14TH AND 14TH BIRTHDAYS

A Fourteen/Fourteen relationship may appear as one between identical personality types. This will not be precisely the situation as the birth month will inevitably create differences as well as a significant impact on compatibility between such partners. In a coincidental instance of the birth month being the same other areas of influence such as the birth year, Destiny number, (the total of the whole birth date) and their names are certain to create dissimilarities. The chapters of this book are confined only to the birthday. Other areas of influence are not considered as this would make the exercise too complicated and unwieldy, if not impossible in the confines of a book. However, an exception has been made to mention the birth month when the birthdays are the same.

Before the birth month is considered it may be said that Fourteen personalities, apart from individual distinctions, are strong positive individuals with a robust orientation towards the physical aspects of life. The vibrations of the physical plane are their strongest motivating force. Fourteens are fundamentally Five personalities (1 + 4 = 5). The numbers 1 and 4 controlling the outer personality represent solid physical vibrations while the 5 vibration of the inner personality also exercises a powerful pull towards physical aspects of life. There is a magnetism about the 5 vibration which not only draws a subject towards the physical but also executes a firm hold on the emotional and mental planes. It is a many-sided force which could pull a Five personality born on the 5th day into different directions at the same time preventing the establishment of an orderly lifestyle. However, none of the disadvantageous features of the 5 vibration, such as restlessness, desire for change for change’s sake, impetuosity and unreliability will appear in a Fourteen who is only a qualified Five. The 1 and 4 forces neutralise all detrimental elements of the 5 vibration and draw out the best, such as versatility, flexibility, quick reflexes, alertness and physical courage.

The combination of the 1, 4 and 5 vibrations creates an individual who is physically strong, down-to-earth and multi-talented. Daring, extroversion, competitiveness, sensuality and leadership are some of their more obvious characteristics. They are activators and motivators who can display ruthless persistence when they set out to reach a desired goal. In doing so they are seldom deterred by the opinions of others or society’s conventions. There is, however, a curious mixture of conservatism and modernism in the thoughts and actions of the average Fourteen. Their 1 and 4 aspects are responsible for conservative action while the 5 aspect and occasionally the 1 join forces and influence the individual to break through and disregard conventions.

Fourteens born in the 1st, 4th, 7th, 8th, 10th, 11th, and 12th months could be quite rigid in their mode of thought. They may not willingly enter into equal partnerships based on a system of give and take, but rather expect to remain in authority with a firm hold on the decision making role. The position they assume will be acceptable and successful with a dependent personality type but not with this type of self-sufficient Fourteen. The 2nd and 5th months allow a degree of emotional release and flexibility in the expectations of a Fourteen. Those born in the 2nd month in particular are amenable to cooperative living. A Fourteen born in the 5th month will be difficult to control as some of the more unsettled features of the 5 vibration will have a firmer grip on the personality. Some of the stable qualities of the 1 and 4 may be upset as freedom of movement and freedom to change things will be more important than a settled lifestyle. Fourteens born in the 3rd, 6th, and 9th months combine features of the mental and physical planes. These are exceptionally resourceful individuals who insist on living life to the fullest. Those born in the 6th month are not quite the same as Fourteens born in the 3rd or 9th months. They will share a genuine interest and attachment to home and family above other considerations. They will get on well with a Fourteen born in the 4th or 7th months who are also home lovers. Those born in the 9th month will be the most open-minded, understanding and accessible of all Fourteens.

All Fourteens are work oriented people. They are usually attracted to the protective services such as the Armed Forces, Police, Fire Service, Prisons etc. due to a high sense of community consciousness, physical fitness and physical courage. They do not hesitate when there is a need to get their hands dirty or calloused in manual labour. They are gifted with strong hands and above average sensitivity in their fingertips, making them skilled artists or practitioners in anything that needs strength or delicacy of touch. Fourteen partners possess the capacity to undertake the dual role of homemaker and breadwinner. They are fond of material possessions, physical comforts, and good food and drink. They live life heartily and vigorously, although not without restraint when necessary. They are seldom disillusioned because they have few illusions. Their sensible and pragmatic 1 and 4 aspects prevent any impulsive or over-adventuresome 5 aspects from getting out of control. Their positive attitude is such that they can find something in almost any situation that can be shaped or used to their advantage. Their joint efforts can provide a home with all modern comforts much sooner than an average couple is able to do. Both are capable of efficiently undertaking any domestic task, and as they also resent interference, separate areas of responsibility should be agreed upon. Self-discipline can be exercised by both when needed. In their interaction with others they emerge as good disciplinarians, but in their interaction with each other the need should not arise because neither is likely to shirk responsibility or indulge in personal habits detrimental to themselves or the partnership. If one happens to fall into a bad habit, the determination and willpower to recover is always present. Although both are capable of independently solving problems this practice should not be taken too far. Friendly consultation will be an advantage not only in creating togetherness but in a mutual exchange of knowledge. They should not be too complacent of their capabilities but rather leave themselves open to the intake of new knowledge. However, a healthy scepticism will always be present as these are people who do not accept much on authority alone or on the say-so of others. Whether two such strong personalities will agree to a concerted effort to establish a happy relationship is problematic. However, if a Fourteen couple is able to settle down to a partnership of equals there can be no limits to success in all aspects of life.

Physical activity is much more important to all Fourteens than is social intercourse. They will be prepared to live with limited contact with people. Social interaction may only be a by-product of their physical activities. A Fourteen couple should have no problems in this respect. They are by no means introverted but their need for physical activity is due to their vitality on the one hand and restlessness when faced with confinement and inactivity on the other hand. They are not individuals who put up patiently with the emotional frailties of others or their general complaints about life. They do not conform to other people’s values or expose their actions to their approval or disapproval. They could be surprisingly conservative in their tastes but also indulge in some things that are quite unconventional. While they may not sparkle in a social scene they do not earn a reputation for unsociability. All Fourteens are regarded as most dependable and resourceful when help in any practical matter is requested of them. Although Fourteens may not be cheerful conversationalist their considerable practical knowledge, competitive spirit, flexibility and stubbornness gives them extra advantages in general discussions or argument. Not many people will challenge a Fourteen on most issues. When they do take command of a situation they give out their ideas with directness and without reserve.

All Fourteens pride themselves on their physical fitness, physical courage and good health. Their recreational activities include high risk sports, as elements of danger and chances of personal injury do not deter them. Although competition against others will not be excluded, challenges to their own prowess give them greater satisfaction. Enthusiasm is backed by determination and commonsense. They are also proud of their dexterity with their hands. Hobbies can be converted into money making ventures. The infectious vitality in all Fourteens attracts the admiration of their many followers. The paradoxical nature of the Fourteen is also evident during their holidays. On the one hand, they feel tied to many home based hobbies, and on the other hand they feel the need to get away into natural surroundings as far as possible from human activity. As the desires of a Fourteen couple do not conflict they can get along best during their free time and holiday destinations. The linking of their interests will always produce more advantages than individual activity alone.

Money matters should not be a source of contention as a Fourteen’s actions are governed by an economic and pragmatic mentality. They may be self-indulgent but most can afford to be so due to their high earning capacity. Sentiment does not cloud their financial decisions which are always made in terms of profit and loss. Financial acumen is a prominent quality as well as the need for financial stability. This is one area of life where risks will seldom be taken. The 5 aspect may at times be prepared to take a gamble, but the 1 and 4 will act as a safeguard and censor.

Although these are people who do not in any circumstances hand their individuality over to others and are not accustomed to explaining their actions, they can still combine to form a resourceful and happy partnership. An intensity of living can be followed in cooperation with each other. Loyalty is one of their strongest features. Their 5 aspect may at times be tempted to look around but the discipline of the 1 and 4 will once again check them from going too far. Curiosity to know life in all its phases which is the hallmark of the 5 vibration will be censored before they proceed in dangerous directions that could threaten the partnership. Many Fourteens will no doubt experience feelings of being pushed forward and pulled back all at the same time, with the pulling back succeeding eventually in this tug of war. Happiness and unhappiness depend more on the way we meet life’s events and use our talents than in the nature of the events themselves. All Fourteens are well equipped to master circumstances and use their talents to ensure success and happiness in their undertakings. An intimate relationship should not be an exception.

14TH AND 15TH BIRTHDAYS

These birthdays may follow one another but their proximity does not necessarily indicate kindred personality types. Indeed, many similarities along with dissimilarities exist within their integral personality structures. In the first instance, one is a qualified Five (1 + 4 = 5) and the other a qualified Six (1 + 5 = 6). Reference to the chapter on the 5th and 6th birthdays will reveal that pure Five and Six personalities are quite different from one another. The 5 vibration is a restless, impulsive, changeable, volatile and multi-formed force. The 6 is known for balance, uniformity, quietude, caution as well as qualities such as deliberation, analysis, logic and domesticity. These basic divisions will, however, not be as significant in a qualified Five and a qualified Six.

The 1 and 4 vibrations operating in the foreground of the Fourteen condition all 5 features. On the one hand, they control elements of the 5 that could be damaging to the individual and the individual’s relationship with others. On the other hand, they augment the innumerable positive 5 features to the best advantage of the personality. Qualities such as optimism, extroversion, flexibility, fearlessness, alertness and versatility are some outstanding 5 qualities. The 1 segment of the Fourteen contributes willpower, vitality, leadership, decision, creativity, self-worth and a strong ego. These features are not diminished but reinforced by their 4 and 5 aspects. The qualities of their 4 sector provide physical strength, practicality, determination and down-to-earth values. They in turn strengthen the rest of the personality rather than weaken it. The blending of the 1, 4 and 5 vibrations creates a self-confident and self-sufficient individual who will not settle for a subordinate or secondary role in any form of activity, particularly an intimate relationship. A clash of personality may seem unavoidable with a partner with an equally independent and strong disposition such as a Fifteen. However, this is not a situation that cannot be overcome by these partners.

The 1 and 5 vibrations operating in the outer personality of the Fifteen, which are vigorous and assertive forces, intensify many cautious and placid features of the underlying 6 vibration. Fear of financial insecurity and a reluctance to take any form of risk are some features of the 6 which will be overcome, as well as other features such as possessiveness of loved ones, jealousy, over-attachment to a domestic way of life and slowness in making decisions. The positive aspects of the 6 such as guardianship, parenthood, all positive aspects of domesticity and superior reasoning powers are reinforced by the 1 and 5. The 6 is also the vibration of love governed by the planet Venus. Love governs the life of all persons ruled by this number, either partially or fully. Although the individuality and self-confidence of the Fifteen matches that of the Fourteen the combination of a loving nature and clear reasoning powers creates a personality that is accessible and amenable to reason and cooperation. While a Fifteen may not submit to the arbitrary rule of another as independence and freedom of action are as important to them, they are quite prepared to enter into and nurture a partnership of equals.

It is the mixture of the vibrations within the Fourteen and Fifteen that creates two distinct personalities. These vibratory forces taken individually are not too different. The motivating force of the 1 vibration and all its positive features are active in both partners. While such 1 qualities as independence, authority, leadership and self-centredness may help the individual succeed in public life they are not always helpful in an intimate association that calls for a give and take attitude. Both partners share the 5 vibration. It does not really matter that this force is in the background of one and in the foreground of the other. It opens both individuals into a wider horizon of living. Their 4 and 6 aspects possess many features in common. These are receptive forces as opposed to the active 1 and 5. Attachment to home and an organised and orderly lifestyle are the most essential demands of these vibrations. Operating on their own they may not provide as much imagination, flexibility and motivating power for maximum use of their potential, but the influence of the 1 and 5 bring out the best in the 4 and 6.

One of the best features of this partnership is the ability of both partners to successfully undertake a dual role of breadwinner and homemaker. Family life is as important to them as success in public life. If both enter public life, as they are most likely to do, domestic responsibilities will be accepted as a mutual obligation. A high sense of duty, abundant mental and physical energy and resourcefulness will ensure fulfilment of their mutual desire for physical comforts, good food and general prosperity, in a balanced lifestyle. In general, couples may have their wants but not always the motive power to satisfy them. This will not be seen in a Fourteen/Fifteen union where ample motivating force and ingenuity will be evident. This is, for the most part, a relationship in which there will be no need to supplement that which is incomplete or lacking in one partner with assets or features that are abundant in the other. Consequently, separate areas of responsibility, with room for mutual consultation, can be safely allocated. This is desirable in order to avoid treading upon each other’s toes.

Fourteens are usually drawn towards various forms of physical activity and less towards social intercourse. Interaction with people may only be an extension of one or more forms of physical activity. Fifteens, who are more gregarious, possess an equal attraction towards physical activities and social intercourse. This is a minor difference in temperament which should not interfere with the social obligations of these partners. Both are extroverted personalities keenly aware of their surroundings and tuned to the vibrations of people around them. They are popular and relaxed while entertaining others and being entertained. Both experience somewhat similar problems in their relationship with others and even between themselves. On the one hand, they are content to let others be themselves and accept them for what they are, and on the other hand, they feel an urge to manipulate or turn them towards their ways of thinking and acting. The former tendency is due to the passive influence of the 4 and 6 vibrations and the latter urge to the assertive 1 and 5.

Both partners willingly make themselves available to neighbours and community groups when any form of practical aid is requested. As group leaders their dedication to any task they undertake will be admired and followed by others. With the ability to see things realistically people and situations are not perceived as threatening or as obstacles for approaching a task. Although the shared 5 vibration makes both partners versatile conversationalists the skills of the Fifteen may be more advanced as their 6 aspect adds other discriminating features. They are good listeners as well as good talkers. People approach a Fifteen for advice on personal problems more often than for help in practical matters. The Fifteen personality is a fine combination of abstract and concrete thought. They are counsellors and teachers able to provide impersonal instruction and guidance. By comparison, Fourteens are intermittent conversationalists. They are generally impatient listeners and when they do choose to speak they are inclined to concentrate on their own affairs. They are also more dogmatic in their views. They would rather offer practical help than attempt to sort out personal problems of others. On the occasions their 5 aspect is allowed full rein they could be quite talkative but this may not happen often as the more taciturn nature of the 1 and 4 have a stronger hold on the personality. Between themselves Fourteens and Fifteens possess an understanding that decreases the need for excessive speech in the form of suggestions, explanations, elaboration and argument. They are usually able to get on with a job or handle life’s events without frequent conference. Disagreements may not be frequent but when they occur both adopt a position of agreeing to disagree rather than continuing in a dissatisfied state. The Fifteen especially favours a speedy return to a state of equilibrium. However, both are too practical to maintain a division of a major quality that could be damaging to their relationship.

Hobbies and other recreational activities followed by the Fourteen will once again reveal their attachment and adaptation to the physical realm. Manual dexterity will be superior in this partner by virtue of the 4 vibration while mental analysis and appreciation of aesthetic and artistic matters will be added to the Fifteen along with practical aptitudes. In this respect these partners complement each other. The artistic talents of the Fourteen will be demonstrated in hobbies such as carpentry, sculpture, pottery or in any type of creative work demanding an unusual combination of strong hands and extraordinary sensitivity of fingertips. A mutual interest in good food will increase the time these partners spend together. The planning and preparation of a good meal can be done together or by turns. They will not confine themselves to home cooking as eating out will always remain one of their pleasant pastimes. All forms of competitive and non-competitive sport can be excelled in by both. With the daring qualities of the 5 vibration they tame up any challenge against rivals or against the forces of nature. Holidays will be spent together often in out-of-the-way places. As permanence and movement act together in both, little or no conflict can be expected. Self-time and shared time can be indulged in with mutual consent. Neither will be carried to an extent that will be damaging or burdensome, collectively or individually. Self-time will not give rise to feelings of isolation or neglect between these independent types. At the same time togetherness during shared time will always be productive not only in terms of material benefits but also in appreciating each other’s multiple assets. As long as they resist the temptation to challenge each other life will remain an adventure.

These partners have too many basic values in common to disagree on financial matters. As indicated earlier the operation of the 5 vibration in both creates a certain ambivalence in their general attributes. Money management will not be an exception. They may be drawn towards taking risks or spending freely and at the same time feel fearful of taking chances with their investments or over-spending in daily expenses. The latter urge will eventually surmount the former so that financial stability and security will be assured. A balance between generous spending on personal and family needs and saving and investment can be agreed upon by both. Although money management can be placed in the hands of either, both will end up having an equal say in saving and expenditure.

The vibrations forming these personalities create a certain amount of emotional complexity. A free flow of emotion, whether in positive or negative ways, is the nature of the 5 vibration. This is, however, checked by the emotionally unresponsive physical vibrations 1 and 4 and the emotionally reserved 6. The effect is only on a spontaneous display of emotion and physical contact such as touching as a means of communication, and not on the emotional content of each personality. In other words their emotional nature remains undemonstrative but not reduced. The advantage here is that both can delay action when emotionally disturbed. They will display their emotions and sentiments more in deeds than in outward show. As this is the situation with both partners the problem of an emotionally demonstrative partner expecting but not receiving response from the other does not arise. There is a mutual understanding between Fourteens and Fifteens of the depth of their love and loyalty.

14TH AND 16TH BIRTHDAYS

Either individually or in combination these birthdays create and bring into play a great variety of personality traits and skills along with the motivation and energy to use them. People born on these days are multi-formed personalities with characteristics of 3 vibratory forces operating simultaneously in each. Cultural and educational backgrounds will help significantly in reinforcing their capabilities. Despite the many vibrations that would intermingle in this combination it will be seen that similarities outnumber dissimilarities.

At the outset it can be stated with confidence that both individuals look upon life with a positive attitude. They are leaders and decision makers who are self-reliant, business-like and realistic in their valuations and resolutions. Their strong individuality may not always be compatible or ideal in an association which calls for cooperation and reciprocal activity. As the resources of both are more or less on par, albeit in different ways, one will not need to call upon the other to supplement features that may be weak or inadequate. Furthermore, neither will be willing to settle for a subordinate role. Although the automatic course taken by each will be to assume a leading role they would at a very early stage of their relationship realise that this cannot be sustained, and that their only alternative would be a partnership of equals. If this could be done amicably a partnership of substantial prosperity and stability can be established. All factors favour this eventuality as both are much too sensible to compete with one another ignoring each other’s natural skills. They are helped by two other advantageous features held in common. Both are capable of earning a good living and both take their domestic responsibilities seriously. A strong sense of guardianship and parenthood and a need for regularity and permanence in their lifestyle are other features held in common. It will be seen that the Sixteen has a stronger pull towards a non-competitive and relatively secluded domestic way of life without surrender of their potential for success in several aspects of public life. This attitude is due to the 6 and 7 aspects of their personality (1 + 6 = 7). The 6 vibration creates the genuine lover of home and family while the 7 creates a reserved personality who is not dependent on interaction with others for their general wellbeing. They are drawn to a quiet contemplative way of life in natural surroundings. As a Sixteen is only a qualified Seven the reclusive nature of the pure Seven will not be displayed. Their 6 aspect is a companionable and sociable force while their 1 aspect is a bold and assertive force which emerges when the need for such action arises. By and large, Sixteens are a self-controlled mixture of self-assurance, extroversion and reserve. They are not difficult to understand as they do not display personality problems that could confuse or disturb others. Without any hidden peculiarities that could upset others they are candid and unambiguous in declaring their expectations. A pragmatic Fourteen should have no difficulty understanding a Sixteen partner, nor will an intuitive and mindful Sixteen experience difficulty assessing a Fourteen personality.

The Fourteen is basically a Five personality (1 + 4 = 5). It is their 4 aspect that injects the desire for permanence and stability, conditions which can only be found in an established domestic scene. This vibration produces physically strong and indefatigable workers. Similar to the Sixteen, the Fourteen has opposite sectors within their integral personality, in this case created by the 4 and 5 vibrations. These counterbalance each other for the overall benefit of the individual and his or her relationship with others. While the influence of the 4 aspect demands regularity, orthodoxy, conservatism, deliberation and stability it provides the elements needed for these conditions such as endurance, efficient dedication, loyalty and self-discipline. The 5 aspect opens some of the restrictive or ‘stay put’ features of the 4 and strengthens those that are effective. The positive features of the 5 help the Fourteen cope with inevitable changes in life and gives them the capacity to make swift decisions when necessary and also to take calculated chances. Quick reflexes, physical courage and competitiveness are some other 5 qualities enjoyed by the Fourteen. Their 1 aspect provides the mental and physical energy, ego strength, a sense of direction and the self-confidence to make best use of the positive features of the 4 and 5. Stated in a different way, it leaves no room for negative elements of these vibrations to enter the personality. By and large, the Fourteen is also a straightforward individual who will respond to reason and down-to-earth values while instantly rejecting anything fanciful or unrealistic.

There is a difference between Fourteen and Sixteen personalities which may at times give rise to contrary views on some matters. The Fourteen stands much more firmly on the physical plane with earthly values. Their thoughts are geared towards creating and safeguarding material things that can be seen, touched and used. Abstract and contemplative thoughts are seldom indulged in unless other areas of their personality favour this practice. Although not entirely self-centred their attention is directed more towards self and family than outsiders. The Sixteen, on the other hand, is an even mixture of mental activity, spiritual awareness and physical attractions. The strong spiritual element in the Sixteen for which the 7 vibration is responsible, may cause a degree of misunderstanding between the Fourteen’s pragmatic and earthly ways and the Sixteen’s relative detachment from material possessions. Agnostics are much more likely to be found among Fourteens than among Sixteens. Sixteens are also more conscious of their obligations towards the welfare of others besides their own and are prepared to extend themselves into the community without damaging household and family care. They could easily influence their Fourteen partners to join them in community work.

Neither partner will be attracted to an excess of social activity. Regular interaction with people on a social level is not an essential duty for either, but this attitude is not necessarily for the same reasons. Fourteens prefer several forms of physical activity or hobbies of a productive nature with little time left for an involved social life. It will not be easy to draw them out of their creative pastimes in order to fulfil social obligations. They are by no means anti-social but much greater value is placed by them on time spent in their constructive activities. They would willingly participate in any social function that calls for work behind the scenes. In this background they gain their share of popularity for the practical contribution they are able to make at any event. Sixteens are of a studious nature. They place considerable value on personal time spent with books and music, and also as nature lovers in natural surroundings. Household duties and family responsibility also take up much of their time which is given quite ungrudgingly. Whatever time they have left is spent among selected friends, church and club activity. They are natural psychologists, counsellors and confidants. People with personal problems do not hesitate to approach a Sixteen for help and guidance and are seldom disappointed. Fourteens and Sixteens, whenever they choose to engage in any social activity form a useful and popular team.

Congruence of oral expression is another feature that helps considerably in establishing harmony in this relationship. Neither of the pair is an excessive, thoughtless or irrelevant talker. Both are rational and purposeful whenever they have something to say. A natural ability to assess quickly the advantages and disadvantages of an issue is responsible for an instant distaste for prolonged discussion. Intervals of silence are enjoyed by both. Arguments will be infrequent as neither partner is likely to come up with issues that should be disadvantageous to their mutual wellbeing. The 5 aspect of the Fourteen may be inclined towards challenge and argument but this will be held in check by the largely taciturn and compliant nature of the 4. Similarly, the 6 aspect of the Sixteen which is also inclined towards argument, especially in its negative aspect, will be restrained by the reserved nature of the 7 aspect of their personality.

Recreational activities followed by these partners will be complementary rather than contradictory. Self time can be enjoyed without harm to their relationship. Shared time can also be enjoyed as their personal interests are not so diverse as to keep them apart for too long. The Fourteen’s manual dexterity will be used in a variety of profitable hobbies. Repairs and general home maintenance will be carried out by this partner. They are also pulled towards the earth and its produce. A vegetable plot will be given more attention than a flower garden by these value conscious individuals. All forms of competitive sport including body contact sports can be an important part of their recreational activity. Most Fourteens will be healthy, physically strong, competitive and fearless individuals. Sixteens are generally non-competitive people. Their manual shills will be applied to hobbies of an artistic nature. Home decoration, landscaping, cooking, reading and gardening are some areas that will attract them. A flower garden will be more attractive to them than a vegetable garden. While Fourteens may concentrate more on profit, Sixteens gain greater satisfaction from beauty and colour, and from communing with nature. Music, literature and esoteric studies will also take up their time. Money matters should not give rise to disagreement or distrust. The temperaments of Fourteens and Sixteens are probably closest in this area of life. Both are responsible money managers. Any differences they may have will be minor or temporary and not cause any real problems. The combination of their skills will ensure financial prosperity. The generosity of the Fourteen may be confined to self and family while that of the Sixteen may be extended into the community, but as mentioned before, not at the expense of family welfare.

Outward demonstration of emotion will not be seen as a common feature. Although their emotional content is no less than normal an outlet for spontaneous emotional expression is either checked or not present. The Fourteen may be a fundamental Five personality but the spontaneous and impulsive nature of the 5 vibration is held in control by the undemonstrative nature of the 1 and 4. Fourteens born in the 2nd, 5th or 8th months may, however, be in a better position for controlled release of emotion. Sixteens also will depend on an emotional vibration in the birth month for some degree of emotional release. If this is not the case they will remain loving, devoted and loyal partners but mostly undemonstrative of their affection. Their devotion will be displayed by deeds rather than words or public shows of affection. The emotionally restrained nature of Fourteens and Sixteens acts as an advantage as neither of the pair is likely to create a scene privately or in public that could cause embarrassment.

14TH AND 17TH BIRTHDAYS

The multiple digits in each birthday are responsible for Fourteen and Seventeen personalities entering into a relationship with a considerable variety of personality traits and natural endowments. Some of these features may be agreeable and some will need recognition, acceptance and adjustment. Once the honeymoon period is over the latter experiences will be inevitable and the manner in which they handle them should draw out the best from both partners. These are strong-willed individuals who are not temperamentally suited for spontaneous cooperative work or cooperative living. Neither of the pair is conditioned to accept a subordinate role in an intimate relationship. It goes against the grain for them to surrender a natural urge to be in control of situations in which they find themselves, or to allow others to make decisions that relate to their personal welfare. Both are positive, self-sufficient and well able to stand on their own feet. Companionship and partnerships can only be formed on a strictly equalitarian basis. Their initial and major task will be to synchronise the diversity of natural talent as well as their expectations. This task should not be too difficult and most couples who succeed in doing so will form a relationship of material prosperity and, more importantly, one of mutual happiness. Both Fourteens and Seventeens are types who do not easily give up an undertaking or commitment when confronted with difficulties. Following their positive nature the question of facing and overcoming difficulties is much more a natural function than submitting to or avoiding them.

The Fourteen is a qualified Five personality (1 + 4 = 5). The 1 and 4 components of their integral personality structure safeguard some of the more risky features of the 5 vibration. A pure Five personality, that is one born on the 5th day, demands frequent change, variety, experimentation and too frequently an uncontrolled desire to experience life in all its facets. A keen sense of curiosity is one of their interesting characteristics that needs to be kept in control. These individuals are easily bored and will soon walk away from a routine or personally unacceptable situation rather than remain while improving conditions. For several reasons this is not an eventuality that will take place with a qualified Five born on the 14th day. The combined forces of the 1 and 4 vibrations are natural builders. They build on solid foundations, and whatever they fashion is constructed to last, whether it is a physical project, a career or more relevantly, an intimate relationship. The Fourteens unshakable loyalty and devotion to an undertaking or an ideal are derived from these powerful forces. In addition, while checking all negative features of the 5 aspect of their personality they enhance all its positive features, such as flexibility, versatility, alertness and physical courage. The 5 vibration’s spirit of adventure is steered into positive channels. By and large, the Fourteen is a stable, dependable, resourceful and trustworthy partner. These qualities amply compensate for occasional bursts of stubbornness, forthright and often tactless speech and an authoritative manner in declaring their intentions and expectations. They usually have trouble handling or accepting criticism or well meaning advice.

The Seventeen is a qualified Eight personality (1 + 7 = 8). The 3 vibrations operating within this individual contain a greater number of corresponding features than any that are disagreeable. Consequently there is hardly any internal turmoil or indecision. All 3 vibrations favour a clear direction in life backed up with system and organisation. All Seventeens regardless of other areas of influence are never without these features so essential for an uncomplicated and stable lifestyle. Good money managers are created by any one of their vibratory forces, while their combination ensures an exceptionally competent money manager. The Seventeen’s desire to rule or manage their personal affairs and the affairs of those closest to them, usually unconditionally, will need to be curtailed in a relationship with a Fourteen. There is a paradoxical element within the Seventeen caused by the interplay of the characteristics of the 8 vibration and a significant portion of the 7 vibration. With the 8 in company with the 1, is success and power in the material world, and an ambition which conflicts with the spiritual aspect of the 7. Although the 1 and 8 are powerful forces both individually and collectively, the 7 is an equally influential force with sufficient strength to deflect to a good extent the powers of the 1 and 8, and direct them toward idealistic and spiritual values. In doing so, they introduce a degree of non-attachment to worldly affairs. Seventeens can introduce a reasonably balanced state between abstract and concrete matters. Although Seventeens combine their practical sense with a penchant for contemplation of metaphysical matters they are not likely to clash with a Fourteen partner. They are more likely to keep this aspect of their personality strictly as their private preserve.

Although the qualities of leadership in both partners are quite evident they may not necessarily affect their partnership adversely. Being in charge is not as important as having their own way, or being free to have their own way. Both possess realistic valuations of themselves. They do not allow their lives to drift and so choose to firmly steer their own development and living conditions. Emotion and sentimentality do not interfere with their decisions and evaluations. Both can recognise each other’s dominant traits so that they may relate to each other better. One will not assume that the other will have similar reactions to situations.

These are not individuals who are dependent on social interaction in order to find fulfilment. They are by no means anti-social, but as self-sufficiency is one of their strongest assets they do not seek or indulge in social life in order to feel content. Impromptu social engagements are never welcome as both resent being taken away from their personal interests without notice and preparation. On the occasions they do enter social events Fourteens could be drawn out of themselves and eagerly participate in all manner of activity. They are invaluable assets to any function for their willingness to contribute their practical skills. As workers and entertainers they outlast most other guests. The various personality types they encounter do not affect them in the same was as they may do with a Seventeen. A Fourteen will be too busy doing their bit to be disturbed by things that do not directly concern them. In any case there will not be many who will interfere or challenge a Fourteen worker or entertainer. Seventeens are not easily drawn out of themselves. They ascertain more about others than they let out themselves. It would take a special person or situation for a Seventeen to open out. They are quick to detect false praise, flattery and insincerity. Persons showing these negative features are carefully avoided even though they may be making some form of contribution to a social event. The role played by a Seventeen in a social scene will complement the Fourteen’s conduct. Seventeens are skilled organisers, administrators and treasurers. They interact preferably on a person to person basis rather than in group activity. While people approach a Fourteen for practical help they approach a Seventeen for information and advice on material as well as personal matters.

Fourteens and Seventeens do not waste words during oral communication between themselves or with others. They are not caught up in flights of imagination or fantasy whenever they relate an experience, nor do they descend into ambiguity when issuing instructions or giving advice. Both are generally taciturn by nature. Periods of silence will not be uncommon as both can enjoy silence without feeling uncomfortable. The Fourteen when aroused could become argumentative and unyielding in their views. Seventeens find argument distasteful and futile although they may be equally unyielding in their views.

Personal time and recreational activity will always be an essential aspect of their overall lifestyle. The totality of life is seldom overlooked. Making a good living by means of their earning powers will only be a part of the equally important business of making a good life. The manual skills of the Fourteen will be put to good use in home maintenance, home improvement, in a private workshop and perhaps a vegetable garden. Their 4 aspect has a strong affinity with the earth and its produce. Fourteens are also attracted to highly competitive, vigorous, and body contact sports. Physical strength and physical courage combine to make them fearsome competitors. All sorts of outdoor activity are chosen by them in preference to indoor pastimes. Seventeens create a balance between outdoor and indoor stimulation, and relaxation. They are by no means as competitive as their Fourteen partners. Their ever present 7 influence draws them away from competitive physical activity into mental and metaphysical realms. Outdoor activities in natural surroundings form a necessary balance. As true nature lovers, they are instinctive gardeners, bushwalkers, birdwatchers or any such nature-oriented pastime. The difference between a Fourteen’s and Seventeen’s attraction to nature is seen in the Fourteen’s view of themselves as being apart from nature and their use of nature as a productive source. Seventeens, on the other hand, view themselves as part of nature which they can commune with and from which they can derive personal strength. A library of books and music will constitute the other half of the Seventeen’s recreational time. By and large, Fourteens and Seventeens complement each other in their choice of hobbies. They will be able to allow each other personal time as well as combine through the enjoyment of mutual pleasure by interchanging their hobbies.

Many small and medium businesses are owned by Fourteens. In this capacity they invariably achieve moderate to considerable success. A combination of enterprise and caution is their safeguard against failure. These same principles apply in the management of their private funds. They are responsible spenders and shrewd investors. Fourteens will not tolerate irresponsible handling of money by a partner, whether in business or in an intimate relationship. This is a problem they will not face with a Seventeen who is an equally competent money manager. Seventeens may not necessarily engage in their own business concerns, and are more likely to enter public service or work for large business enterprises as bankers, brokers and financial advisers. Money is safe in their hands, whether private or corporate. Both Fourteens and Seventeens are capable of deriving an income from more than one source. While it is more likely that the Seventeen will display generosity towards others in their spending habits there should not be any dissension between these partners. Mutual respect and trust will be the foundation of a successful partnership in regard to their financial affairs.

These are generally undemonstrative individuals who do not openly display the great depth of love and loyalty present in each. These qualities are made evident by deeds instead of words. They do not possess unrestricted outlets for spontaneous demonstration of emotion or for the declaration of sentiment. On rare occasions only will sentimental overtures by made and this will be done in strict privacy. This condition does not in any way negatively affect either as their involuntary and unconscious attitudes and actions leave no doubt about their respect, love and loyalty to each other. These are individuals who will be greatly embarrassed by an excessive or public exposure of their emotions. Theirs is a relationship in which love and respect will flourish in freedom to exercise the power of choice without undue influence by a partner. They are not people who will abuse this freedom they insist upon. Both are much too practical to compete with each other in any aspect of life. They realise the advantage of a partnership between two equally resourceful individuals.

14TH AND 18TH BIRTHDAYS

It is unlikely that the attraction of opposites will take place between persons with these birthdays. Both project an unmistakable individuality that does not seek support in an alliance with another. They are self-sufficient people whose idea of companionship does not involve the risk of surrendering or submitting to the expectations of a partner. Comparable characteristics in these individuals are far in excess of reciprocal traits. The principle of like attracting like is also unlikely to operate as their similarities are such that they may in the first instance fall into confrontation and challenge before both realise the futility of one attempting to override the other. Three possibilities can be envisaged when considering a relationship between Fourteen and Eighteen personalities. Firstly, there is the exceptional event of them falling in love at first sight, secondly, there is the post honeymoon period when their individual habits manifest and personality clashes commence, and thirdly, when they use their cultural and educational background coupled with commonsense, determination to succeed, and agree upon a partnership of equals. A possible fourth eventuality which cannot be ignored will, of course, be a separation following their inability to compromise. Although it will not be an easy task these partners do possess the inherent desire and willpower to make reasonable personal adjustments and succeed in any undertaking. Obstacles do not deter them once they have made up their minds that a particular undertaking is desirable. They are powerful and resourceful individuals with the potential to establish an opulent partnership or an intimate relationship based not only on material values, but also upon higher qualities of love and loyalty.

The most effective vibratory force these individuals share is symbolised by the number 1. This is the motivator for maximum use of all other vibratory forces. It provides a strong ego infused with qualities of independence, self-sufficiency and self-esteem. These qualities alone will reveal the difficulties Fourteens and Eighteens will encounter in a relationship that calls for “interdependence” compromise and reciprocity. Except for the natural desire of all humans for companionship these are not persons who will be dependent on a partner to fill in an area of living in which one or the other is lacking in ability. Some of their aptitudes and aspirations may differ slightly but both are equally competent in all aspects of living. They are unmistakably positive personalities, the 1 vibration being the clearest indication of positivity. Any negative features or negative idiosyncrasies in one or the other will be an introduction from environmental influences and not natural features. These are soon overcome as they grow older and establish their own way of life.

The 4 vibration in the Fourteen and the 8 in the Eighteen contain features that are not too different. Any differences will be in scale and not in essence. The 8, being a double 4, provides greater impetus to the overall personality. Both vibrations create untiring workers, either mentally or manually. A well planned and organised lifestyle is followed by all those influences fully or partly due to these vibratory forces. They cannot be rushed by others into doing things they have not planned themselves. The interaction of these vibrations in a Fourteen/Eighteen partnership could either create a partnership of real stability or produce a stalemate. A lot depends on the best use of the fundamental vibratory force in each, namely the 5 in the Fourteen (1 + 4 = 5) and the 9 in the Eighteen (1 + 8 = 9). The 5 on its own could be a recalcitrant force and run counter to the methodical ways of the 1 and 4. This will not be allowed in a qualified Five such as the Fourteen as the 1 and 4 possess a stronger grip on the personality. They tend to extract the best features of the 5 such as flexibility, adaptability, versatility, the spirit of adventure and physical courage. Disadvantageous features such as the desire for change for change’s sake, restlessness, lack of direction and unreliable habits are not allowed to emerge. The integral Fourteen emerges as a dependable, trustworthy and resourceful partner. Rather than claim a role as outright leaders most Fourteens could prefer freedom of action and freedom from immediate authority. They do not hesitate to exercise authority over a partner or work mate who is not in conformity with their systematic ways. However the need to do this will not arise with an Eighteen partner.

Just as certain inconsistencies exist between the basic 5 aspect of the Fourteen and their outer forces, there are differences between the basic 9 aspect of the Eighteen and their outer vibrations 1 and 8. Furthermore, just as the contradictions in the Fourteen are kept under control and used positively they are also controlled and used positively in the Eighteen. The 1 and 8 create a firm individual with unlimited ambition for success in public life. Possession of material prosperity and power over others is the principal desire of those influenced by the combination of these vibratory forces. These are not futile ambitions, as both vibrations possess all the qualities required for success and eminence in whatever career or business activity undertaken. However, the combination of the 1 and 8 could easily introduce a degree of relentlessness in the pursuit of the Eighteen’s ambitions. The welfare of others will not be given precedence over their own. But the inescapable influence of the 9 aspect of the Eighteen moderates all hard-headed attitudes and places limits on ambition for personal power in particular. The 9 is an all embracing force providing a humanitarian and global outlook on life. Self-centredness and selfishness are alien qualities in those fully or partly governed by this vibration. Ambitions generated by the 9 are more humanitarian and spiritual than materialistic. It is unlikely that someone under its influence would steal a march over another, or undermine another’s good name, or stand in the way of another’s progress. Consequently, the 9 vibration produces in varying degrees individuals with a strong sense of honour and obligation. The interaction of the 1, 8 and 9 forces creates a temperament that looks for success in a career or business without threading on the toes of others. The competitive nature of the 1 and 8 is not lost but guided along scrupulous lines.

Although both partners possess indisputable leadership attributes their principal aim for a well planned and orderly lifestyle should allow room for consultation. Their efforts will be rewarded by the absence of domineering features in both. Such features will only appear if one or the other is tied up with a disorganised partner. As these are essentially career oriented people equal sharing of domestic duties is doubly important. Both can comfortably accept a division of responsibility in the knowledge that there will be no neglect. Although the dual task of breadwinner and homemaker can be held by either they will not be fulfilled in the role of full-time homemaker. Eighteens spread their wings far and wide as a life of small or moderate accomplishment will not satisfy them. They will need to make a real effort to apportion sufficient time for domestic duties. Fourteens may not aim as high and wide because they gain satisfaction in a life of productive labour through the application of their several manual skills. They are likely to give more of their time towards home maintenance and improvements.

Choice of friends and acquaintances and other social contacts made by these partners should not differ to an extent that could isolate one or the other. Both are a mixture of conservative and progressive needs. Social involvement will not take place at the expense of other departments of life. However, once they enter a social event they gain the best out of it. Although generally selective of company both are able to adapt to unexpected or unfamiliar social scenes. They may take a short time to come out of themselves but when they do so they usually uplift the atmosphere of a group and stimulate activity in others. Their conduct at this stage should not be taken as normal by others who are not familiar with their habits. A working Fourteen or Eighteen is a different character to a frolicsome or entertaining personality. They are people who can let themselves go by releasing pent up energies and revealing the emotionally hidden aspects of their temperaments. They return to the serious business of life without unpleasant repercussions. There is a need to act this way from time to time as both get tired of prim and proper behaviour called for in public life. In their interaction with others both need to resist an urge to take control. They should exercise their individuality in a manner that does not limit or encroach upon the individuality of others. This issue would not be unfamiliar as it would have already been handled between themselves.

Neither partner lacks the capacity to voice their opinions in an unambiguous and emphatic manner. Both possess the gift of speech but neither would use it in a desultory manner. Companionable silence will be enjoyed from time to time. The Fourteen may be inclined to be more adamant and argumentative when differences of opinion arise. Eighteens would rather agree to disagree than forcefully impose their views. By and large, there should not be much argument between these sensible individuals. In general company they may not volunteer opinions, but on the occasions their views are invited they speak with a ring of knowledge and authority. The Fourteen’s know-how would be concentrated largely on practical and physical matters while that of the Eighteen will be extended into wider fields of knowledge. All Eighteens possess the potential to develop into influential public speakers with the ability to exercise a charismatic hold on an audience. They could remain accurate and authoritative in what they say or revert to good humour and repartee if they choose. They are able to adjust their delivery according to the mood and receptivity of their audience. The Fourteen’s manner of speech will be more legalistic and definitive. Their underlying imaginative powers are held in check by their stronger powers of concentration on an issue or upon a project they may be engaged in. Both partners are not without the capacity to see the lighter side of life but their serious attention to work leaves little time for indulgence in frivolity.

The competitive spirit is active in both and is openly displayed in the field of sport. Physical endurance and a daredevil spirit may be stronger in the Fourteen who will not hesitate to participate in body contact sports and activities that may expose them to grave physical danger. Eighteens are generally attracted to and excel in conventional sport with a minimum or no body contact and less exposure to physical injury. Their 8 aspect draws them more towards coaching and administration, especially when their playing days are behind them. The influence of their 9 aspect divides their time between physical activity and cultural interests. Although their 9 aspect also provides the potential for spiritual development many Eighteens may be close-mouthed or disinterested in matters of religion and general spiritual enquiry. Their Fourteen partners may be even more distant in these matters.

A desire for frequent travel and movement is not felt by either. Holidays will be spent at familiar locations. A real effort has to be made by them to break away from involvement in their business interests in order to enjoy a well earned break. As these partners will always remain busy people, very little time will be left for gardening and other home requirements. However what little time in available is put to best use by these competent individuals. Whatever they do, they do well.

Both partners are proficient money managers. Fourteens especially could be quite astute business persons. Eighteens may not be as hard-headed but they get by with a greater share of diplomacy. They may not be adapted to the cut and thrust of competitive commercial activity as a Fourteen is. Administration is more in line with their temperament and skills. Some degree of conflict may arise between these partners in the management of their financial affairs. Being equally competent in this regard one will not readily surrender control to the other. They will need to realise that pooling their resources will be better than entering into competition or operating separately.

Both possess interchangeable traits of the spender and the saver, or investor. The fundamental 5 in the Fourteen and the 9 in the Eighteen favour the former condition and the other features in both favour the latter. There is always the possibility that both can surrender to impulse in their spending habits. Eighteens would include others but Fourteens generally favour only themselves. Eighteens may put people before profit but Fourteens may too often place profit before people.

This can be made into a durable relationship and greatly enriched once both acknowledge that all life is interdependent. This can be done, because within their diversity they possess many common goals. Although a system of give and take will not be formed spontaneously, both possess the commonsense, the self-discipline and discernment to realise that cooperative living is their best practical option. Both possess the temperament that attracts positive waves that act in unison.

14TH AND 19TH BIRTHDAYS

It can be said at the outset that 14th and 19th birthdays reveal more features that could be used to strengthen a relationship than any that may cause disruption or separation. One of the most advantageous features is the absence of negativity. In any relationship negativity in both partners retards progress and creates many unwarranted problems, mainly due to poor self-esteem and indecision. The presence of negativity in one partner invariably leads to misunderstanding and misinterpretation of the motives of the other. These are not problems that will be faced in a Fourteen/Nineteen relationship.

The 1 and 4 vibrations being the strongest physical forces, the physical and material aspects of life are clearly evident in the life of a Fourteen. The fundamental 5 aspect of this personality, although representative of the emotional plane has an exceptionally strong affinity towards the physical side of life (1 + 4 = 5). It introduces passion, sensuousness and a keen desire for participation in all manner of physical activity movement and change. The overall strength of the Fourteen is derived from the interaction of the 1, 4 and 5 vibrations. They intermingle harmoniously and therefore do not create much conflict within the personality. In other words the individual is not pulled in different directions. The 1 vibration being the thinker, initiator and innovator and the 4 being the force that converts into physical form the designs and projects of the 1. The 5 is the motivator and adventurer ready to plunge into anything that is new and offers excitement. Fourteen personalities are also emotionally stable individuals. Excessive emotion and impulse which are characteristic of the 5 are modified by the 1 and 4. It will be unusual to find a Fourteen losing control over emotion.

Nineteens are in a unique situation as their integral personality structure is formed by the 1 vibration, which represents the beginning and the 9, completion of a life cycle (1 + 9 = 10 = 1). Characteristics of the 1 and 9 are therefore at opposite poles. The natural aggressiveness or self-assertiveness needed at the initial stage of life in order to get anywhere is counterbalanced by the understanding and wisdom of the mature 9. Self-interest is diminished and ego diffused by a global and humanitarian outlook on life. The general concept of the brotherhood of man is the hallmark of a fully developed Nine personality. Parochialism is replaced by internationalism. A Nineteen may not be a pure Nine yet they are strongly influenced by this vibration. The Nineteen’s orientation towards wider horizons takes place without reduction of positive or strong-minded attitudes, and more by an enrichment and rounding off of such features. The 9 vibration represents the mental plane with a strong pull towards spiritual values. Contrary to what may be thought of someone influenced by these values the 9 vibration is also a strong sexual force which complements well with the 1, 4 and 5 vibrations of the Fourteen which are all strong sexual forces. Emotional expression in the Nineteen is held back for the most part by the absence of an outlet in the emotional plane. The absence of a free outlet, however, by no means indicates the absence of emotion and sentiment. Emotion is never far from the surface due the Nineteen’s sensitive touch with all living things. An occasional outburst of emotion will not be unusual with a Nineteen.

Despite undisputed attributes of leadership these partners would rather choose freedom to act independently than exercise command over others, or more relevantly employ a domineering attitude towards a partner in an intimate relationship. At the same time, both need companionship but need it at a reasonable distance. Consequently, an arrangement can evolve which takes in independent action, mutual consultation and combined undertakings. As mentioned earlier a distinguishing feature in these partners is their positive outlook on life in general. The 1 vibration, to which they owe their positivity, among other features provides assets such as independence, self-reliance, self-sufficiency, self-confidence and decision as well as an egocentric and often egoistic or boastful mentality. With rare exceptions self comes before others in those influenced by this vibration in its pristine form. However, when this vibration is qualified by other forces as it is in the Fourteen and Nineteen the best features remain untouched while those that are less desirable such as pride, an acquisitive mentality and dogmatic ways are modified. The manner and extent to which this is done will depend upon the nature of other vibrations. It is this condition that creates the differences in the nature of the Fourteen and Nineteen. Not only do these other vibrations bring out the best in the 1 aspect but also more importantly the 1 brings out all that is positive in these forces. One way or another, the negative side of these forces struggle to manifest. The positivity of these individuals is usually indicated by the fact that they do not allow themselves to be influenced by the thoughts and ideas of others, ahead of their own.

Fourteen and Nineteen partners should acknowledge the fact that total satisfaction, contentment or agreement can never be given to them by others just as they can never provide others with similar conditions. This will naturally apply to their relationship. Fourteens may find it a little more difficult to do so as they could be rather more inflexible by nature. As both are individualistic rather than cooperative they will need to settle or share areas of responsibility evenly so that both feel they possess equal influence. Such areas need not remain exclusive territory of one or the other as both will benefit from consultation. What is important is the realisation that neither will take kindly to orders or arbitrary decisions, and this will no doubt happen early in their relationship. Sharing of responsibility should not be difficult as positive ideas emerge from both in the relationship. Although they may not always exhibit the same values and ideals, negative thoughts created by emotion, impulse, fear or impracticality are not likely to interfere when important decisions have to be made.

It is likely that Fourteens will respond more readily to the routine of domestic duties and engage in a larger share of household work. Although the urge towards movement is an underlying force they may spend more time at home than a Nineteen will. The urge to break away from routine will be released when their adventuresome 5 aspect emerges from time to time. They are quite capable of undertaking the dual task of breadwinner and homemaker. Nineteens may not be as willing to accept the role of full-time homemaker or the dual task on a permanent basis as they belong more to public life and the world at large than to a domesticated way of life. Their attention to domestic duties will be spasmodic rather than regular.

Nineteens are socially oriented people who easily occupy the limelight in any social scene. Yet, their interest in social entertainment is not necessarily the object of their social activity. They are usually attracted to some form of community service or group activity relating to education, charity, self-development or community aid programs. Social entertainment is often a by-product of these activities. Fourteens need to be drawn out of themselves and away from concentration on work in order to take an active part in society. When their 5 aspect comes alive they can easily take control of a social scene, but generally they may prefer to work behind the scenes, using their creative energy instead of taking up a prominent position that calls for plain sociability. Being a blend of practicality and commonsense they acquire popularity as all-purpose persons while Nineteens, as a blend of intellect and intuition, gain popularity through their ability to interact on equal terms with all sorts of people and conditions. However, neither of the pair is restricted to their individual forms of self-expression. These can be interchanged when the occasion demands. Both appreciate and welcome compliments from others but their self-esteem does not depend on them. They are not easily moved by the suggestive influences of their environment. In a difficult situation both possess the shrewdness to know what to say as well as to know what to overlook and what not to say. A Fourteen may, however, break this good habit occasionally when the stubborn aspect of their personality emerges. Nineteens, for the most part, would be prepared to live and let live or agree to disagree. If and when these partners fall into argument they are most likely to get nowhere as both are capable of providing facts from all angles in support of their points of view. Fourteens may get caught up with too much reasoning and analysis and lose touch with sentiment or compassion. The Nineteen’s compassionate side introduced by the 9 vibration will invariably censor any excess of rationality in favour of sentiment. Fourteens possess a wholesome scepticism that does not accept anything on tradition or authority alone. Nineteens possess a closer touch with intuitive depths which helps them accept that there are unfathomable aspects of life that cannot always be rationalised. Although both possess the potential for public speaking, Nineteens may make greater use of this gift.

One fairly certain way in which these partners, or anyone else for that matter, reveal themselves is by the direction of their natural interests or hobbies. Fourteens will automatically take to physical activities as it is in terms of action and manual skills that they find their best and natural expression. Nineteens are attracted to mental and philosophical aspects of life and view life in terms of people and their responsibilities towards them. Fourteens can and often do see themselves in isolation while engaged in their hobbies and other exploits but Nineteens see themselves as part of the whole scheme of things. Fourteens possess a competitive and combative nature as they relate most things to themselves and aim to get the best out of life. Nineteens disregard their combative nature and include others in their endeavours. They are also able to break away with less reluctance from a conventional way of life and venture into the relatively unknown in the mental, physical and spiritual realms. Fourteens can associate with them, except perhaps with regard to ventures into the spiritual realm. Fourteens are by no means without spirituality, which is the basis of all life, but their attraction to physical life leaves little time for further attention to spiritual matters. They may be prepared to follow an orthodox faith thus saving time from personal enquiry. Neither partner is likely to become over fond of one hobby or activity so that they depend upon it for their wellbeing. Both in varying degrees and different tastes are inquisitive, and interested in the world around them.

Management of the financial side of this relationship is likely to be given more attention by the Fourteen. Money management skills are better in this individual by virtue of the 4 vibration. The 9 aspect in the Nineteen is not so much incapable but more indifferent to the wise handling of money. Money is generally regarded by those influenced by this vibration as something to be spent without too much attention to its value. There is little attachment and therefore no urge to save. While those influenced by the 4 need to work for their money there is a magnetic influence or power that always provides the 9 with adequate or more than adequate financial resources. The 4 or all those influenced by this vibration consequently have strong attachment to hard earned money and are therefore careful in the manner it is disposed of. They are by no means stingy but their attitude is one of responsibility. Many Fourteens are likely to have more than one source of income. Nineteens will not be interested in more than one good source of income as their time will be taken up in other non-profit making ventures.

Although both partners can take the good with the bad, Fourteens may show better resistance in dealing with the rough and tumble of everyday life. They usually deal with conflict without losing emotional balance and can be actively involved in any situation without expending their emotional resources. Nineteens may not remain as even-tempered by comparison but in comparison with many others they too have adequate control over their emotions. An outburst of emotion is more likely in a Nineteen than in a Fourteen. Any display of sentiment will be reserved for the privacy of their home.

These are partners who need to maintain space between each other; a condition which will automatically develop. Love and respect for each other will be nurtured and increased by the fact that they would be able to view each other with a greater degree of objectivity than if they were sentimentally close. Nineteens will admire the economic and pragmatic mind of the Fourteen while the Fourteen, in turn, will admire the Nineteen’s wide horizons and imaginative and artistic temperament.

14TH AND 20TH BIRTHDAYS

Please refer to the chapter on the 2nd and 14th birthdays. Partners born on the 2nd and 20th days possess the same personality traits and talents. The presence of the Zero does not take away or reduce any features, nor does it provide any that are additional. The Zero may emphasise certain qualities in the 2 vibration in the twenty. However, the birth month will need to be taken in consideration as this will determine the quality of the Twenty, who will take up many of the features of the birth month in addition to those of the birthday.

14TH AND 21ST BIRTHDAYS

Please refer to the chapter on the 12th and the 14th birthdays. The Twelve personality may be read as a Twenty-One. The 12th and 21st days create strong and versatile Three personalities. There is practically no difference between these individuals. It is, however, possible that in some instances the 2 vibration may come up stronger in the Twenty-One than in the Twelve. At the same time, the 1 vibration may be stronger in the twelve than in the Twenty-One.

14TH AND 22ND BIRTHDAYS

A combination that includes the 22nd day does not allow a simple or clear-cut analysis when the issue of compatibility is being considered. This condition is created due to the number 22 symbolising a master vibration, and the comprehensive perspectives of those under its influence are often too widespread and intense for those motivated by the usually centralised characteristics of single digits. Another difficulty is the fact that Twenty-Two personalities fall into different types as compared with other generally recognisable or standard types.

The 14th day, for instance, forms a personality whose integral features are already established by the numbers of the birthday and whose personality is not appreciably altered by those of the birth month or any other area of influence. This is not the case with those born on the 22nd day. While the potential of the Fourteen remains on the surface of the personality and is used automatically and directed positively it is not necessarily the case with a Twenty-Two. The potential of this personality which is in fact much greater than that of the Fourteen or any other, depends on a supporting vibration that provides direction, stability and balance. In other words the Twenty-Two needs a rudder which the Fourteen already possesses. Without this guiding force Twenty-Twos could be uncertain and wayward and fail to realise and use their limitless potential. This directing force is the 1 vibration. It provides all that is necessary for maximum employment of the characteristics and talents existing in the birthday vibration. Belief in self and knowing who they are and what they want are among the most advantageous assets in all those gifted with this vibratory force. It increases their capacity for decisive action by providing not only self-confidence but also the willpower, assertiveness creativity and ambition to succeed in whatever they undertake. While Fourteens are already in possession of this vibratory force Twenty-Twos depend on the birth month for it and its attendant assets. Those born on the 1st, 10th, 11th and 12th months are naturally positive individuals who are free to make full use of the potential of the master vibration. However, the extent to which they do so will still depend on economic, educational, social and family background. There are also Twenty-Twos who may not have this number 1 in their birth month but whose total birth date adds up to a 1. These individuals experience a strong pull towards the qualities of this vibration. The amount they acquire will naturally depend on their conscious and unconscious efforts. Other Twenty-Twos who do not enjoy this directing force fall into a variety of personality types, the nature of each determined by the characteristics of the number of their birth month. It is this group that creates the various divisions within the Twenty-Two fold. As self-assured and one-pointed qualities of the 1 vibration are not present the comprehensive nature of the master vibration may not be realised by these Twenty-Twos. They may be exceptionally skilled in certain aspects of life but quite deficient in others. A loss of balance or evenness will be their problem.

Twenty-Twos in general are a rare combination of practicality and spirituality. Only an exceptional few could be totally materialistic and power hungry. As most are subject to the upward pull of spirit and the downward draw of matter they are more likely than most others to experience an identity crisis. Positive Twenty-Twos may sooner rather than later get to know who they are and what they want, while others may struggle with this problem for much longer periods.

Tokens of individuality by which one person is distinguished from another will not be clear when a Fourteen and a Twenty-Two meet for the first time. Initially they may find a good deal in common. A Twenty-Two who enters into a relationship with a Fourteen does not plunge into the unknown, so to speak, but gains a partner with a pragmatic and easily defined personality whose feet are firmly set down on Mother Earth. There are no dreamy or visionary notions of their views on life. They are essentially physically oriented individuals whose creative minds are geared into physical projects and the environment of physical pleasures. The vibratory forces forming this individual complement each other, thus relieving or avoiding any inner conflict. Contrary elements do not pull the personality into different directions. Fourteens know what they want and go about achieving their goals using their own set of values and beliefs. Despite the initial attraction, a Fourteen who forms a relationship with a Twenty-Two meets a relatively unknown and often enigmatic partner. When the practical aspect of the Twenty-Two is manifested these partners can appreciate and combine each other’s manual skills and form a productive relationship. Both are natural builders and possess great physical energy which they use constantly to get things done while others may still be contemplating action. Their lives are usually seen as a demonstration of practical living. However, Twenty-Twos who are attuned for the most part to higher frequencies display strong humanitarian tendencies, and consequently, direct their attention to the affairs of the world at large. Their ideas and ideals are visionary and far-reaching. Fourteens may be at a loss to understand their wide horizons. The difference between the partners will be seen in the Fourteen’s greater concern for self-preservation and self-advancement and the positive or near positive Twenty-Two’s greater identity with humanity irrespective of race, religion or cultural background. Those Twenty-Twos who are not motivated by the full force of the master vibration are closer to the Fourteen’s views on life.

The balance of power within this relationship may take some time to be settled. While both do not believe it is important to be in sole control they will not agree to surrender any part of their individuality. If they argue or raise objections it will simply be with the intention of safeguarding their individuality and not for the sake of gaining an advantage or boosting their egos. Once the reason for this reaction is realised it will be found that a Twenty-Two will accept the decisions of the Fourteen in most day-to-day matters relating especially to household management, and the Fourteen will accept the Twenty-Two’s decisions in matters relating to their interaction in society. This will not necessarily remain a clear-cut division of preferences and aptitudes as both are able to interchange these roles. The influence of the Fourteen may set certain limits to a Twenty-Two’s activities outside their domestic realm while a Twenty-Two may influence a Fourteen away from excessive concentration on personal or family welfare. Both need to act with subtlety as neither will take kindly to being told what they should or should not do. The use of subtlety will be more in keeping with the Twenty-Two’s temperament than the Fourteen’s who would prefer having their own way by direct action and speech. Both are able to handle calamity or a reversal of their fortunes without loss of emotional balance. Although emotion is never far from the surface it is not allowed to influence their decisions. Inequalities in their nature do no prevent a combination of strength when hard times are faced. Exceptions in regard to emotional reaction could be seen in Twenty-Twos born in the 2nd and 5th and 8th months. With these personalities emotion could override reason.

Positive Twenty-Twos find it easy to drop into place in any company. But their social life will be selective as well as extensive. Non-productive company or social engagements will be avoided. Those who are not as firmly in control of themselves may drift in and out of various social groups in attempts to find their proper place. Fourteens will not find themselves in a social situation not to their liking. They are as selective as a positive Twenty-Two is with the same desire for action and service instead of non-productive social intercourse. As most Twenty-Twos possess an awareness that is often beyond the range of the senses, (this could often remain an unconscious awareness and guidance) this added insight prompts them to delve into matters of a non-physical nature and associate with people with a similar disposition. Fourteens are not naturally known for any marked degree of extrasensory perception although their awareness of physical things is quite extraordinary. Unusually high sensitivity of their fingertips and strong and supple hands draw them into earthly and physical activity, leaving little time for social frivolity or enquiry into metaphysical matters. At certain times the Twenty-Two’s humanitarian and spiritual interests and the Fourteen’s physical attractions may lead them in different directions, but at other times their practical skills will be combined for an effective impact on their social circles and private lives.

These are partners who can alternate between silence, restrained speech and influential discourse. In the company of others they may often pursue their own line of thought without listening to the general conversation. Although action is usually given preference over conversation they are able to discuss issues at length from a rational and practical point of view. Some negative Twenty-Twos may introduce too much of a personal element into their speech driven by over-sensitivity, personal prejudice and rash judgment. Following their essentially practical nature the Fourteen’s language is forthright, factual and utilitarian while the Twenty-Two can be all these things and also contain an intuitive and spiritual understanding. In some Twenty-Twos their inner understanding of people and events may be switched on and off. Although Fourteens are usually inflexible in their views they would not readily enter into argument with a Twenty-Two partner, nor would a Twenty-Two find a need to challenge the Fourteen’s sensible approach to life in general. Frank and open conversation could, however, remain a perennial problem with a negative Twenty-Two. While some suffer from excessive self-consciousness and irrationality others suffer from inflexibility and rigidity.

During their leisure periods a mutual enthusiasm for adventure will keep these partners on a high note. A Fourteen usually takes to high risk sport that calls for courage and physical fitness. Some Twenty-Twos will join their Fourteen partners with equal enthusiasm while others will extend into a desire for artistic achievement. Although all Twenty-Twos possess an exceptional talent for the fine arts not all may pursue this line of fulfilment. Some may devote themselves to humanitarian work. They are creative artists rather than performing artists. Fourteens are by no means without artistic talent. They too are creative artists, especially with their hands. The Twenty-Two’s enthusiasm for cultural and humanitarian enterprises is certain to receive the support of a Fourteen partner. Once again, there are no strict divisions in their choice of recreational activity. Both are capable of participating in and enjoying each other’s natural affinities.

Regardless of the type of Twenty-Two, it would be better if the financial affairs of this partnership are managed by the Fourteen. Most Twenty-Twos would be quite capable of doing so also, but their extensive interests may leave little time for adequate attention to wise financial management. Fourteens would include money management as an essential part of their affairs and consequently, give it much more attention. They are prepared without embarrassment to drive hard bargains and keep in touch with market values. There is evenness in their spending habits while Twenty-Twos may have expensive tastes, especially in clothing, and could go overboard in their spending habits.

In conclusion, it may be repeated that the success of a Fourteen/Twenty-Two relationship is not a foregone conclusion. So it depends largely on the type of Twenty-Two partner. Despite inequalities in their nature many Fourteens and Twenty-Twos can expect to settle down to a happy and productive relationship, and this can be done by maintaining some distance between themselves so that they could view each other with a degree of objectivity. The more they do so the more they would admire and respect each other. For the most part, these partners are types who do not seek confidantes for their problems but prefer to work out their troubles alone. If this tendency can be modified and their troubles are shared much greater strides will be made towards success in all their enterprises as well as their individual wellbeing. Problems arise only with a hypersensitive and negative Twenty-Two, and little can be done about this condition. The prospects of a united and stable relationship are greatly reduced in this case.

14TH AND 23RD BIRTHDAYS

Qualified Five personalities meet in this partnership. Although their fundamental characteristics are derived from the 5 vibration (1 + 4 = 5 and 2 + 3 = 5) they do not manifest in a manner that identifies them as kindred spirits or individuals with similar temperaments. Their 5 qualities are in fact centred in modes that make them barely recognisable as essential Five persons. This is obviously due to the numbers or vibrations of their outer personality which operate from different planes of expression and are therefore of an altogether different nature. In each individual these outer features also moderate or intensify the power of the underlying 5. The results of such influence could be advantageous or disadvantageous.

5 qualities in the Fourteen/Five, by virtue of the physical vibrations 1 and 4 are harnessed and used positively in constructive ways. The pure 5 temperament which could be changeable, volatile and restless if not kept under control is not displayed in a Fourteen. But other 5 qualities such as alertness, courage, quick reflexes, experimentation, a spirit of adventure, versatility and personal magnetism are stimulated and used to the best advantage of these qualified Fives and those associated with them. Self-discipline and determination are among other beneficial features of both the 1 and 4 vibrations which help the Fourteen consolidate the multiple facets of their personality structure. Despite the 5 vibration’s position on the emotional plane it has much in common with the physical influences. Consequently, the 1, 4 and 5 forces blend without conflict, thus creating a stable personality structure enabling the individual to act as a well integrated force. The 1 aspect contributes willpower, self-sufficiency, ambition, vital energy and strength of purpose while the 4 provides steadfastness, loyalty, dependability and other enduring qualities that can be expected of the sturdy 4 vibration.

In a Twenty-Three/Five the underlying 5 force emerges through the 2 and 3 vibrations which are of quite a different order to the 1 and 4 motivating the Fourteen. Hence, the noticeable difference between the integral personalities of each. While the 1 and 4 modify and mobilise 5 qualities for practical use, the 2 and 3 intensify 5 qualities without providing direction and restraint. This condition is aggravated if the birth month is the 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 8th or 9th. The Twenty-Three’s lack of centralisation is due to the fact that the 2 and 3 vibrations have too much in common with each other and with the 5. All three forces combine to form exceptionally versatile and multi-talented individuals. In spite of this the major problem with them is their struggle to harness the multiplicity of endowment. They are invariably tempted to do too many things at the same time and often fail to complete one thing before they move to another, especially to something new or more exciting. Ultimate success in a course of study or a career is placed at risk by a lack of persistence and clear direction. Nothing passes the observation or curiosity of the Twenty-Three. Consequently, the ability to concentrate on a particular task, which is a natural asset in the Fourteen, eludes the Twenty-Three. The Twenty-Three, however, can be approached or interrupted while performing a task by someone seeking help or information, but a Fourteen will not take kindly to interruption in the same circumstances. They insist on doing one thing at a time without interruption.

Fourteens are comfortable within their individuality and their circumscribed areas of thought and action. They are not easily influenced one way or the other and so often expect others to conform to their principles of living. They do not hesitate to make known their expectations. This approach will be speedily rejected by a Twenty-Three. Freedom of action and movement is the lifeblood of the Twenty-Three. Their flexible nature is open to suggestion but not to conditions that inhibit their freedom-loving temperament. For the most part, they are not inclined to give direct orders but tend to manipulate others in order to get their own way. This will not succeed with a Fourteen.

Fourteens react to situations after some forethought and do so in more or less conservative ways. They cannot expect a Twenty-Three to do the same. This individual’s reactions will be instant and often unpredictable with success in some instances and disaster in others. Differences of opinion arise from the Fourteen’s tendency to evaluate things from a practical and utilitarian point of view and the Twenty-Three’s from an artistic and dramatic angle. Though these partners may often appear to be at loggerheads, each creates a beneficial effect on the other. Fourteens modify a Twenty-Three’s exuberance and impulsiveness while the Twenty-Three extracts the buoyancy of the underlying 5 vibrations which is held in check by the more conservative nature of the 1 and 4 aspects of the Fourteen.

While Fourteens can strike an even balance between a career and domestic responsibilities a Twenty-Three’s lifestyle tends much more towards a career and other external attractions. While routine and system needed for the orderly management of domestic affairs are generally natural traits in a Fourteen they are uncommon features in a Twenty-Three. This partner thrives on change, challenges, novelty, distraction and even uncertainty – conditions so unsuitable to a well ordered domestic life. Fourteens can hardly rely on a Twenty-Three to faithfully carry out an agreed portion of domestic duty. However, when Twenty-Threes make up their minds to perform a particular domestic task, such as preparing and serving a sumptuous meal, they do so with enthusiasm and skill. Whoever observes their performance for the first time will be mistaken if it is accepted as their normal behaviour. A Fourteen may have to adjust to the reality of the Twenty-Three’s aversion to the routine of a relatively quiet domestic way of life and the Twenty-Three, in turn, has to make an effort to accept certain standards of domestic management required by the Fourteen.

Twenty-Threes function at their best in a social scene. The bounce of youth being stronger in these individuals, social initiatives will invariably be taken by them. At the same time, the Fourteen’s self-discipline and authority will be used to prevent an excess of social involvement at the expense of domestic togetherness. Once Twenty-Threes begin to enjoy themselves they find it hard to stop. All Twenty-Threes are skilled entertainers who like to be thought of as popular. They turn most situations into an experience with little tolerance of sad and serious conditions. Placed among unimaginative and humourless people they move quickly to brighter scenes. When entering a social gathering they make a deliberate effort to meet and mingle with everyone present. Despite an apparent optimistic and extroverted manner many could be insecure within themselves and seek the support and adulation of their friends and acquaintances in order to boost their self-confidence. Fourteens, on the other hand, are secure within themselves and do not depend on others for self-assurance. They apply a constant code of conduct in any social situation while Twenty-Threes adjust their conduct to suit different conditions. Twenty-Threes are usually found in the thick of things gaining swift popularity although Fourteens by no means remain unnoticed. They enjoy social intercourse, but enjoy it with restraint. They have enduring friendships and few acquaintances while Twenty-Threes have many acquaintances and not too many enduring friendships. The exuberance of a Twenty-Three may not always be acceptable to certain serious or contemplative types who value silence and controlled activity more than constant activity and noise.

When observed by others an obvious difference will be seen in the oral expression of these partners. They are left in little doubt that the Twenty-Three is the talkative one. The Fourteen’s speech is conditioned by economy of words, forethought and practical values while that of the Twenty-Three is determined by an excess of words, imagination, spontaneity and effusive body language. A colourful story is more important than an unambiguous narration of facts. With less control over their emotions Twenty-Threes do not make an effort to disguise their likes and dislikes. Fourteens may be quite straightforward in expressing their opinions but these are given after an honest endeavour towards an objective assessment rather than submission to subjective thought. Body language is kept at a minimum. Touching is a method of communication seldom used by the Fourteen but the Twenty-Three may use this responsive means of influence to their advantage. In a difference of opinion a Twenty-Three may gain a temporary advantage over a Fourteen but the Fourteen’s views may eventually prevail because more persistence will be demonstrated by this partner. The Twenty-Three’s natural acting talents can hardly be kept out of ordinary conversation. Fourteens do not feel an urgent need to fill in gaps in conversation like the Twenty-Three who has an irresistible urge to keep talking. A Fourteen tends to remain in a certain line of thought while a Twenty-Three who possess a vocabulary that is much more extensive, alert, flexible, argumentative and often manipulative than their partner. While Fourteens are able to influence and convince others with plain facts, commonsense and practicality Twenty-Threes do so with charm, sensuality, humour and natural friendliness. Person to person communication is preferred by the Fourteen while a Twenty-Three, who makes an excellent sales representative, is prepared to take on an audience without hesitation.

Many Fourteens possess an instinctive attachment to the land and its products. Whether a Fourteen occupies acreage or a suburban block, whatever land is available will be used for some productive purpose rather than mere ornamentation. For instance, some are, by preference, vegetable and fruit growers with little interest in a flower garden, unless flowers are grown for sale. It will be a rare Twenty-Three who would take to the land. Most admire the gardens of others rather than spend time getting their hands dirty creating their own. In exceptional instances some Twenty-Threes, following their artistic nature and high sense of beauty and colour, would devote time to a flower garden or a florist business. In other recreational activity Fourteens usually take to strength and endurance events in competitive and non-competitive sport. They usually emerge as winners due to an abundance of vital energy, willpower, competitiveness and dedication. In their determination to excel in a chosen activity they are not distracted by other attractions. Twenty-Threes take to rhythmic and flowing activities which demand alert minds, quick reflexes and agile bodies. Body contact sports are avoided as much as possible. They may not be as dedicated or as fiercely competitive as a Fourteen. The social life associated with sport is equally attractive to them while commercial gain associated with sport will be more attractive to the Fourteen. A Twenty-Three is invariably enthusiastic about one thing or another, but in any undertaking there is a time limit to their enthusiasm.

Both partners are creative artists. Fourteens possess exceptional sensitivity and dexterity with their hands. All home maintenance and improvement will be carried out by this partner. Outside help will be called in only in rare instances. While the Fourteen is blessed with a high sense of form and design Twenty-Threes are gifted with a keen sense of colour, smell, beauty and rhythm. They are found among actors, dancers, poets, writers, landscape designers, portrait painters and interior decorators. Beautification of the home will be the special preserve of the Twenty-Three. However, a Fourteen partner must expect frequent adjustment, additions and improvements within the home as regular change of aspect and scene is an essential need in their partner. Frequent travel is another of the Twenty-Three’s needs, while occasional travel will satisfy the Fourteen. The Twenty-Three is a delightful and charming travel companion. At their radiant best while on the move they just follow their inclinations while on holiday. Most Fourteens would rather have a set plan and final destination. A compromise can always be reached to the satisfaction of both. The underlying adventuresome 5 characteristics in the Fourteen can easily be brought to the surface while on holiday.

Both partners can engage in successful careers that bring in incomes that ensure an opulent lifestyle. Fourteens can enter any form of commercial business as well as any of the professions, however, Twenty-Threes will do well to avoid business ventures of their own unless they are in equal partnership with a Fourteen partner or an accountant. Although they make excellent salespersons wise money management is not their forte. Control of money in business and domestic affairs should be placed in the hands of the Fourteen. Forgetting about the past and not worrying too much about the future, Twenty-Threes tend to enjoy the present. In their scale of values money is merely a means to satisfy their many desires. They may be prolific earners from more than one source, but money usually goes out as fast as it comes in. As a means of security money is not important to a Twenty-Three although it is quite essential to a Fourteen. Money is handled in terms of profit and loss by the Fourteen who will invariably resort to bargaining with a view to paying the lowest price and obtaining the best value. Twenty-Threes are too impulsive and impatient to do so. A certain amount of friction can be expected until the Fourteen is given overall management of their financial affairs. The Twenty-Three may eventually entrust the Thirteen with this responsibility on condition they are allowed a certain amount for spending without being accountable for their actions.

The situation that needs to be addressed in this relationship s the Twenty-Three’s need for freedom of speech, freedom of movement and their refusal to be answerable to an authoritative influence. These characteristics have to be curtailed to some degree for their own sake and for the sake of their relationship with a Fourteen partner. They are not likely to establish a stable and enduring domestic life unless they accept the advice of a Fourteen. A Fourteen’s influence will help them exercise some self-discipline and harness their talents instead of indulging in too much change. The Fourteen, on the other hand, will need to control an urge to exercise too much control over the Twenty-Three. They should not expect the Twenty-Three to do things in order to conform to strict rules and timetables – a practice that is inherently not suited to their temperament. The best features of a Twenty-Three can be enjoyed by allowing them reasonable freedom because the love and loyalty of this partner can only be ensured by granting them their independence and appreciating their individuality.

14TH AND 24TH BIRTHDAYS

An eye-catching feature in this combination is the number 4. Fourteen and Twenty-Four personalities certainly possess the talents and characteristics of the 4 vibration. This vibration is an inseparable part of each of these personalities. It cannot be isolated from the whole as it has no existence independent of the whole. The 1 and underlying 5 vibrations in the Fourteen (1 + 4 = 5) and the 2 and underlying 6 in the Twenty-Four (2 + 4 = 6) exercise a profound influence on the way 4 qualities are expressed by each. There are similarities as well as dissimilarities.

Active, assertive and decisive forces motivate the Fourteen by virtue of their outgoing 1 and 5 aspects and these bring out the vigorous aspects of the 4. Receptive, peaceful, placid and cooperative forces motivate the Twenty-Four by virtue of the 2 and 6 which combine harmoniously with the 4 to form the integral personality. The 2 and 6 activate the protective, nurturing and helpful qualities of the 4 vibration. As a consequence of these different impressions on each individual the shared 4 vibration will be used in an independent and individualistic manner by the Fourteen and in a cooperative, coexistent and sharing ways by the Twenty-Four. The 4, among other things is a disciplinary force. This quality will be used by the Fourteen in a physical and emphatic manner upon themselves and on others and, by the Twenty-Four, in a mental and persuasive manner.

Fourteens and Twenty-Fours can be easily identified as individuals oriented towards opposite poles. Expenditure of energy through outgoing activity and self-assertiveness is the manner of the Fourteen while the gathering and storage of energy is the way of the Twenty-Four. One is positive and the other negative as in electricity. Both are coequal forces. Consequently, the magnetic attraction of opposite forces will be responsible for forming and sustaining a compatible relationship between these individuals. The natural urge of the Fourteen is to undertake the role of provider and at the same time enjoy a variety of life’s experiences. While doing so they would expect loyalty and support on the home front. A Twenty-Four is a homemaker by instinct and will willingly and competently undertake domestic responsibilities. Many Twenty-Fours, however, will not confine themselves to domesticity as they are multi-talented people who are quite capable of performing a dual role of homemaker and provider or part-time worker. They do not feel restless or impatient when performing routine domestic duties as some Fourteens are likely to do. Fourteens welcome occasional change and can vary their conduct to suit different situations. Change is not as necessary for the Twenty-Four’s wellbeing. They are able to maintain almost the same mode of conduct in most circumstances. In other words, when flexibility is necessary it comes easier to the Fourteen. Twenty-Fours are inclined to reject unplanned activity.

An authoritative position in this relationship will be assumed automatically by the Fourteen. Decisiveness, leadership and freedom to act without interference are some qualities that are part and parcel of their individuality. They are reactive and competitive when confronted by extraneous forces. Twenty-Fours, on the other hand, possess an inner awareness of the interdependence of life and are cooperative and non-competitive. They do not react with blatant aggression. The law of attraction works better for them relieving them of the need for acquisitive action. They are quite comfortable working alongside or on equal terms with others, especially in an intimate relationship. With these characteristics they emerge neither as leaders nor followers but as people who choose to work and live cooperatively by following democratic principles as opposed to those that are authoritarian. They make excellent partners in any field of activity and excel as guardians, custodians, community workers and upholders of the established order of society.

Fourteens and Twenty-Fours combine well in all manner of activity, each performing a role best suited to their personality. In a relationship with a Twenty-Four the Fourteen’s best aspects, such as generosity, loyalty and unfailing support in all circumstances will be displayed. Twenty-Fours are quiet achievers who reach their highest development in a harmonious relationship with a member of the opposite sex who provides the opportunity and backing for establishing a comfortable, peaceful, and prosperous family life free from tension, strife and insecurity. They are not conditioned to live in an environment of dissension and disunity, and would do anything in their power to establish a stable family life. In the process of doing so they will not be let down by a Fourteen partner. Despite the Fourteen’s self-sufficiency they will always derive comfort from the tranquil nature of the Twenty-Four. At the same time the Twenty-Four needs an injection of confidence and assurance of support from time to time, and it will be given by the Fourteen. They may not be effusive with their compliments but their dependability, positive actions and confidence will speak for themselves.

Twenty-Fours are comfortable in social conditions where patterns of general behaviour are already established according to currently acceptable codes of conduct. Sudden changes or unprecedented actions by anyone need to be introduced gradually. Fourteens are not too different, although they are able to cope better with novelty and unexpected situations. While Twenty-Fours will be tempted to retreat from most forms of strife, not through fear but for their unshakable desire for peace, Fourteens will boldly enter the fray and usually emerge unharmed. In social activity as well as in other affairs patience and impatience distinguish these partners. A feeling of restlessness and a desire for physical activity comes over the Fourteen after a brief period of repose. Twenty-Fours do not feel the same degree of restlessness for physical activity and remain content to spend more time engaged in indoor pastimes. Their social life is often linked with administrative and other duties associated with clubs and other social and charitable organisations. Fourteens and Twenty-Fours can in fact combine successfully to run any sort of business or recreational enterprise. Although their talents can be interchanged when necessary Fourteens are likely to take over outdoor work while Twenty-Fours remain indoors attending to clerical and staff management.

The Twenty-Four’s disposition is such that they are in a better position to bridge the generation gap and interact comfortably and helpfully with all age groups. Although their loyalty and devotion to family is unquestionable they are able to extend themselves into the community. They are invariably found in voluntary organisations. With a natural talent for gaining peoples’ cooperation they remain popular and valuable workers. Fourteen partners will not be excluded from these activities. The Fourteen’s temperament is such that they are able to stimulate activity in others through positive expression of their natural talents as well as enthusiasm and motivation. They are attracted to competitive sport and do not hesitate to take up challenges involving danger and the risk of physical injury. Twenty-Fours are generally non-competitive. Music, dancing and the creative arts as well as teaching, counselling and coaching are much more in keeping with their disposition. Some may also take a keen interest in collecting small objects of artistic value. Their home will always be tastefully furnished and decorated.

Despite some contrasting elements in their natures the hobbies and other recreational activities taken up by these partners will not be too different. For instance, both are quite adept with their hands. From manual labour to all forms of creative pursuits such as carpentry, mechanics, agriculture, pottery, ceramics, massage therapy or anything else requiring manual dexterity and a natural sense of form and design. Their practical talents free them from the need for outside help when repairs or improvements in and around the home need to be carried out. They radiate vitality and energy when performing any manual task. The Twenty-Four may not be as adventurous as a Fourteen because their sense of curiosity is less. They are by nature cautious and often hesitant while a Fourteen is curious and eager. These characteristics will be displayed during their trips away from home. The Twenty-Four will always be looking forward to their return home when a holiday is nearing its end. Their greatest satisfaction is derived from homely pleasures. They are natural cooks who eagerly specialise in the culinary arts. Although Fourteens could lend a hand in the kitchen, this area will generally be occupied by the Twenty-Four. A work shed may be more suitable for a Fourteen’s talents. Both partners are fond of good food and much pleasure will be shared in home cooking and entertaining as well as dining out.

Speech is another aspect of self-expression in which these partners are not too far apart. Both are generally unruffled and purposeful whenever they need to express a point of view, explain themselves or instruct others. In certain circumstances Fourteens may raise their voices through an unconscious urge to maintain authority or through intolerance and frustration when others do not meet their standards of efficiency. A Twenty-Four is seldom affected by such reactions due to a more understanding and patient disposition. They may address issues in a firm tone but in an explanatory and non-confrontational manner. While Fourteens may display instant indignation when their views are challenged Twenty-Fours are open to sensible opposition and subsequent discussion. In many instances Fourteens could be compared to a Regimental Sergeant Major and a Twenty-Four as a dedicated educationalist.

Money management, which can be a source of constant discord in many relationships is unlikely to create problems between these partners. Inability to earn on a regular basis, irresponsible spending and gambling are not habits either partner would have to contend with. Both are hard workers and faithful providers. They are also cautious spenders and wise investors. While Fourteens are rather more optimistic regarding their financial position, Twenty-Fours may display some anxiety despite the fact that they may be quite comfortable. The Fourteen will also act more decisively when the need arises to spend or invest on a large scale. Both partners go for quality in food, dress and home ornamentation. They evaluate all their purchases for quality, utility value and price. Over-attachment to domestic possessions and domestic issues could be a problem with some Twenty Fours, especially with those born in the 6th month. Possessiveness is an unfortunate trait in those who possess an overloading of the 6 vibration.

Fourteens and Twenty-Fours are individuals who do not easily surrender to sentimental impulse. This is an advantage in this relationship as neither will be comfortable living with an emotionally demonstrative or excitable partner. They are both down-to-earth and rational people who demonstrate their love and loyalty in a variety of practical ways. Individually and collectively they are seldom disillusioned as they do not entertain many illusions. They can trust and depend on each other and confidently look to each other as their first choice for support when things go wrong. Mutual respect will increase as the years go by as both possess talents and fine personality traits that are not readily knowable upon early acquaintance. With both partners mutual appreciation of their value will grow as their relationship matures. While many Fourteens may advertise themselves at times, Twenty-Fours do not push or sell themselves. An intimate relationship as a two-way street will be recognised and followed by both. The end of their honeymoon period will not be followed by disappointment but by enduring years in which they pool their resources to build an affluent lifestyle. When conflict of any sort arises the Twenty-Four will be more inclined towards conciliation and would act without losing a sense of reality and fair play and their own sense of dignity, and wellbeing.

14TH AND 25TH BIRTHDAYS

The network of characteristics, talents and potential in this combination contains an interesting collection of similarities and dissimilarities. A spontaneous blending of perspectives, values and attitudes between Fourteen and Twenty-Five personalities is not likely to take place because dissimilarities which outnumber similarities may be encountered in the first instance. However, their association over a period of time can overcome many discordant features. Both possess qualities that can contribute towards an abundantly rich union. These are not individuals who can be held down or relegated to secondary or subordinate roles. All that is needed is a give and take approach in a partnership of equals. This condition will eventuate when the Fourteen ceases all direct attempts to change the Twenty-Five and when the Twenty-Five ceases all subtle attempts to change the Fourteen. Both will eventually find out that changing one another cannot be done. Mutual acknowledgement of the multiplicity of talent in each, which cannot be avoided or overlooked, will help them relate to each other on equal terms. What they also need to overcome to some degree is a natural desire for individual action, and what they need to foster is cooperative activity. There is no doubt that both partners require personal space, and this will be taken with mutual consent. The success of this relationship will in fact depend on the degree of space they allow each other and the responsible use they make of it. At the same time, when they do get together as a team a formidable combination of talent will be the outcome. Their combined efforts will inevitably result in richness of experience in multiple aspects of living.

The Fourteen is fundamentally a Five personality (1 + 4 = 5). However, all 5 qualities are influenced and shaped by the 1 and 4 vibrations operating in the foreground of the personality. Their influence is of considerable benefit to the integral personality as it allows the best features of the 5 vibration to emerge while quelling all negative aspects. Positive 5 features such as physical courage, versatility, flexibility, adaptability, quick reflexes, alertness and a spirit of adventure correspond well with the 1 and 4 vibrations. Negative aspects of the 5 such as inconsistency, desire for change for change’s sake and irresponsibility are not given a chance to manifest by the solid practicality and discipline of the 1 and 4. These outer forces arise from the physical plane and possess a good deal in common. Features they do not have in common are complementary. The Fourteen personality, as a consequence of these complementary forces, is a well-knit force that acts positively and affirmatively. They are most unlikely to use their time and energy in frivolous or unproductive activity. There are no contrary elements pulling them in different directions that could prevent them from acting decisively and effectively. Due to the absence of such conflicting forces they find it much easier to develop a good relationship in the partnership which in turn creates a positive attitude in their dealings with others.

The Twenty-Five is fundamentally a qualified Seven personality (2 + 5 = 7). The three vibrations forming their integral personality do not blend or combine as closely and helpfully as those within the Fourteen. There is a degree of disturbance within the personality due to the contrasting qualities of the 5 and 7 forces and the tentative nature of the 2. Basically, the 5 is a bold and extroverted force and people controlled by this vibration enjoy life by maximum use of the five senses. The 7, on the other hand, is a retiring, studious and spiritually perceptive vibration. Pure Seven personalities, that is, those born on the 7th day or those strongly influenced by the 7 divide life into proportionate enjoyment of the physical aspects and its non-physical or metaphysical aspects. The proportion of abstract orientation usually increases as they grow older. The 2 aspect of the Twenty-Five can swing both ways and accommodate to the movement of the 5 and its emotional expression as well as understand the reserve of the 7 and its need for contemplation on non-physical aspects of life. The 2, among other things, is a psychic force which harmonises well with the spiritual aspects of the 7. The 5 vibration is well known for the quality of curiosity but this curiosity is generally confined to the physical world while the curiosity and investigative nature of the 7, supported by the 2 extend into abstract realms. The Twenty-Five, in short, has a more complex and enigmatic personality structure than the Fourteen. The birth month determines the type of Twenty-Five in regard to reliability and steadfastness. While these qualities are never a problem with a Fourteen they could be the cause of negative attitudes in some Twenty-Fives. Although they are multi-talented individuals those born in the 2nd and 5th months are likely to indulge in a scattering of talent. The fundamental 7 aspect may not be strong enough to hold negative aspects of the 2 and 5 that will emerge due to an excess of one or the other. The 5 is a restless, volatile and unpredictable force that cannot be harnessed or contained unless it is controlled by a strong counteracting force such as the 1 vibration. While the realities of life are handled head-on by the Fourteen, Twenty-Fives not having a 1 in their birth month may not be as diligent and consistent. Too much freedom to indulge in personal inclinations may be demanded by them. The Twenty-Five’s degree of positivity will be greatly increased if the birth month is January, October, November or December. The 1 vibration provides the sense of direction and persistence needed by those influenced by the 2 and 5 forces.

Close attention will be needed to problems arising during distribution of authority and responsibility in this partnership. The Fourteen will assume an authoritative role and the Twenty-Five will expect freedom from authority. Fourteens are loyal, protective and dependable partners who perform at their best in partnership with someone who conforms to their systematic ways of doing things. The habits of a Twenty-Five are by no means as clear-cut as those of the Fourteen. Their need for variety, activity and movement is much greater. Both partners are staunch believers in self-reliance and self-effort. Accustomed to doing things themselves they find it difficult to delegate work, accept help or work in conjunction with others. The natural tendency of the Fourteen is to lead, direct and when necessary exercise discipline. They are frank and plain-spoken in their intention to take charge of affairs, leaving little room for opposition. Their emphatic manner is in direct contrast to the individuality, sensitivity and reserve of the Twenty-Five who will not resort to direct measures to control others either in public life or private life. They may use subtle ways to manipulate people and circumstances to their advantage. Sooner or later the Fourteen will grasp the unpalatable fact that a Twenty-Five cannot be subjected to dogmatic rule and at the same time see that they can only be approached with fairness, respect and release from arbitrary rules and regulations. The Twenty-Five, in turn, should exercise their ample powers of insight into human nature and see that the Fourteen’s motives are essentially the establishment and maintenance of an orderly lifestyle and not necessarily the dominance of a partner for the sake of boosting their egos.

The attitude of these partners towards social life is twofold. On the one hand, they may enter into the spirit of things and give as well as receive pleasure. On the other hand, the urge to withdraw or refrain from prolonged social activity comes upon them. Generally, neither of the two depends on too much social intercourse for stimulation and entertainment. Fourteens find that an excess of social life interferes with their productive hobbies and avocations. Twenty-Fives are individuals who need periods of privacy to pursue a variety of strictly personal interests which could even exclude their partners. Their choice of friends and acquaintances will be made from those connected with their recreational activities rather than from associates in business life. Fourteens will invariably be drawn into strength and endurance activities in which their competitive spirit, staying power and physical strength are placed in opposition to competitors and the forces of nature. Even in professional life they may be drawn to occupations that involve elements of danger. Twenty-Fives may not go as far in this type of activity due to other interests pulling them away. While Fourteens are overcharged with physical energy Twenty-Fives possess a balance of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual forces that are essentially rhythmic, flowing and flexible. All variety of sport, music, literature, drama, esoteric studies, the natural sciences and educational travel are among the many recreational interests open to a Twenty-Five. Pure Five personalities born on the 5th day of the month are life’s adventurers. Qualified Fives such as the Fourteen and those strongly influenced by this vibration such as the Twenty-Five will be companionable travellers. Outward exploration by the Fourteen and outward as well as inward exploration by the Twenty-Five distinguishes the two. Their holidays will be spent away from home in out-of-the-way spots. Both possess an attraction to the land. Twenty-Fives are gardeners who will be more interested in the beauty of flower gardens while Fourteens look towards productivity in vegetable and fruit cultivation.

Faced with practical problems Fourteens emerge as quick, intelligent and enterprising people but many will be impatient and disinterested in abstract and speculative issues. On the other hand, many Twenty-Fives, largely depending on their upbringing, are able to see non-physical and spiritual causes behind physical effects. Their insight may be unconscious at first but, with self-training and open minds, they acquire conscious knowledge of the inner side of life. Some could be disturbed by too many insights that keep flooding their minds due to psychic sensitivity and receptivity. Fourteens are not faced with this condition. All positive Twenty-Fives, however, successfully combine metaphysical speculation with realistic values.

Fourteens and Twenty-Fives are not individuals possessed by an uncontrolled urge for constant talk. They may not stand out as animated conversationalists who take up the centre of attention. But when they choose to speak their contribution is always worthy of attention. Both are able to exercise control over speech, giving out their opinions when they need to and for the rest, remaining silent. Between themselves, Fourteens refrain from excessive speech due to their habit of concentrating on any task they give themselves. Twenty-Fives indulge in speechless interludes as they enjoy silence for silence’s sake, preferably in natural surroundings. Fourteens speak out with authority and expect their views to be accepted. They seldom leave themselves open to contradiction as they stick to studied facts and figures. Twenty-Fives are free from some of the disciplinary tendencies of the Fourteen, and less concerned whether their views are accepted or not. Although Fourteens resent challenges to their views, an exception may be seen in their dealings with a Twenty-Five as this personality will display a patient and refined method of handling a Fourteen’s adamant opinions.

Material abundance is an important part of a Fourteens ambitions. They work hard for the wealth they eventually acquire. In the process they are capable of withstanding and overcoming temporary reversals of fortune. They are skilful money managers who maintain a good balance between income, expenditure and investment. They need to be thoroughly convinced of the value and need of an article before parting with their money. Many Fourteens could be self-indulgent and spend more on themselves than on others. In partnership with a Twenty-Five or with any other for that matter a Fourteen will expect to take charge of the finances. Although not irresponsible in money matters, Twenty-Fives enjoy spending more than a Fourteen. As long as they can do so without having to account for their actions they would be prepared to listen to a Fourteen’s plans in regard to saving investment and the purchase of expensive items such as cars, property and holidays. While money may be regarded as a goal in itself by many Fourteens most Twenty-Fives regard it as merely incidental to their goal of enriching life with experience. Despite a somewhat stabilising influence of the 7 vibration, they may not be as preoccupied with their bank balance as a Fourteen.

Both partners for different reasons find it hard to remain still. Fourteens need to be busy doing something constructive and productive while Twenty-Fives need to be enquiring, investigating and experimenting. These partners are not likely to get on each other’s nerves through boredom. Fourteens find it easier to entertain or direct one flow of thought on a particular matter and consequently concentrate with less effort on performing one task at a time. Twenty-Fives are subject to distraction from many levels of influence including the non-physical. While this provides an all-round alertness it also interferes with concentration. Both experience difficulty giving release to emotion. The undemonstrative nature of the 1 and 4 vibrations in the Fourteen restrains the spontaneity of their 5 aspect. The reserved and studious nature of the 7 in the Twenty-Five will make this personality look with distaste on uncontrolled expressions of emotions and there is more emotional conflict and unpredictability within the Twenty-Five personality. Although Fourteens are not free from occasional burst of temper they have greater control over their emotions.

14TH AND 26TH BIRTHDAYS

A qualified Five and a qualified Eight personality enter into this combination (1 + 4 = 5 and 2 + 6 = 8). A combination of a pure Five, that is, one born on the 5th day and a pure Eight born on the 8th day cannot be regarded as harmonious and compatible as neither will agree to cooperative living. Both are types that need to run things their own way and brook no interference. Qualified Fives and qualified Eights emerge from a different mould. 5 and 8 features in each are influenced by other vibratory forces that in many ways make the combination conducive to a successful and lasting relationship.

Pure Five personalities thrive on variety, novelty and personal freedom. Consequently they are types who most easily change relationships. On the other hand those influenced by the 1 and 4 vibratory forces are known for their loyalty, dedication and commitment to an undertaking. Separation from a partner of their choice will be taken as a personal failure and such people do not take kindly to failure. As these vibrations exercise a powerful influence over the Fourteen all negative and unstable features of the 5 vibration recede, while all positive features such as flexibility, adaptability, extroversion, fearlessness and physical agility are brought to the fore. The Fourteen stands out as a self-possessed and well adjusted individual free from conflicting elements that could pull them in different directions. The multiplicity of personality traits and talents ensure success in public life but may not always remain helpful in private life. Success depends on the type of partner chosen. A Twenty-Six will be a good choice as this individual will not vigorously contest the Fourteen’s instinctive moves to take charge of decision making. They will be content to abide by the Fourteen’s decisions as long as they are fair, reasonable and made after some measure of consultation. In most instances a Fourteen will abide by this expectation except when there is need to make a snap decision.

A Twenty-Six is by no means without the ability to make firm and correct decisions. The difference between the two is, on the one hand, the Fourteen’s ability to make quick decisions and natural urge to lead, give orders and exercise discipline. On the other hand, there is the Twenty-Six’s need to deliberate before making firm decisions. In addition, planning, organisation, system and regularity govern their lives. Anything that is contrary to this way of living is not welcome. Being a fundamental Eight personality, their natural instinct is to run things from an executive position. This tendency should not clash with the Fourteen’s intentions to lead as the outer features of the Twenty-Six are governed by the 2 and 6 vibrations. These are cooperative forces and those influenced by them do not enforce their authority or desires on others by direct means. They are usually good role models who lead by example. They are natural teachers, coaches, parents and guardians who use diplomacy and tact to influence others to their ways of doing things. The methodical ways of the Twenty-Six will ensure that this partner has a greater say in the day-to-day running of domestic affairs.

The three even numbers or receptive vibrations forming the integral personality of the Twenty-Six favour bonding. Consequently, the Twenty-Six adapts easily to the needs of their partners, children and other family members. They can bridge the generation gap and relate easily to young and old. The two odd numbers or active vibrations in the Fourteen are strongly inclined towards individualism and competition. Personal desires may clash with the needs of family. Interdependence and independence distinguish the Twenty-Six and Fourteen. However, the 4 vibration in the Fourteen may, in this position, swing towards the competitive nature of the 1 and 5 or turn these forces towards domestic attachment to some extent. The background of the individual will influence the way Four qualities are used.

Positive attitudes in thought and action arise naturally in a Fourteen, but a Twenty-Six may need to overcome certain negative feelings of inadequacy. A negative imprint from adverse environmental conditions will not remain long in a Fourteen but may take some time to overcome in a Twenty-Six. However, a Twenty-Six with the 1 vibration in the birth month or as the Destiny number (total of birth date) will do so sooner than any other. Negativity in this respect generally takes the form of unnecessary fear, hesitation and underestimation of personal assets. It is not a form of negativity that is directly harmful to others. It merely has the effect of slowing the progress of the individual.

As conscientious and competent providers Fourteens are seldom equalled. They may engage in either business or the professions with no need to place limits on their ambitions. Time spent on domestic responsibilities may be limited but this will not disadvantage the partnership as the Twenty-Six will undertake more than an equal share of these duties. The Twenty-Six too, in addition to the skills needed to raise a family and run a domestic establishment, has a considerable variety of options in business and the professions. Without much effort they pattern their lives to establish a balance between public and private life. They are best suited for the teaching and medical professions, or in any business connected with these occupations. In addition they are naturally attracted to business dealing with food, household products and accommodation. While a Fourteen may concentrate more on their public duties, a Twenty-Six, as mentioned before, will not devote time to their public duties at the expense of domestic care. For those Twenty-Sixes who do not work full-time, home and community will be the centre of their activity. If a choice has to be made between public and domestic life the latter will always take precedence.

Both Fourteens and Twenty-Sixes may be regarded as fairly conservative in their social attitudes. Fourteens prefer to spend more time in sport and other practical functions than in social entertainment. Interaction with others on a social level is usually incidental to these activities. They are by no means introverted or anti-social but expenditure of physical and creative energy gives them greater pleasure than self-expression at a social level. The Twenty-Six, on the other hand, is an individual with good social skills. Social life is essential to their wellbeing. With a talent for giving and receive cooperation they are popular hosts and welcome guests. They are more sensitive than the Fourteen to the opinions and sensibilities of others. Most Twenty-Sixes do not seek the centre of attention and at the same time do not find it difficult to make new acquaintances or take the initiative in approaching strangers. Despite their friendly nature they are cautious in their choice of intimate friends who will be invariably chosen from the more genteel sections of society. Fourteens, on the other hand, do not see the outside world as much of a threat as do their peaceful Twenty-Six partners. They are able to handle a greater variety of personality types and unpleasant experiences without much adverse reaction. By and large, Fourteens and Twenty-Sixes combine happily in their social activities.

As Fourteens are individuals who prefer action to speech their conversation will be limited to physical projects in which they may be involved at any given time. It could also be one-sided because Fourteens are poor listeners who prefer to talk about their own affairs rather than listen with appreciation and empathy to the affairs of others, whether entertaining or not. Practical help can be expected from a Fourteen but not a patient hearing or counselling. Twenty-Sixes are quite different to the Fourteen in this respect. They are also natural conversationalists. While Fourteens do not usually encourage others to speak about themselves Twenty-Sixes do so willingly. They can adapt comfortably to various roles as onlookers, listeners, active contributors to conversation and as advisers. As their egos are not as forceful they do not feel the urge to constantly introduce their personal affairs into conversation. Objectivity comes easier to a Twenty-Six. A good balance is seen between their genuine interest in what others have to say and what they would like to say about themselves in response. There is a definitive quality about the Fourteen’s speech that does not invite challenge or argument. Twenty-Sixes are usually soft spoken but their manner could change to authoritative delivery when they need to emphasise a point of view. They are much more open to examination and discussion of controversial matters. Not only are they likely to initiate conversation and engage in a variety of impersonal topics they are also likely to make the first overtures towards peacemaking after any misunderstanding or dispute arising from heated debate. In an argument between these partners the Twenty-Six can give ground without losing their sense of dignity, but a Fourteen may feel injured when made to retreat by a Twenty Six’s objective reasoning powers.

The physical orientation of the Fourteen has a direct bearing on the recreational activities taken up by these individuals. They are naturally competitive and physically courageous people who are attracted to all types of sport that call for physical strength, endurance, competitiveness and elements of danger. Demonstration of personal prowess is essential to all Fourteens. They need to prove themselves against all forms of opposition. The Twenty-Six does not feel the same urgent need to compete, to triumph over competitors or display physical stills. They are attracted to games and other pastimes that promote a team spirit. As they do not view life as a competitive exercise participation is often more desirable than winning. While Fourteens gain gratification in physical activity Twenty-Sixes extend their pastimes into community projects. As social conscience is active in these individuals they are often found serving as volunteers. Fourteens are skilled handypersons who are quite generous with their practical skills. Although their feelings towards community needs may not be as keen they would willingly contribute their ample manual skills when requested by their Twenty-Six partners. Good teamwork can develop naturally between these partners; the Twenty-Six working in public relations and the Fourteen as a bulwark in the background. These positions are by no means fixed. They can be reversed when the occasion demands. In home entertainment for instance, the Twenty-Six could spend time preparing meals while Fourteens entertain. A keen appreciation of literature, music, and all types of dance and drama will be included in the Twenty-Six’s fund of activity. A keen interest in cooking will be taken up at some time or other, either professionally or as popular domestic cooks. Fourteens who are invariably healthy eaters will not be without appreciation of this talent in the Twenty-Six.

Good money management is a talent shared by both partners. Less worry and more self-confidence will be shown by the Fourteen in regard to their ongoing financial position. The Twenty-Six may be inclined to worry about the adequacy or a possible downturn of their finances. While the earning powers of both are relatively the same the Fourteen will spend more time and energy in the pursuit of wealth. The process of money-making is more agreeable to their temperament. Twenty-Sixes, while seeking the good things of life at a reasonable pace, are also able to sit back and enjoy the portion of wealth that has fallen to their lot. Money matters which often cause dissension in relationships should not be a problem between these partners. They could easily agree to an equal say in spending and saving.

In most instances the stronger the ego the more difficult it is to demonstrate love in intimate ways. The Fourteen has a strong ego and despite the fact that they are loyal, protective and stalwart partners and parents demonstration of affection and love is limited. The lovable nature of the Twenty-Six is much more apparent as their ego is less forceful. There is a more accessible centre of warmth in this personality which helps them forget themselves in devotion to their loved ones. While self-sufficiency in the Fourteen makes them less dependent on close association with their partners, the companionable and affectionate traits in the Twenty-Six create the need for a much closer contact which could even border on possessiveness. A Fourteen will not feel neglected when a Twenty-Six is engaged in matters unrelated to their personal welfare but a Twenty-Six may suffer from feelings of neglect. Family loyalty is essential to the wellbeing of both partners but proximity of its members is more important to the Twenty-Six. The positive nature of the Fourteen does not permit the entry of negative thoughts or despondent periods. There is a possibility the Twenty-Six will entertain feelings of despondency for unaccountable reasons. Despite certain differences in temperament this is a partnership that has all the seeds of success. They will live life heartily but live it with a degree of restraint. The desire and capacity to create a good life will be a concerted effort. There are not many features in one that could negatively affect the other. Neither is inclined to extremes in speech or action, nor do they favour unplanned activity. Both reveal reasonable and predictable patterns of behaviour in most circumstances.

14TH AND 27TH BIRTHDAYS

An obvious feature of this birthday combination is the medley of numbers or vibrations. This invariably creates an excess of differences over similarities.

As the personality structures of Fourteens and Twenty-Sevens do not contain a single corresponding vibratory force it will be necessary to look to the birth month in order to find some degree of congruity. However, regardless of any degree of similarity offered by the birth month Fourteens and Twenty-Sevens may be regarded as opposite personality types.

In general, whilst people are attracted to one another on the basis of similarity of temperament and shared interests, they are also attracted to each other on the basis of their opposite features. The latter condition is usually the situation with individuals having a strong sense of curiosity, boldness and willingness to meet new experiences, and who do not hesitate to seek qualities in others which may be inadequate or lacking in themselves. This is usually a subconscious process and such is likely to be the position between Fourteens and Twenty-Sevens. Neither of the pair will be disappointed when they venture into a relationship. Although their basic temperaments will remain unchanged their interaction will result in the amalgamation of an enormous quantity of talent and the broadening of perspectives. This fortunate outcome cannot, however, be taken for granted. Success will depend on tolerance and the degree each is prepared to open out to the other. The need to exercise tolerance will be considerably lessened and replaced with admiration once the wealth of skills and personal qualities each contributes is revealed and experienced.

The Fourteen is essentially a physically oriented personality. The 1 and 4 vibrations are the two strongest physical forces and these have a firm grip on the integral personality. Their attributes work in conjunction providing an enviable combination of mental and manual creativity. The 1 creates the thinker and its nature is to originate and draw up blueprints while the 4 is the builder and its nature is to follow up the 1‘s conceptions putting them into physical form. Inventiveness and manual dexterity work hand in hand. The fundamental 5 aspect of the Fourteen (1 + 4 = 5) is irresistibly attracted to all that is represented by the 1 and 4. Although functioning from the emotional plane the 5 vibration is a flexible force with qualities that can be directed into all planes of expression. All positive 5 qualities such as physical courage, versatility, curiosity, willingness to meet change, alertness and a strong sense of adventure merge comfortably with the 1 and 4. The 1 and 4 aspects are inclined towards conformity and conventional attitudes but the 5 helps the individual open out into new experimental and enterprising ventures. In addition, these vibratory forces work in conjunction to produce positive qualities of confidence, self-esteem, individuality, leadership, decision, practicality and down-to-earth values. They make the Fourteen an extrovert thinker and performer concerned with facts and figures. As they do not accept anything they cannot see, hear or touch it will not be easy to make them accept esoteric matters unrelated to the physical world. In all practical matters a Fourteen is totally reliable and would expect to play a leading role in all mundane affairs. They can never function adequately or contentedly as subordinates or followers. A position in an equal partnership will depend largely on the nature of their partners.

The integral personality of the Twenty-Seven offers far-reaching perspectives as it embraces the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual realms. The totality of their potential is not easily grasped by younger Twenty-Sevens nor is it understood by those closely associated with mature Twenty-Sevens. The qualities of the four planes of existence represented in their integral personality are not in equal proportion. Those of the spiritual plane outnumber the others. The 7 and 9 vibrations are the strongest spiritual forces symbolised by the single digits. Only the master numbers 11 and 22 would experience deeper spiritual insights. However, as in the case of the Twenty-Seven (2 + 7 = 9) the combination of the 7 and 9 in a single individual creates an overpowering pull towards the philosophical, religious, metaphysical and abstract realms. Qualities of the 2 vibration are also attracted to these forces. People under the influence of the 2 are the most sensitive to psychic forces. Their sensitivity to the psychic world in conjunction with the intuitive depths of the 7 and 9 create the urge and the capacity to probe into matters beyond the five senses. The 2 and 7 are also reserved, sometimes shy and almost introverted forces whose subjects acquire abstract knowledge for personal advancement. They do not broadcast their knowledge, achievements or beliefs. This is not a form of self-centredness but merely a reluctance to advertise themselves and occupy prominent positions. These are individuals who are able to close in when they feel like it and open out when the occasion demands. In ideal conditions they reveal their real selves when approached by like-minded people. However, this reticent outer aspect of the Twenty-Seven is stimulated and brought to the forefront by their fundamental 9 aspect. The 9 vibration is an extroverted force that has an irresistible urge to communicate and interact with every level of society. What the 2 and 7 aspect have ascertained through investigation and established as relative facts, the 9 aspect carries as a message to the world at large. The Twenty-Seven personality is, as a consequence, a fine combination of student and teacher.

A Twenty-Seven has no desire to rule, organise, influence or direct the lives of others. Privacy, freedom, independence and equality are conditions they contribute and expect in return when they enter into any form of association. A Fourteen is certain to assume a controlling role at the early stages of their relationship but this will soon be curtailed when they gradually realise that the Twenty-Seven has elusive depths of personality that cannot be grasped or brought under control. As the Fourteen’s personality traits are more apparent the Twenty-Seven does not have to use their penetrating insight into human nature in order to understand them. All they need to do is use their natural wisdom to overlook a Fourteen’s instinctive urge to assume a role of decision maker. As extroverted thinkers concerned with utilitarian and functional objects Fourteens invariably have more to do with the material needs of the household. The introspective mind of the Twenty-Seven, being more interested in probing into the reasons behind events, human behaviour and life in general, will be content to allow the Fourteen a greater say in domestic business. In all personal matters relating to members of the family the Twenty-Seven will assume a more prominent role as a teacher, counsellor and dispenser of wisdom. Their advice will not be confined to the family circle but will also be sought after by those suffering from emotional pain and other personal problems. Fourteens will be approached for practical help which will be given with equal willingness. While intolerance or impatience may be shown by a Fourteen towards those who suffer from various forms of insecurity, sympathy and understanding will be shown by the Twenty-Seven. Anxieties and other psychological complexities which may be unacceptable to the practical Fourteen will be clear and understandable to the discerning Twenty-Seven. Diagnostic ability is one of the Twenty-Seven’s strong points. By the same token a Fourteen could instantly rectify a physical defect which may seem baffling to the less practical Twenty-Seven. Fourteens come into their own in all aspects of life that call for enforcement of discipline and rigorous training. These talents are best displayed as senior non-commissioned officers in the Armed Forces, as police officers, prison guards, security officers and fire fighters. They are also builders, surveyors and engineers. Those in the medical profession make excellent surgeons. The academic mentality of all Twenty-Sevens finds best expression in professional life. Having a close affinity with nature many Twenty-Sevens make natural zoologists, botanists, forest rangers, archaeologists, and any profession to do with animal welfare and environmental protection.

An active and extensive social life is not essential to the wellbeing of these partners. They are not types who surrender their identity in exchange for a new form of identity connected to a group, sect or other similar organisation. Both maintain their individuality in all circumstances. This is one feature they have in common. Generally, they are more comfortable moving among people than in front of them. But when the occasion demands they could occupy a prominent position with confidence. Selection of friends and acquaintances may not be from the same sections of society. Following their physically oriented and practical nature Fourteens are most comfortable among those with similar interests while Twenty-Sevens with their academic temperament gravitate towards those interested in the cultural and spiritual aspects of life. Coexistence of different preferences between these partners should not lead to separation in social activity. The very fact that they have different interests is what gives them value and attraction as a team. It takes away the need or the temptation to compete with each other or work at cross-purposes. While the part they play in ordinary social circles will be generally low-key an active role will be taken when they participate in work groups or study groups devoted to their specialised skills.

The Fourteen’s voice could be loud and commanding and their points of view clear and definitive. They are not always willing to listen to anything beyond their own opinions. As they are people of action rather than words they are not easily drawn into argument or prolonged discussions. They would rather be left alone to get on with a job. However, arguments may arise at times when a Twenty-Seven partner introduces speculative issues. Fourteens generally confine their attention to effects but Twenty-Sevens need to ascertain the causes behind effects, and consequently take a longer time to act. Fourteens go directly to the point in any matter and their opinions are often predictable and seldom subject to change. A Twenty-Seven is prepared to consider more aspects and angles to a matter and their opinions which are not always predictable are open to alteration. Fourteens speak with a ring of authority and knowledge of worldly affairs which demands the attention of an audience. Twenty-Sevens, when they choose to speak out, unconsciously assume a dignified stance and project an aura of wisdom which captures the attention of an audience.

The strong competitive spirit within the Fourteen cannot be held in check. It is given free expression in all their recreational activities. Being physically fit and courageous individuals they are drawn to all popular sports as well as unusual ones such as mountain climbing, sky diving or anything through which they confront the forces of nature. They also excel in all body contact sports such as boxing, wrestling and football. Release of tensions built up during working hours is found in physical exertion rather than in social or mental outlets. Twenty-Sevens, on the other hand, do not feel the same compulsive urge to compete, to triumph over others or challenge the forces of nature. They would rather work and play alongside others and commune with the forces of nature. Their recreational time will be shared between mental and physical activities. Release from pressures of life is found in two very individualistic ways. All Twenty-Sevens in the course of time assemble a library of books and music to which they withdraw from time to time. Always moved by inspiring thoughts and messages they are invariably involved in collecting, reading, writing, investigating and contemplating on esoteric matters. A scrapbook of esoteric thought and sayings is often maintained by most Twenty-Sevens. Many are found in the business of buying and selling books with a special interest in antiquarian literature. On the physical side they find themselves completely at ease in the silence as well as the music of natural surroundings. During their periods of relaxation they can happily remain alone without being lonely. They are natural gardeners. This is an area of domestic life in which Fourteens and Twenty-Sevens can combine. The Fourteen will be willing to perform all tasks that require physical exertion and the general layout of a garden while their partners attend to the artistic and more delicate tasks. Travel off the beaten path will appeal to both with a shared interest in the physical features of the planet. Twenty-Sevens become spellbound when placed inside ancient places of worship, old buildings, ancient and neglected gardens or any spot with a known or unknown history. Their fascination with age and antiquity may not be shared by the practical Fourteen but is certain to have some influence upon them. The Fourteen’s interest is in the present with the latest inventions in machinery, engineering, electronics and architecture. Their minds instantly take in the utility value of an item or situation with the capacity to turn anything to their advantage. They are also quick to observe flaws and point them out and correct them. Twenty-Sevens possess a deeper insight into the behaviour of people. They also possess an appreciation of the good things of life and a desire to share them with others. If they observe flaws in the speech or actions of others they are much more discreet in their reactions. It will be most uncharacteristic of a Twenty-Seven to firmly declare an opinion that could evoke hurtful feelings in others. Fourteens may do so at times, especially when they attempt to organise things to suit themselves.

The Fourteen is likely to take over management of financial matters. They value money for the security it offers, for opportunities it provides, and for an affluent lifestyle. They are cost-conscious people who demand value for their money. Indiscriminate or impulsive spending is not a usual practice but they could spend lavishly on certain occasions. They are quite generous when they spend on themselves but not as much when they need to spend on others. The Twenty-Seven is not interested in money for its own sake. With a sense of detachment they use money as a means to an end and spend without too much concern for value or cost. Money and material possessions cease to be the focus of their life as they grow older. However, if a certain amount of conflict does arise in some Twenty-Sevens with regard to adequate financial security this concern will not be necessary with a Fourteen partner.

The basic difference between these partners is awareness; one being highly sensitive to the physical world, and the other to higher levels of awareness beyond the physical. These partners will soon acknowledge that their ideas and assessments are neither right nor wrong. Rather, they are simply different. The versatility of the Fourteen will be a source of perennial comfort to the Twenty-Seven, while the Twenty-Seven’s intuitive depths will often startle and impress the Fourteen. Both suffer from some degree of conflict between rigidity in emotional expression and spontaneous demonstration of sentiment. Extrovert and spontaneous features of the 5 aspect in the Fourteen are kept in check by the undemonstrative nature of the 1 and 4. On the other hand, the combination of the 1, 4, and 5 vibrations greatly enhances their sexuality. Physical expression is much more prominent than sentimental and romantic ways. Twenty-Sevens are able to meet all the Fourteen’s physical needs, but proper times and locations need to be chosen for all physical encounters. Romance and the need for privacy are essential aspects of the Twenty-Seven’s sexuality.

14TH AND 28TH BIRTHDAYS

The numbers 1 and 4 placed alongside the numbers 2 and 8 may at first glance indicate the formation of different personality types. But the truth is that in this combination similarities outnumber dissimilarities; neither are there any complementary features to speak of.

In general, similar personality types, especially those of a placid and peaceful nature easily form comfortable and happy relationships based on cooperation, companionship and the capacity to enjoy the simple as well as profound things of life. The lifestyle of such couples, while not being dynamic and adventuresome, will certainly remain intimate and harmonious. On the other hand, individuals who are decisive, assertive and self-sufficient and with strong egos are headed towards competition and confrontation, and often working at cross-purposes. This is a situation that is likely to develop early in a relationship between Fourteen and Twenty-Eight partners. Being too much alike in many ways their interaction will evoke the combative elements within each. This will be in direct contrast to their protective and caring qualities which emerge in a relationship with non-assertive types who will be content to play secondary or supporting roles. The birth month may mitigate some of the emphatic and often aggressive ways, especially in those born in the 2nd and 6th months, but their essentially authoritative nature will remain unchanged.

The Fourteen does not have much to give that the Twenty-Eight does not already possess; nor does the Twenty-Eight own qualities lacking in a Fourteen. Most things one can do the other can also do with almost equal efficiency. These are, nevertheless, not identical personalities. There are variations in the degree and intensity of their similarities. With a tendency to disregard or overrule the decisions of others the Fourteen will insist on organising things their own way and the Twenty-Eight will do likewise. This will be the major obstacle to be overcome. The strange situation here is that their methods are not too different as both are systematic and organised people. Their problem is an inability to submit or accommodate to a system prepared by another. Consultation and compromise are not natural features. As long as their reluctance to give in remains unchanged two good and resourceful people are prevented from working together for mutual advantage. As contestants on any issue neither will be prepared to give ground until the practical side in each sees the futility of disagreement. The Twenty-Eight is more likely to arrive earlier at this realisation. Experience of loss as a result of stubbornness will eventually force them to recognise that a partnership of responsible equals is their best option. When they begin thinking and acting as a couple the united front they form will be immensely stronger than action taken individually. The measure of their success will be the experience that their individuality is not diminished by compromise, but enriched and expanded.

The personality of the Fourteen is a fine balance between conservatism and modern ways of thought and action. Conservatism emerges from their 4 aspect and modernity from the 5. The force that combines the two with the motive power and clear direction to go ahead with their ambitions is the energetic 1 aspect. It consolidates all the positive 4 and 5 qualities while adding positive features of its own, such as self-confidence, self-esteem, self-sufficiency, ambition and leadership. As resourceful, trustworthy and conscientious individuals Fourteens can be relied upon to perform any task assigned to them or fulfil any commitment undertaken. All facets of the physical plane are amply represented in this personality. Fourteens are found among the most successful, construction engineers, architects, surveyors, farmers, geologists, miners and archaeologists. They also excel in the protective services as police officers, military officers, prison guards and fire fighters. Devotion to their chosen profession may often exceed time spent in domestic affairs. The upkeep and improvements around the house and garden will be willingly undertaken by them but there may be delays in completing many tasks that need doing.

In the matter of organisation, administration and executive authority the Twenty-Eight may be regarded as an escalation of the Fourteen’s powers. As a fundamental One personality (2 + 8 = 10 = 1) the Twenty-Eight contains all the positive qualities of the 1 vibration which enhance those of the 2 and 8 which form their outer personality. Their 8 aspect contains the disciplinary, methodical and hardworking habits of the 4 yet it also carries those influenced by it into wider and higher areas of expression. Ambitions of anyone influenced by the 8 are stronger and more extensive that those influenced by a 4. Although the Twenty-Eight is not without practical ability and manual talents their best achievements are in public life as administrators, accountants, bankers, manufacturers, town planners or any senior position in which their talent for organisation, motivation and a rare ability to obtain the best out of subordinates can be given free rein. Success in public life should not elude any Twenty-Eight, however, with success comes problems which may affect their family life. Similarly to a Fourteen they could turn into workaholics at the expense of family togetherness. Although it will not be easy, all Twenty-Eights should take great care to separate business concerns, whether good or bad, from family affairs.

The success of this relationship will be in direct proportion to the quality time these partners spend together. Although both may unknowingly do so, personal needs should not be given a higher priority to mutual obligations and family life. An atmosphere of ‘Yours’ and ‘Mine’ should be changed to one of ‘Us’ and ‘Ours’. These are not irresponsible individuals but their problem is that they are not particularly family and home oriented. Despite the fact that both are oriented towards public life they also need and expect a stable and well ordered home base. They may need to employ someone else to undertake this task. A real effort needs to be made to divide time fairly between public duties, family responsibilities and individual hobbies.

Fourteens have greater control over their emotions. The 1 and 4 aspects are undemonstrative, except in the occasional display of anger and intolerance. They may not be visibly sentimental or romantic but there is no doubt about their controlled emotions and sexual prowess. The 1, 4 and 5 vibrations (1 + 4 = 5) are among the most powerful sex forces. Twenty-Eights are much more sensitive to all manner of things, especially in the way others behave towards them. Their emotional reactions are swift and long lasting. Their outer personality is conditioned by the 2 and 8 vibrations from the emotional plane. Many Twenty-Eights hide their sensitivity and vulnerable side under a stern or blunt exterior. In family matters they are much more likely to surrender to sentimental impulses and indulge their loved ones with whatever they desire. On the physical side Fourteens and Twenty-Eights are compatible partners. Twenty-Eights, however, may not be as readily available for lovemaking due to their preoccupation with their public activities or due to a carryover of problems from public life.

The social needs of these partners are relatively the same. Although both are sensibly extroverted, neither one nor the other is dependent on social intercourse for their wellbeing. Both enter and participate in social circles on their own terms. They influence others and contribute in positive ways rather than subject themselves to the uncertain and changing norms of society. They are generally conservative and slow to make new acquaintances. Their evaluations of persons and situations are made on the basis of mutual exchange of practical benefits rather than frivolous entertainment. At the same time it would be mutually beneficial if they break away occasionally from attention to practicalities, and instead indulge in some form of frivolity.

Fluency of speech and conversational skills are not outstanding assets in either of the pair. They may be rich in knowledge of worldly affairs but not greatly articulate in expressing themselves. However, this difficulty is instantly overcome when they choose to lecture on their specialised fields. They do not waste words by indulging in flowery language, exaggerations or deviations. Their own opinions are held as more important than those of others. As a consequence, both are inattentive listeners. They could be quite stubborn on points they believe to be right. Occasional heated confrontation between the two can be expected.

As both partners are likely to immerse themselves too much in their public duties loss of impartial judgment on personal and domestic matters could be an inevitable result. They should endeavour to find company and choose recreational outlets unrelated to their business life, and thereby create a balance. Regular holidays away from home will tighten bonds that may have been strained or loosened during busy working days. Rekindled intimacy will give them the time and willingness to talk of things that were overlooked or repressed during the pressures of the work environment. This could also be a situation in which experiences are shared and decisions are made mutually because the need for offensive and defensive measures will not exist. Fourteens take to private hobbies in which their manual skills are put to full use. Many of these hobbies will be home based in a workshop which will be their special preserve. Following their administrative and motivational skills Twenty-Eights often take up positions as coaches, referees, administrators and accountants in clubs, fellowships and similar organisations. A clear-cut division of personal interests will not take place. The manual skills of the Twenty-Eight are not insignificant nor are the instructive and organisational skills of the Fourteen much less. They merely follow the major flow of their mental and physical energies. Mutual help can be expected and will be willingly given.

Both partners possess good business sense and are equally capable of handling private and public money responsibly. They avoid gambling and speculation and insist upon carefully looking into any scheme involving expenditure or investment. The acquisitive instinct is strong in both and their central object in life could very well be the accumulation of material wealth. In a business partnership a clear division of responsibility will be needed to avoid a clash of ideas. This will also be desirable in domestic financial matters.

Positive minds attract corresponding thought waves. As this likely to be the situation in this relationship these partners have the option of listening to each other’s ideas, evaluating them and joining forces, or remaining hostile or competitive to ideas that do not emerge from themselves. If the former course is adopted through concerted effort all their ambitions for worldly success will be fulfilled beyond their expectations. The latter course could be the instinctive one as the stronger the ego the less the degree of receptivity; and these are strong egos. Their task will be to act as objectively as possible to overcome personal characteristics that will hinder cooperative action. Both possess the willpower and commonsense to see that a relationship of equals working together would be better than a relationship of rivals working at cross-purposes.

14TH AND 29TH BIRTHDAYS

14th and 29th birthdays form a combination of numbers or vibrations that cover all aspects of life, with each birthday contributing a distinct set of qualities. In human application it is left to be seen whether persons with these birthdays succeed in enjoying a happy and prosperous relationship. Fourteen and Twenty-Nine personalities are so different in temperament and skills and in their general outlook on life that success will depend on the effort each makes to understand and appreciate the other. Opposites may be attracted to each other but sooner or later adjustments have to be made to recognise and make positive use of their differences.

The Fourteen will be found to have more fixations that need to be loosened before they can reach out to a Twenty-Nine. This task may not be easy as the Twenty-Nine is a rather complicated personality with many features that could be perplexing to the more straightforward Fourteen. Besides, the Fourteen’s ego is assertive, acquisitive and less inclined towards cooperative living. There could be more taking than giving in the case of a Fourteen. These individuals need to take charge of situations and circumstances in which they find themselves. Their levels of tolerance are much less than those of a Twenty-Nine who finds it much easier to agree to disagree rather than insist on their own ideas being accepted. There is more giving than taking in the temperament of the Twenty-Nine. They are free souls who enjoy companionship without feeling the need to organise or control the life of a partner or any other, nor do they surrender any part of their individuality. They expect to be given the same trust and freedom they allow others. While Fourteens will be reluctant to subdue an urge to take control over most matters a Twenty-Nine will naturally expect their relationship to be one in which two free, resourceful and loving individuals work together for their common good. Twenty-Nines could be assertive in some situations, cooperative in others and often quite compliant in some situations. Their assertiveness emerges when they encounter selfishness, unfairness and arbitrary behaviour. They are most assertive when their individuality and freedom are unfairly restricted. A Fourteen cannot make the mistake of assuming they own a Twenty-Nine because these partners cannot be possessed. Their vast capacity to express love, generosity and compassion can only flourish in conditions of personal freedom. Their compassionate nature is extended without diminution well beyond their own family circle. As Twenty-Nines cannot change or restrict their wide horizons, Fourteens who expect undivided attention from them will need to make considerable adjustments.

The Fourteen has a well-knit personality structure operating mainly on the physical plane. They are dependable and ample providers with a down-to-earth and practical approach to life. Some characteristics common to all Fourteens are self-confidence, self-sufficiency, persistence, willpower, commonsense, manual dexterity, leadership and decision. With a creative imagination as opposed to one that is contemplative their considerable mental faculties are applied to the objective world of form. They are assertive in most situations and even aggressive in some. They are not easy to get along with unless their views are shared and their directions followed. They expect a partner to be submissive but not of weak character. This is an unrealistic expectation which cannot be applied to a Twenty-Nine or anyone else for that matter. They could also react explosively if a partner challenges or overrides their decisions. This will not happen with a Twenty-Nine whose considerable discriminating powers will deter them from unnecessary opposition.

Many material things valuable to a Fourteen may be of little importance to a Twenty-Nine. Pragmatic Fourteens, therefore, find the enigmatic nature of the Twenty-Nine hard to comprehend. The master vibration 11 strongly influences the Twenty-Nine personality (2 + 9 = 11) and these higher levels of awareness enable them to transcend many mundane issues important to the Fourteen. This is another condition Fourteens will need to adjust to. A Fourteen partner who expects a Twenty-Nine to think and act as they do will soon realise the futility of their expectation. While Fourteens align themselves to the physical and practical aspects of life Twenty-Nines, for the most part, are attracted to mental, sentimental, metaphysical and humanitarian aspects. While depending on others such as a Fourteen for most of their practical needs their contemplative and studious temperament is geared towards advancement in cultural and spiritual matters. People seeking to understand life’s purpose and their position in the scheme of things are irresistibly drawn to the company of a Twenty-Nine. These individuals do not seek to take charge of people or situations. In partnership with a Fourteen they will not contest the Fourteen’s decisions and directions as long as they do not cause distress to themselves or others.

Both Fourteens and Twenty-Nines are motivated by the desire to set up and maintain an affluent lifestyle, each according to their respective natures. A combination of the two will certainly result in an exceptionally rich union. This is a condition that can be achieved despite initial differences and understandings. The Fourteen may take a longer time to accept the Twenty-Nine’s wider perspectives, but when they succeed in doing so they will find that they enrich their own outlook on life without surrender of any portion of their individuality. Their task will be made easy as the Twenty-Nine’s policy is not to directly interfere with the individuality of another. Coercive methods being alien to their nature they lead and influence others by example. Patience, forgiveness and wisdom are the guiding forces within the Twenty-Nine. They find it easier to understand and appreciate the value of their versatile Fourteen partners and do not demand anything the Fourteen is not prepared to give willingly. Twenty-Nines possess a more sensitive nature. Their emotions are not always under control. Outbursts of joy, anger or sorrow are frequent. More highs and lows are experienced by them than most others. Their feelings are easily hurt but they forgive and forget just as easily. They do not bear grudges or entertain any desire for revengeful speech or action. They feel keenly the sufferings of others including the suffering of animals. Twenty-Nines who become vegetarians do so usually through the abhorrence of the killing of animals, whereas Fourteens who turn to a vegetarian diet would usually do so for reasons of health. Fourteens may find many of the Twenty-Nine’s sentimental reactions and emotional demonstrations difficult to accept while also realising that they cannot be prevented. Fourteens have their emotions under control. Their sensitivity does not convert to sentimentality. Demonstrations of joy and sorrow are never excessive or even observable most of the time. But the occasional bursts of anger or intolerant reactions may be quite evident. A rare quality both partners possess is resilience. Both are able to handle hard knocks in life and make a quick come back. Twenty-Nines would make quite a flutter and embellishment of circumstances but they are not to be taken too seriously. They enjoy being fussed over in times of trouble. The Fourteen’s reaction to adversity is to act on their own and face their problems head-on. They adjust to change as quickly and effectively as possible.

In a social scene both partners will be known for their approachability and availability. However, the Twenty-Nine will be the more communicative individual. People turn to a Fourteen when in need of practical help and are not disappointed, However, the Fourteen’s generosity cannot be exploited as they quickly detect and withdraw their help as soon as they find that they are being used by people who do not care to help themselves. Twenty-Nines often attract those who seem to have lost their way in life and are in need of direction mentally and spiritually. They do not discriminate between those who come to them, and so could be taken advantage of by selfish and self-centred people. A Fourteen’s natural choice would be to associate with individuals, groups, and clubs that participate in sport and other physical activities. Participation in a particular activity takes precedence over interaction with people on a personal level. Their range of friends and acquaintances will not be as extensive as that of a Twenty-Nine who uses an unrestricted range of friends and associates. Their cultural and spiritual interests cover all matters relating to parapsychology, mysticism and humanitarian interests. Fourteens and Twenty-Nines do possess a common interest in natural science. As keen environmentalists they can work together on the same projects. Most Fourteens, given the right circumstances, look towards profit and the functional aspects of agriculture, horticulture and mixed farming. Twenty-Nines gain genuine pleasure from the aesthetic aspects of all types of farming. Pragmatic Fourteens do not hesitate to cull animals or trees when they are no longer profitable but Twenty-Nines will keep them regardless of expense as the destruction of any form of life is against their nature. Both partners possess the natural skills to qualify and practice as veterinary surgeons.

In general conversation Fourteens are often impatient listeners and may not qualify as consummate conversationalists. At the same time they are knowledgeable and instructive speakers who capture the attention of an interested audience with authoritative speech and equally authoritative body language. They state their views in a manner that is not open to challenge or argument, and do not take kindly to anyone who may attempt to do so. Their vocal tones are often loud, crisp and affirmative. A Twenty-Nine may not find it necessary to reason with a Fourteen on most practical matters but may often experience difficulty conveying their own views on abstract matters. The Twenty-Nine is a patient and sympathetic listener and an enthusiastic talker. They are without doubt skilful conversationalists, who, with unfeigned interest, take turns talking and listening. Their usually modulated voice has a pleasant tonal quality. Their views are open to discussion. They reach out to their listeners and their listeners reach out to them. Arguments or heated discussions will be few and far between in this partnership as the Twenty-Nine will be the one who will not enter into any sort of protracted exchange of words unless driven by strong personal motivation. They prefer a meaningful discussion of a problem with both sides having an equal say. However, a Twenty-Nine with an emotional number in the birth month can give vent to outbursts of emotion. They calm down just as quickly and get on with their lives, whereas a Fourteen is likely to remember past hurts.

Recreational activities followed by these partners will naturally reflect the physical orientation of the one and the mental/mystical orientation of the other. Fourteens need physical outlets in order to maintain healthy minds and bodies. Twenty-Nines, on the other hand, require mental and inspirational outlets. This is their general attitude although this does not infer that an exchange of their levels of interest cannot take place. The Fourteen’s recreational time will be divided broadly between sport and private hobbies in which their mental creativity is combined with their manual skills. They can be depended upon to undertake all domestic tasks that need repair, maintenance and improvement. Those who take to gardening are usually vegetable and fruit growers. The sports they choose are those which call for physical strength, quick reflexes, daring and a spirit of adventure. It may not be easy for a Fourteen to persuade a Twenty-Nine partner to join them in some of their more rigorous and dangerous activities. Twenty-Nines need some private time and personal space for contemplative and meditative pleasures. While Fourteens may have a workshop Twenty-Nines may have a meditation room. Being perennial students and teachers Twenty-Nines spend more time indoors. Literature and music and involvement in study groups will be active features. They may find it difficult but not impossible to influence their Fourteen partners to join them in some of their studies in self-development. Those Twenty-Nines who are gardeners (and most of them are) enjoy beautification and relaxation within their gardens rather than profit.

These partners do not share the same capacity to handle money, although they are equally capable of providing a good income. Fourteens can work in any capacity. They can succeed in business or as professionals. Twenty-Nines are not astute business people but they are accomplished professionals. Fourteens excel as money managers. They are astute buyers and cautious spenders and investors. They put their own price tag on all things while Twenty-Nines accept the stated price and find bargaining distasteful. Twenty-Nines are free and impulsive spenders who do not place much value on money for its own sake. While a healthy bank balance is a source of considerable comfort to a Fourteen it does not dominate the thoughts or ambitions of a Twenty-Nine. Management of their finances will be taken up by the Fourteen but occasional differences of opinion are bound to arise when the Twenty-Nine spends their share of income indiscriminately or demands goods the Fourteen does not consider necessary or economical. Twenty-Nines will resent the Fourteen’s attempt to monitor their spending.

Faced with the alternative of making an issue of things or letting go in favour of peace and harmony, the Twenty-Nine will choose the latter. The Fourteen may tend towards the former. In other words, when given the choice of being right or being kind Twenty-Nines choose to be kind and the Fourteens insist on being right. As mentioned at the beginning these partners have the option of acknowledging and using their different personality traits for mutual benefit or living their separate lives in a rather distant relationship. A wise Fourteen will, however, rely on the Twenty-Nine’s level of confidence in intuitive promptings and wide perspectives while a naturally wise Twenty-Nine will certainly acknowledge and appreciate the Fourteen’s level of confidence and ability in all practical matters. In addition, Fourteens will need to adjust to the ebb and flow of the Twenty-Nine’s emotions, especially with those born in the 2nd, 5th, 8th and 9th months. Some Twenty-Nines may feel that they do not receive sufficient sentimental attention from their Fourteen partners. This is an adjustment the Twenty-Nine will need to make as the very strong emotions of the Fourteen are expressed physically and not by romantic speech and delicate touch.

14TH AND 30TH BIRTHDAYS

Please refer to the chapter on the 3rd and 14th birthdays. The Zero in the 3oth day does not add any new features to the personality of those born on the 30th day, nor does it take away any characteristics of the 3 vibration. It may, however, emphasise certain features of this vibration.

14TH AND 31ST BIRTHDAYS

The relationship between a person born on the 14th day and another born on the 31st day will be the same as that between a couple where one is born on the 14th and the other is born on the 13th. It should be noted that the influence of the 3 vibration is slightly stronger in the Thirty-One than in the Thirteen, as it appears first, but this does not make any appreciable difference in their interaction with a Fourteen personality.

The chapter on 14th and 13th birthdays should be consulted.
