has a stronger urge for social interaction and their friendly manner has a cheerful impact on any social gathering. With a knack of getting the best out of a social scene they are usually sought after for their good humour and conviviality. They are also able to keep their business and social lives in separate spheres. Twenty-Eights may not display the same degree of sparkle, nor would many Twenty-Eights successfully separate their business associates with others unconnected with their working life. They tend to evaluate persons and situations slowly and carefully. They are often too busy to indulge in close friendships and many could expose themselves to the danger of becoming too absorbed in their public affairs at the expense of friendships and even family togetherness. They may cultivate fewer close friendships but these will be based on a foundation of loyalty and mutual respect. They become known for the sound advice and practical help readily given to those who approach them.

The conversational skills of these partners are similar to their social attributes. Twelves are imaginative and versatile conversationalists. A shortage of topics or a struggle for words is seldom a problem. However, some may be inclined to dominate conversation with their personal affairs. Twenty-Eights are selective conversationalists and not as subjective as the Twelve. They may enthusiastically converse on matters relating to public life in which they may have a connection, but not necessarily on personal matters. They are direct and matter-of-fact in speech avoiding flowery and ambiguous language. Concealed behind an authoritative facade is a great deal of emotion. Unlike the Twelve who is generally light-hearted and seldom agitated when challenged, Twenty-Eights react angrily or even aggressively if their authority is irrelevantly questioned. By and large, Twelves and Twenty-Eights are people who would rather agree to disagree than enter into protracted and unresolved arguments. However, such situations are not likely to arise too often as neither partner is likely to propose a course of action that is not beneficial to their partnership.

The competitive spirit, keen in both partners, will be reflected not only in public life but also in their recreational activities. A difference in emphasis may, however, be observed. Much more emotion and dedication will be injected by the Twenty-Eight into their sporting activities in addition to a determination to win at all costs. Demonstration of real dejection and frustration at their losses will be quite common. In addition, there is a commercial element in the Twenty-Eight which converts them into professionals at an early stage. In general, the act of participation and the social aspects of sport may be more relevant to the Twelve than always winning and making money out of their achievements. Many become champions through natural talent rather than sheer determination. As the mercenary aspect is much less, many Twelves choose to remain as amateurs for fame rather than profit. Sport will not be the only interest taken up by a Twelve, although this may be the case with many Twenty-Eights. The artistic, literary and musical aspects of life will exercise a strong pull on the Twelve. Twenty-Eights may continue their sporting interests as coaches, umpires and administrators long after their playing days are over. Their minds are geared to the scientific and practical aspects of any activity they undertake. Consequently, those Twenty-Eights who do not take to sport engage in hobbies of a practical, productive and profitable nature. They are good business people who apply their business acumen to their hobbies.

The one aspect of this partnership in which the Twenty-Eight may insist on taking a more decisive role will be in financial management. There should not be much resistance from the Twelve as long as they are allowed a fair amount of money for personal expenditure. Twelves are inclined to spend more on their needs and worry less about the future than is a Twenty-Eight. Although many Twenty-Eights may prove to be better managers of other peoples’ money than their own, they would still insist on greater control over larger transactions and investment in their relationships. The Twelve’s enterprise and the Twenty-Eight’s judgment, if combined, could ensure lasting prosperity. This can be done when the Twelve conforms a little to the Twenty-Eight’s deliberation and the Twenty-Eight, in turn, adapts a little to the Twelve’s optimism and eagerness for modernisation. Basically, Twelves measure life in terms of pleasant experiences and Twenty-Eights do so in terms of success and wealth.

A Twenty-Eight may not respond as promptly to the naturally romantic nature of the Twelve. Although their emotional nature is more extensive and sensitive it is held back by other forces or aspects of their personality which find emotional demonstration embarrassing or distasteful. Many Twenty-Eights hide a vulnerable sentimentality behind blunt and commonsense behaviour. This should not be misunderstood by the Twelve because Twenty-Eights are loyal and faithful partners. However, outbursts of anger may not be uncommon with many Twenty-Eights. In general, Twelves and Twenty-Eights will naturally maintain space between their togetherness. Another aspect of the Twenty-Eight which could lead to misunderstanding is their dedication to work at the expense of family togetherness. Despite this mode of conduct they are generously supportive of family and proud of the achievements of its members. Decisions of the heart often override those of the head despite their businesslike temperaments. Twenty-Eights have greater perception of the needs and problems of others and should therefore be mindful of the Twelve’s greater need for the friendship aspect of their relationship and its accompanying entertaining activities.

12TH AND 29TH BIRTHDAYS

A Twelve/Twenty-Nine combination is one in which a great deal of activity will be generated in almost all aspects of life, The physical, emotional, mental and spiritual realms can be entered into and functioned in with freedom of expression and competence. Although these personalities will enjoy a variety of features in common, variation in emphasis on each plane will certainly be evident. The Twelve is essentially of a youthful nature, and one in whom the desire to receive in the first instance is more prominent than the desire to give. The Twenty-Nine, on the other hand, has a greater degree of maturity insofar as the desire to give is stronger than the wish to receive. Giving and receiving in this context includes the need for personal attention, attachment or non-attachment to personal possessions and the willingness to be of service to others. While the vibrations forming the Twelve personality tend towards an ego-centred mentality which is usually concentrated on personal wants, those of the Twenty-Nine create impersonal attitudes and a wider universal outlook on life. Variations in the general conduct of Twelves and Twenty-Nines arise from these fundamental differences.

Most Twelves demonstrate better practical skills while many Twenty-Nines may not be as competent on the physical plane and may even show a measure of indifference to such skills. The emotional content in the Twenty-Nine is much more sensitive and extensive. However, their emotional nature is not as evenly balanced as that of the Twelve. Consequently, the outcome of their emotional reactions is displayed in highs and lows. They could also be quite impulsive in their actions. The best birth months for the Twenty-Nine are those with physical vibrations 1, 4, or 7 as these will exercise control over emotion and introduce more practicality and down-to-earth attitudes. Both partners, however, are very much alive, alert and functional on the mental plane. A powerful, creative imagination is the birthright of the Twelve while wisdom and intuition are natural gifts of the Twenty-Nine. The Twelve functions mostly from an even mixture of the qualities of the physical, emotional and mental planes. The Twenty-Nine’s attributes, on the other hand, are not as evenly proportioned. Not only is there an excess of emotion, which can be used in positive as well as negative ways, but the personality is also profoundly influenced by the qualities of the spiritual plane. These influences may manifest in various ways both consciously and unconsciously. The Twenty-Nine may be said to be predominantly a mixture of emotion, mind and spirit.

In general it will be found that the Twelve has to go out and get what they want but Twenty-Nines generally attract to themselves many of the good things of life. This is, in other words, the working of the law of cause and effect, and the law of attraction. As the Twenty-Nine is a natural giver they are compensated in equal measure. They are easily moved by the need to help anyone in distress either with material goods or with practical help and psychological counselling. Twelves are generous with their goods and services once they have satisfied their own needs and once they have been gently made aware of their obligations. If a choice has to be made for a decision maker and popular leader, in almost all circumstances a Twelve personality will stand out among the foremost. If a choice has to be made for a free spirit with no desire to either take control or be led, the Twenty-Nine will be a leading candidate. The Twelve’s natural tendency to take control by using direct as well as subtle ways will naturally not succeed in a relationship with a Twenty-Nine either in public life or in an intimate relationship. Although Twenty-Nines are not leaders in a conventional sense they are unquestionably leaders by example. They occupy a unique position in life with their understanding ways and compassionate actions.

Both Twelves and Twenty-Nines are easily cramped by narrow circumstances and arbitrary restrictions placed on them. The Twenty-Nine, in particular, despite their generosity would revolt against any self-centred demands upon their time and resources by ego-centred individuals. For this relationship to flourish the Twelve will need to curb some of their ego-centred and demanding habits and allow themselves time to appreciate the underlying wisdom of the Twenty-Nine. They should not make decisions before finding out how their partner thinks and feels about a particular issue.

Many Twenty-Nines, in turn, may suffer from hesitancy, impetuosity and impracticality. Therefore, they should compromise and take advantage of the Twelve’s capacity to make quick decisions and give clear directions, particularly in situations that need immediate action.

A domestic way of life will not attract either of these personalities. Although both will readily accept a share of responsibility they will not be totally fulfilled in the role of homemaker. Public duties will be much more in line with their temperaments and skills than the cares, perplexities and responsibilities of domestic duties. The Twenty-Nine, in particular, needs to be in constant contact with all sorts of people and conditions of life despite the fact that such situations may cause much stress and emotional turmoil at times. There is an infectious vitality in the Twelve which cannot be confined to routine and timetables; so important to a stable domestic scene. To realise their highest possibilities both partners need to involve themselves in public activity. Decisions regarding domestic matters will need to be made by mutual consultation as one will not take kindly to arbitrary decisions made by the other. A Twelve is likely to overlook the need for mutual discussion more frequently than the Twenty-Nine will.

The partners’ need for interaction with people is not confined to their working life but is extended into their social life. Both are endowed with ample social graces and invariably sparkle in most social circles. While a Twelve may choose to move among a few intimates the Twenty-Nine will be involved in a more extended and cosmopolitan range of friends and acquaintances. A certain amount of competition for the limelight may take place when these partners are together in a normal social gathering. Twelves look forward to and enjoy popular applause and social recognition. Twenty-Nines do not give such indication of dependence on social popularity. They derive greater pleasure in giving of their goods and services without anticipating equal returns or the plaudits of society. As they are less concerned for their own needs they are also in a better position to take notice of other peoples’ needs and reactions and act according to the demands of a particular situation. Both partners are natural entertainers and, consequently, develop into generous hosts and hostesses.

The several similarities in the personality structure of these partners can be observed in oral expression and their communication skills. However, there will always be difference in the degree of expression depending on the nature of conversation topics. Twelves are usually more accurate and specific in what they say or relate, and less inclined to change their opinions once they have given them out. They could, however, be vague and disinterested in discussing anything pertaining to metaphysical matters. Twenty-Nines may unconsciously fail to attach much importance to accuracy or remain factual when telling of their experiences or giving their opinions. They would, however, hold firm and knowledgeable views on ethical and spiritual matters. Twelves may try to impose their views on others as well as their partners but Twenty-Nines may express their belief only when invited to do so. The Twelve’s general beliefs are usually confined to practical things that are explainable and demonstrable, but those of the Twenty-Nine extend into areas that are usually not demonstrable or settled in argument. Twenty-Nines, themselves, would not likely acquire their beliefs this way but rather through their own intuitive processes and experiences. Good humour is an attribute enjoyed by both. Twelves are often natural comics while Twenty-Nines are deeply appreciative of the funny side of life.

Hobbies and other recreational activities taken up by these partners are likely to reveal certain basic differences in their temperaments. In general, most Twelves relate to and enjoy physical and mental activity. Anything that calls for emotional demonstration such as acting the part of others in tragic circumstances is seldom undertaken. The metaphysical aspects of life with their many ramifications do not attract most Twelves unless a Destiny or Life Path is indicated by the numbers 7, 9, 11 or 22. The average Twelve is not without consciousness of the spiritual factor in life. It is their heavy involvement in practical, artistic and romantic aspects of life that consumes their days leaving little or no time for entering into the reflective and receptive states; so important for spiritual practices. Although they live comfortably among things they can see and touch without concern for abstract matters their artistic talents take them very close to the borders of mystical life. Twenty-Nines on the other hand are naturally propelled towards contemplation, study and practice of the metaphysical and mystical aspects of life because the strong spiritual influence of the master number 11 will operate with regularity (2 + 9 = 11). Much of their spare time will be devoted to this end in private as well as in group activity. While Twelves may not willingly associate with them in meditative and other contemplative practices the Twenty-Nine will find time and interest in all the artistic activities that also attract the Twelve. Both partners are sensitively organised, although the Twelve’s sensitivity for beauty, colour and form is usually confined to the physical realm while that of the Twenty-Nine extends from the physical into the non-physical. Spirituality is innate in everyone although it manifests only to the degree we are able to respond or keep ourselves open to its impulses. Twenty-Nines are naturally more receptive to these subtle impulses from their surroundings and from within themselves. Indeed, ethical and spiritual values along with physical pleasures are central to their wellbeing. Many Twenty-Nines will involve themselves in a voluntary capacity in good causes and other public movements beneficial to the community at large.

The earning capacity of these partners is quite extensive, but so are their spending habits. Both are capable of contributing to the partnership’s finances from more than one source of income. Although they are free spenders it is possible that on a relative basis the Twelve will show a little more concern for their financial security and may spend more thoughtfully than the Twenty-Nine, who may show much less concern for obtaining full value for money spent. They are not as discriminate in their purchases as a Twelve. Both partners need freedom to spend a fair portion of their income without having to account to each other for their actions. The Twenty-Nine is likely to display more thoughtfulness and generosity in their gifts to their partners and to their friends and relations.

This relationship will be a good blend of intellect and intuition. While both are subject to a rush of ideas the implementation of their ideas will often be left to the Twelve. At the same time, while Twelves are multi-talented and versatile in practical things, Twenty-Nines possess surprisingly strong inner resources which enable them to overcome any setbacks and are able to speedily rebuild their lives. Strong romantic sentiments are evident in both. The Twelve’s demonstration of love and devotion remains generally on an even keel, but the Twenty-Nine may exhibit fluctuations in the expression of their love. This difference is due to the evenly distributed emotions within the Twelve’s personality structure and an overflow of emotion in that of the Twenty-Nine. Twelves are much less likely to lose control of themselves in a highly charged emotional scene but Twenty-Nines may go off on a tangent with uncontrolled emotional demonstration. Differences in personal styles may not always keep them in complete harmony but, in general, dissention and unhappiness will not be features that will mar the happiness of their relationship.

12TH AND 30TH BIRTHDAYS

Please refer to the chapter on the 3rd and 12th birthdays. The Zero of the 30th day does not add or take away any features of the 3 vibration. In some instances, however, it may emphasise certain attributes of this vibration.

12TH AND 31ST BIRTHDAYS

The relationship between a person born on the 12th day and another born on the 31st day will be the same as that between a couple where one is born on the 12th and the other is born on the 13th. It should be noted that the influence of the 3 vibration is slightly stronger in the Thirty-One than in the Thirteen, as it appears first, but this does not make any appreciable difference in their interaction with a Twelve personality.

The chapter on 12th and 13th birthdays should be consulted.
