Libra Horoscope 2021
If you got through 2018 and 2019 with your health and sanity intact, you’re a hero and deserve to take many bows! This was a real achievement. Last year was much easier than 2019, and the year ahead is easier than 2020. Health and energy are much improved. Pre-existing conditions should be less troublesome. And with that comes more energy to achieve your goals. More on this later.
Your 5th house of fun, children and creativity is very strong this year. You deserve some fun after the past few years that you’ve had, Libra. This is a time to be creative and do things that you enjoy. Libras of childbearing age are more fertile than usual, and a pregnancy wouldn’t be a surprise. More on this later.
Jupiter will make a brief flirtation into your 6th house health and work this year – from May 14 to July 29 and from December 30 onwards. This will bring very happy job opportunities. Next year will also be good for job seekers.
Uranus moved into your 8th house of transformation in March 2019, and he will be there for many more years to come. This shows sexual experimentation. It shows that the spouse, partner or current love is experimental in finances. Those of you of appropriate age are making changes to your wills – multiple changes. More details later.
Pluto has been in your 4th house of home and family for many years – since 2008. He will be there for a few more years. This could have brought deaths in the family and shake-ups in the family unit. This transit is almost over – you have three more years of it – but it seems to me that the worst is over.
Your areas of greatest interest and focus this year will be home and family; children, fun and creativity; health and work; and sex, personal transformation and reinvention, and occult studies.
Your paths of greatest fulfilment will be foreign travel, higher education, religion, theology and philosophy; fun, children and creativity (until May 14 and from July 29 to December 30); and health and work (from May 14 to July 29 and from December 30 onwards).
(Please note that this is an astrological perspective on health and not a medical one. In days of yore there was no difference, both these perspectives were identical. But these days there could be quite a difference. For a medical perspective, please consult your doctor or health practitioner.)
As we mentioned above, health is much improved over previous years. This year there is only one long-term planet – Pluto – in stressful alignment with you. All the others are either in harmony with you or leaving you alone. Of course, there will be periods in the year where health is less easy than usual. These periods come from the transits of the fast-moving planets; they are of brief duration and not trends for the year. When they pass your normal good health and energy return.
Your 6th house of health has been strong for many years, since 2012 when Neptune entered there. This was probably your saving grace in past years. You have been focused on health and this has carried you through. Your 6th house will become even more prominent this year as Jupiter will move in from May 14 to July 29. But since your health is good, be careful about overreacting to any little ache or twinge. It is good to be focused on health, but sometimes good things can be overdone. Chances are there is nothing wrong.
Good though your health is you can make it even better. Give more attention to the following – the vulnerable areas of your Horoscope this year (the reflex points are shown in the chart below):
- Try to massage all of the foot on a regular basis – the top of the foot as well as the bottom – but pay extra attention to the points highlighted on the chart. When you massage, be aware of ‘sore spots’ as these need special attention. It’s also a good idea to massage the ankles and below them.
- The kidneys and hips are always important for Libra. Regular hip massage will not only strengthen the hips, but the kidneys and lower back as well. A herbal kidney cleanse every now and then might be a good idea.
- The feet are also always important for Libra, as Neptune, the planet that rules the feet, is your health planet. So regular foot massage is very beneficial. It will not only strengthen the feet but the entire body as well. Foot massage should be part of your regular health regime.
- The heart became important for your health since Pluto moved into Capricorn – in stressful alignment with you – in 2008. (It will remain important for another few years, too.) Most importantly, avoid worry and anxiety as these tend to stress the heart out, according to many spiritual healers. Cultivate faith. Meditation will help.
- The liver and thighs become prominent from May 14 to July 29, when Jupiter, the planet that rules these areas, moves into your 6th house of health. He will be there next year too. Thighs should be regularly massaged as this will not only strengthen the thighs themselves, but the liver and lower back as well. A herbal liver cleanse might be just the ticket if you’re not feeling 100 per cent.
With Neptune as your health planet, you always respond well to spiritual-healing techniques – meditation, the laying-on of hands, reiki and the manipulation of subtle energies. And ever since Neptune moved into your 6th house in 2012 this tendency is even stronger. If you feel under the weather, see a spiritual healer.
Home and Family
Your 4th house has been prominent for many years and still pretty strong this year – but a little less so than last year. Many of you moved last year. Many of you made renovations in the home. The family circle could have expanded – usually through birth or marriage. As we also mentioned, there could have been deaths in the family since 2008.
Pluto in your 4th house signals several things. You could be doing important renovations in the home – perhaps putting in new plumbing. For many years now you’ve been earning from the home – perhaps from a home office. As Pluto is your money planet, the home is as much a financial centre as it is a home.
You are spending on the home and family, but they are also a source of financial increase. There is good family support and it works both ways. They support you; you support them.
In March last year, your family planet Saturn moved into your 5th house. This would give a few messages too. You are making the home an entertainment centre, setting up home theatres, investing in games, installing basketball hoops (or other kinds of athletic gear) in the home. The home will be full of toys – for adults and/or children. With your family planet in the sign of Aquarius, you’re probably installing high-tech equipment – the latest gadgetry – in the home.
Relations with the family are much improved over the previous few years.
One of the parents or parent figures in your life is prospering and very focused on finance. He or she is having a great financial year. But a move is not likely for either of the parent figures. It will be a stable family year for them.
Siblings or sibling figures can move this year – they are probably thinking about it – but next year seems more likely.
Children and children figures can have multiple moves this year. This has been the trend since 2019. And even if they stay in their present home there will be many upgrades and renovations happening. They seem more temperamental these days: prone to mood swings and erratic emotions. Grandchildren (if you have them) are in a cycle of success (and next year will be more successful than this one), but moves are not likely (although there’s nothing against a move happening, either).
Important renovations can happen throughout the year, but January 1 to January 20 and December 21 to December 31 seem especially good times. If you’re redecorating or buying objects of beauty for the home, January 9 to February 1 and November 5 to December 31 would be good times.
Finance and Career
Neither your 2nd house of finance nor your 10th house of career are prominent this year. Both houses are basically empty, with only short-term planets moving through there – with short-term effects. Though we are schooled to always be ambitious and to always focus on money, the Cosmos doesn’t necessarily agree. Finance and career are just two areas out of twelve – each having equal value cosmically speaking. The Cosmos aims for a balanced development. This year, other areas of life are taking priority.
This lack of focus tends to the status quo. You’re basically content with your finances and career as they are and have no need to give them undue attention. It’s basically good news.
Pluto is your financial planet. He has been in the sign of Capricorn, your 4th house, since 2008 – many years now. This has many good points. It shows a sound, conservative financial judgement. It shows an abhorrence of the ‘quick buck’. Wealth is to be attained methodically, step by step, in safe secure ways. It shows a good feeling for financial management. Good financial management is perhaps just as important as increasing earnings.
You have been in a long-term cycle of setting up – and adhering to – disciplined savings and investment plans, and this trend continues in the year ahead.
With Pluto as the financial planet, tax efficiency is very important. Tax, insurance and estate issues are governing much of your financial decision-making. It is also a good year for estate planning – if you are of appropriate age. Many of you have inherited money during the past 13 years. Many have benefitted from estates and collected insurance payments. These kinds of things can still happen.
With your financial planet in your 4th house for so long, many of you are earning from home, as we’ve mentioned – perhaps a home office or home-based business. Family and family connections are important financially. As we mentioned earlier, you spend on the home and family, but can earn from them as well. Family support is good.
Your financial planet in the 4th house favours residential real estate, the food and restaurant business, hotels, motels and companies that cater to the home-owner. It would also favour psychological therapists. All these trends have been in effect for many years and are still in effect.
Unlike Pluto (which is the slowest moving of all the planets) your career planet, the Moon, is the fastest moving of the planets. It will take Pluto 300 to 400 years (approximately) to move through all the signs and houses of your chart. The Moon will do this every month! So, there are many short-term career trends that depend on where the Moon is and the aspects she receives. These are best dealt with in the monthly reports.
With such a fast-moving planet ruling your career, career opportunities can happen in a variety of ways and through a variety of people.
Love and Social Life
Libra is always interested in love and social activities. For the Libran, this is what life is all about. Relationship is everything. But this year, the focus is less than usual. Your 7th house of love is basically empty. Only short-term planets move through there and their impact is temporary. This tends to the status quo. Singles will tend to stay single and those who are married will tend to stay married. An empty house shows that there is no need to focus overly much on those affairs. One sort of takes the love and social life for granted. There is a sense of contentment. (However, it should be noted that if love problems arise, you might need to give this area more attention. The problem can stem from ignoring things.)
There is some more good news here. Ever since 2019 when Uranus left your 7th house, love has become more stable. Less exciting perhaps, but more stable. (Instability is the price we pay for drama and excitement.)
With your 8th house of sex and transformation very strong this year, this area of life seems active. Singles might not marry, but they are having more sex.
Mars is your love planet. While he moves faster than the long-term planets such as Jupiter and Saturn, he is much slower than the fast-moving planets – the Sun, Moon, Mercury and Venus. He is somewhere in between. During the course of the year he will move through nine signs and houses of your Horoscope. Thus, there are many love trends that depend on where Mars is and the aspects he receives. These trends are best discussed in the monthly reports.
Mars will be ‘out of bounds’ from March 24 to May 23. So, you will be going outside your normal sphere in search of love. Sometimes it shows that the current love is moving outside his or her usual sphere.
Mars as your love planet shows that you are fearless and aggressive when it comes to love. If you like someone, he or she will know it. You are proactive in love. You don’t sit around waiting for the phone to ring. You make things happen. Also, when disappointments happen, you pick yourself up and get back into the fray. In this life you are learning to be courageous in love.
Your spiritual planet, Mercury, is also the ruler of your 9th house of religion, philosophy, theology and higher learning. In general, this would favour investigating the mystical side – the esoteric side – of your native religion. Every religion has its mystical side. Every religion is based on the mystical experiences of its founder and early disciples. So it is good to explore these things. Beneath all the rules, regulations and superstitions – the accretions put on by human minds – lies something pure and beautiful. It is good to delve into this.
Mercury is a fast-moving planet, as our regular readers know. During the course of a year he will move through your entire chart. Thus, spiritual lessons come to you in many ways and through various people. There is no one, correct way to learn. Sometimes the lessons will come in finance, or love, or the career, or in your place of worship. It all depends on where Mercury is and the kinds of aspects he receives.
But the main headline in your spiritual life is spiritual healing. Neptune, the most spiritual of planets, has been in your 6th house of health since 2012 and will be there for many more years. So, you are going deeper, year by year, into the mysteries of spiritual healing – the role of spirit on the physical, emotional and mental bodies. This is really your mission these days. This is the path of spiritual growth.
Spiritual healing is a bit different than mind-body healing (though mind-body is very good). While it is good to treat the mind – to change its thinking from negative to positive – there are certain areas of the mind that can’t be accessed by mind (human mind) alone. The human mind cannot really heal itself – in many cases it is the actual problem. What is needed is a power – an energy – that is above the human mind to come in and heal the problem. It happens first on the mental level, then the feelings are changed and finally the body. It generally proceeds in stages.
Mind controls the body absolutely. And the mind itself was designed to be controlled by spirit. Indeed, if this were to happen, disease would be an impossibility. But humans have the gift of free will and thus spirit is not in complete control of the mind. The seeds of pathology were planted due to the misuse of human free will. So, when this higher power of spirit is invoked, it will start to search the human mind and clear out the fallacies – the mental debris there. Thus, the natural state of health – the way it was originally intended – starts to manifest.
In spiritual healing we acknowledge one source of health and healing – the Divine. Often the Divine will work through instruments – doctors, therapists, surgeons, pills or herbs – but not necessarily. It can act directly on the body without any human intervention. It’s a case-by-case situation. It seems to me that much depends on the person’s belief system. Spirit will choose the quickest and most convenient way to bring the healing about.
